Why I switched from from Gaynor Mindens to Freeds pointe shoes?

- Gaynor Mindens and why I guess I switched away from them but still keep them. It’s hard to really completely let go of your Gaynors once you’ve tried them. Honestly they feel like clouds compared to my traditional shoes especially without toe pads. But what makes this shoe wonderful is the fact that it lasts so long compared to the many shoes that we own. But here are some of my takes on the Gaynor Minden shoe and why I switched into FREEDS and eventually fell in love with the amount of control i can get with them.
I still feel as though searching for the perfect pointe shoes is a never ending process of trying all kinds of shoes. But really after trying Freeds and finding the best pair I fell so in love with the control and the movement of the shoe with your feet.
Hope you enjoy this one!
Much love,
Teacher Lina

Use Tea Tree Oil. I put tea tree oil and water (50/50) in a small spray bottle, shake well and give a single spritz in each shoe. You can also rub some tea tree oil on your feet before you put them on. It really works.
After 2 decades in Gaynors the new European build no longer works for me so I am now trying to find new shoes and remembering the pain of traditional shoes again. Ouch! Then I put Gaynors back on and my feet are confused by their soft cloudiness and ease. I am happy to find someone navigating between these shoes.
I always find myself in between all these shoes as well, hopefully we can find what works someday
Loved this video! We've basically switched at the same time 😂 Both shoes look lovely on you😍 I am actually just as comfortable in Freeds, I wear them without anything extra and they fit perfectly. I got pairs off of Freed stockers that get brand new shoes Royal Ballet dancers don't wear anymore and they wear a looooot cheaper!
Hey Alessia!
Thank you for that comment I’ll definitely be looking into that too! :D
where do i find this 😱👀
Hey thanks for your review. That’s the problem with gaynors. If you start a beginner in them it’s hard to get away from them! But I can totally see why from a humidity point of view gaynors would need to be a go too in the Philippines
I now use Gaynors probably since 2 years. I really like them, but i struggle with big toe pain and bruised toe nails, so i'm really hopeing to find something different that works better for me soon. (I've heard that problem a lot with Gaynors.) But it's so hard to get a good fitting in Vienna.
Thanks for your talking about your experience☺🩰
I hope you find a good pair soon! ♡ its definitely a constant search for the best pointes. I had a friend who had the same experience with gaynors too as you, she eventually gave up and went back to traditional shoes too ♡
@@dancebylina Aw thank you so much, that's good to hear! ☺💕
Their new production is a no no for me. The new production was my first gaynors so I have bad first impression about them .hahaaa
@@Parie_fawny1207 Ah, I'm sorry to hear that!
I have the same problem 😭 I tried Freeds and they were absolutely amazing but died within 3 days of wear which is why I went back to Gaynors even though they are so painful to dance in :/
I absolutely adore my Freeds and hate my Gaynors 😂 especially with the new European shoes the GM give me so much pain and I feel like I’m in constant battle with the shoe 😩 My freeds are heavenly but they only last me for 4-5 hours compared to months on the Gaynors which is why I still wear Gaynors 😅
These comments are very insightful! I understand your sentiments most especially with the price point. Which is also why I continue to wear my GM’s as well. Thank you for sharing this :(
I feel more comfortable in a traditional shoe myself. I love my Freeds. I like the control with traditional better.
Thank you so much for the comment! Yes 🙌

Same teacher .. ilove ur videos❤️💕
@@SuperEmilky thank you! And glad you love them too!
Ilove Gaynor (coz i can use it for a long time😂) but i still love Grishko (just my opinion).❤️💕eheheh...
-- ilove all ur ballet videos-❤️
Totally understand that too! Thanks for the comment!
I love the point shoes lina but they to Expensive to buy🥺☹️😞😟
Awww gosh I believe though FREEDS and Gaynors are just about the same price. In Tokyo they’re about 17,000 - 20,000 yen or about 10,000 pesos for 2 pairs of FREEDS and sometimes they even sew on the garter and the ribbons for free if you buy 2 pairs. I believe Gaynors are about the same price in the Philippines but just for one pair is about 5000 so i think to compare it’s just that they don’t last as long as Gaynors which really is the downside to FREEDs. :( Maybe just as a spare you can have a really good pair of FREEDS to trade around with your Gaynors.
@@dancebylina 🥰😊
I had the perfect pair of Freeds for a Swan Lake., ome custom pair from some Royal dancer, they were perfect till they died..20 minutes later.
One pair lasted exactly 5 minutes.
Gaynors are very customizable.
It is the correct fit, the right model for your feet.
I have had one pair for 5 years, OK, they are dirty...
For sure
