Moonspell was the first band I saw perform live. I'd never heard of them until that day. Bought their album at the concert. They opened for Type O Negative and Cradle of Filth in 2003. Greatest show lineup ever!
@PeterParker-fx9dl That's awesome! What a great lineup and the perfect way to become acquainted with a band. Moonspell was also the first band I saw live, but it was in 2005 and I travelled 400 km to see them, so I was already quite convinced they're worth the trouble :D
@@dr.metalhead5452 Wow, Moonspell was the first for both of us. Very cool. The venue where I saw them was very small and intimate. Just a local theater with only a few hundred people in attendance. I was maybe 10 feet (or 3 meters for you, haha) from the stage. As you said, the perfect introduction to the band. I'll always remember the amusing sight of the size difference between Peter Steele and Dani Filth, haha.
i think you can find a lot of joy in the lyrics by eivor. she is not only one of the best vocalists of our time, being a classically trained sopran and owner of a masters degree in traditional nordic vocal techniques, her lyrics often dive deep into nordic folk tales. for example her work with national danish radio big band and vocal ensemble for "at the heart of a selkie" is a journey into the folk legend of selkie women. she also collaborated with the lovely john lunn for the tv series the last kingdom and also made music for the computer game god of war. her magnificent live qualities are absolut unrivaled!
Thank you for the recommendation! I already analysed a song by Wardruna, so Eivor would definitely interest me. I love her song Trøllabundin! I need to listen to more of her music.
Before watch your review, let me just say that when you talk about Portuguese bands, you are speaking directly to my heart! Specially Moonspell and this very song, which was one of the first metal songs that I ever listened!
That's lovely to hear! Moonspell is also one of the first bands I fell in love with and also the first metal band I ever saw live! I hope you'll enjoy the video ☺
I've long waited a channel with translation excretion of cryptic poetic metal lyrics . Thank you and cast further more. Please do more cradle of filth!!!
Thank you for you great work . I think you always choose very precious songs. Keep on !
