- This was SO MUCH FUN! I think i laughed the entire video. I am so intrigued by how intricate the details are in this painting. I will definitely be doing this again. I learned a lot with this one and my previous one. The base coat needs to be a thin layer, all the paints need to be medium thick consistency. I could have had more colors in the puddles. As well when you hit down with the mallet, you can move it ever so slightly in the direction you want to get the spatters to work. I would recommend doing this with plenty of plastic around because while this is one of the most fun acrylic pouring techniques i have done, it is also one of the messiest!
Inspiration is ann osborne for her beautiful mallet smashes:
find her channel here: / @annosborne
Pouring medium: floetrol/gloss medium and varnish/gac800 mixed in a ratio of 50/30/20
with water for consistency. The paints are thicker than my dutch pours for this. I used creative inspirations white instead of amsterdam here.
Colors used: gold, primary magenta, vermillion, blue violet, phthalo blue, white
Canvas is 20x20in
Time Stamps:

1:45 Spreading the acrylic paint on the canvas

Hope you enjoy the video! Thank you so much for watching. Happy painting!
I am so happy that I found acrylic pouring/fluid art a few years ago. It has helped me in so many ways and it just keeps getting better and better. This visual arts creative outlet has made me so happy. I am loving this abstract art! I hope to keep doing this for years to come! I have always been fascinated by modern and contemporary art. There is something about it that is so freeing and expressive. I love acrylic pouring because I get to experiment and really join the creative side of my brain with the scientific part! There are so many different fluid acrylic pouring techniques out there, so much more to try and have fun with. Make sure you are subscribed to my channel so that you may learn and be creative with me. I love hearing all of your comments. Ok, so its hard to see the beauty in this one without seeing the close up and the dried result. But it is SO COOL! Again, just exploring different techniques! Hope you guys enjoyed. I laughed so much the entire time! Paint every where! Happy painting!
I was laughing with you the first time you splashed yourself. 😂
Wow I love it, I laughed so hard when you splashed yourself, I said yep that's me lol. I would be afraid I would smash a hole in the canvas lol.
LOVE this!! So different and so cool! It looks like an abstract water colour painting to me. I love the colour palette you chose, too!
Loving that idea, I'm trying it. Great creativity!
Super awesome and the paint consistency worked.
I couldn't help but think how much fun this would be with a group of kids! I hope you do more of these because it turned out so well.

Hi Molly. This method comes out beautifully well. Love the colors and the curlies. Can't wait to try this! So delicate and pretty... Experiment is a Success.
First thought was you are going to have to scrape that but with your artistic ability you turned a wreck into a beautiful art piece. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
Can’t wait to try that technique.
Looks like great fun Molly! Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! ❤
Wow! At first I wasn’t sure about this painting but when you brought us down, it is really cool! Another ‘winner’!
Hi Molly! That looks like it was sooo much fun! I wasn't sure about the colours at first but it came out really well. Just goes to show you have to have an open mind when you are trying something different. It looks really cool!! 😁👍
Very different application but end result is fun, lots of movement and surprisingly nice...really like it.
What a fabulous technique molly. Absolutely stunning.great job on your second go.
Wow!!! with your fingers and a hammer wow. Im so amazed. Im going to do that tomorrow.
Very whimsical. I love it.
Cool I'm seeing little white butterfly shapes love it
I think it turned out beautifully. Gail Burstyn from Life in Splatters does the mallet smash and hers are also great. I have to watch Ann Osbourne. Thanks so much. I'm glad you had so much fun doing this.
😊🎨🌺🎨😊
That is bright and beautiful.
How fun is that!!! Can’t wait to try !!
Thank you for letting us share in the experiment. I don’t know which I enjoyed more learning about the mail at smash, or listening to you giggle as paint went flying everywhere. It seems like you get the best results when you hit it harder. When you were reserved in your hitting, and held back, the painting go flying everywhere and I’m sure your studio was cleaner on those passes, but you didn’t get the same beautiful splattered results as when you let go. Gail Byrnstyn also does the mail at smash quite often. She’s a pro at it she just goes “boom, boom, boom, boom“ and all her puddles are smashed. Her pain is very thick, I mean VERY thick… And she gets absolutely beautiful results.
Love the color scheme on this.
Good way to get some exercise, relieve some stress, and make some art, lol. Well done!
Absolutely gorgeous...... love the colours!!
Your laugh is so contagious I love it and the painting is awesome
Purdy pour and looks like fun ❤

Thanks for doing this, Molly. It's definitely a messy technique. And I like that you added the curly-Q's. I really miss Ann. Stay safe and continue to be well, dear Molly. Hugs~Cheryl

I like this one so much! Beautiful work.
Love it!!!! Thanks for sharing with us!!!😊
Is beautiful!
Thanks for sharing this fun video!
I was not sure about this at first but I really like the end product and all the swirls. Not giving up and learning from mistakes is as good lesson for all of us. I work in an alternative high school and I'm teaching growth mindset at the moment. I think I will use your talk about learning from mistakes in the beginning of the video to demonstrate this tomorrow. I love your laughter. This would be really cool with metallics are color shifting paints.
Thank you!!
the curly q's were GENIUS!!! I LOVE 'EM!!!
