My favourite song ever played by 3 geniuses dedicated to their craft. Musical Nikola Teslas. Not Prog rock, but rather super human rock. Thank you for doing this!
This latest version certainly does justice to the memory of both Keith and Greg and to what was to become a truly unique and GREAT Band !! Brings back fond memories of my youth, as I was fortunate enough to have played support band to P.P Arnold and the NICE (Keith) at Dreamland Margate in the 60's, as well as seeing them live many times during their heydays !! RIP
Did NOT think I would watch more than 60 seconds of this. Damn, was I wrong! 15:17 onward......very special. I have to believe you love this piece as much as I do.
This is my all time favorite ELP work. Brilliant composition and lyrics and Greg Lake's voice. No one else could do it justice. Too bad he was given short shrift on the video. If you haven't already, you should do In the Court of the Crimson King, from Lake's previous group, King Crimson. It is equally dramatic and a perfect vehicle for this type of production.
What would make a heartbreakingly lovely video would be 'Memoirs Of An Officer And A Gentleman' or "Closer To Believing". I visualize those scenes every time I play those songs.
Absolutely brilliant, as many have said before, three musicians at the top of there game, thank you for putting this video together as a tribute to ELP it will be hard to beat. Best Wishes. Tony M.
Love this it is awesome, Next video should be an animated version of Tarkus with Battles of the creatures to end all battles....computer CGI would be even better.....Just a Thought ....Cheers ! Enjoyed this one very much.....Thank You :-)
Brilliant video! IF you accept suggestions, alsoother ELP songs are well for videos. Here with the visuals they evocate: 1) Watching over you (space, stars, cities), Still you turn me on (a lonely rooftop and many home windows with silhouettes), Rondo (give a read to When Gravity Fails by George Alec Effinger).
Marvellous! The audio quality is far better than the video quality. And the different performances are fascinating! Can you make a version without lyrics? We already know the words. Thank you - I'll play it again tomorrow for my 3pm EST toast to Emo.
I just now happened on this. It's f'ing brilliant! Although I'm sure you wouldn't want to do yet another version (with all the work that would entail), it occurs to me that the TV series, Black Sails is now over after four seasons. What if you had footage from that show available when you were putting this film together? I can see using this version of the music (Greg's got real energy here, which he does not on a couple of others) and cutting the video exclusively from Black Sails! Totally illegal no doubt, but wouldn't that be amazing? The video part would be unified, consistent, and as close to X-rated as you want it to be. FWIW. . .
There is an effort starting to try and get Emerson Lake & Palmer nominated into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year (2018; induction in 2019). Write a letter to RRHOF Nominating Committee (NC), describing how their music influenced you, if you want to help get them nominated! Here is NC mailing info. And, PLEASE, share HOF NC info on your own social media page(s) (FB, twitter, etc) and explain what readers should do!!!! Thanks!!!! Maybe you can help me out? How have you've been able to keep this video up? Any issues? I've seen a few were taken down for copyright. I recorded several Pirates video with me "trying" to play along on an 8 string bass. 2 of them immediately got nailed for copyright and I didn't even publish them yet, they're all still private. The rest I titled differently. The video I learned from was taken down but thankfully I got the whole piece learned right when it disappeared.
What a nice homage to this epic work of ELP!
What a lovely find! Most enjoyable tribute to one of the best bands of all time!
