Your video was highly informative and thorough. Thank you for taking the time to be so detailed and zoom in on what was happening, in addition to explaining everything so clearly. My speakers have been messed up for a very long time and now I’m confident I can fix it myself!

what replacement speaker were you using? I don't think 3rd party speakers are going to fit the same way, are they? With the factory connector and all?

Did you find out if 3rd party speakers fit?

@@sabil1998 I found out what speakers he was using. But his process didn't work for me, I couldn't get the glue to hold the speaker. I think I could get some small screws to do it, but haven't gone back to the project. It's all still out on a corner of my workbench.

You need an adapter. Plastic or MDF. They are $5 for a set of two.

I wonder why it has 4 speaker wires run through to the harness, instead of the usal 2 wires

I don't know if you noticed, but by the door release handle there is a tweeter. I'm assuming that two wires run from the head unit to the door speaker and then two run from the door speaker to the door tweeter.

I don’t know how you think a speaker with that much plastic housing just goes back in . Haven’t seen any Kenwood with that housing yet
