Liquid calories tend to be a difficult fear food to overcome! I'd say one of the best ways to overcome this fear is continuous exposure. It will feel scary at first, but the more you give yourself permission and have drinks with these ingredients, you will start to notice that your body is more than capable of handling it. It's sort of like learning to swim by getting in the water over and over!
I am always trying to modify some of your meals so that they are T1D friendlier for me. I did recently fall in love with Skinny Syrups for iced coffee and such. I am also on a steep learning curve for Intuitive Eating...I am struggling to not restrict.
Hi! I was wondering if you have advice on allowing yourself coffee with cream and or syrups without guilt. Fear of getting cavities from any sort of sugar (more of an irrational fear than anything -> ED)

@dietitianhannah thank you. One other thing I'm struggling with is steps. Do people really need 10000 steps a day. I have sacrificed my sleep to wake up super early like 4am to get at least 5 steps in plus a workout before I wake my kids up for school at 7. I hate to be so focused on numbers and I'm always exhausted and never feel rested. I'm just so scared to allow myself to sleep and potentially not hit even 8000 steps bc of my job where I sit at a desk even though it's part time. Any advice or thoughts. I feel me not getting enough sleep and stressing is causing be too gain weight and hold onto body fat bc I'm so consumed by my steps and exercise. I struggle so much with resting
@@LindseyMurphy-g9z I've heard that the 10k step thing is just a myth that people decided was factual. It's something like the Japanese kanji for "10,000" looks like a man that is running, so a businessman in Japan capitalized on it and made a pedometer branded around the kanji. Rest is just as important as exercising is, dare I say even more important! Don't worry about the numbers. All that matters is that you move to feel GOOD, not move to punish yourself or try to reach a frivolous number that some random person decided was good for you.
I have a friend who makes her quesadillas in the microwave. She's getting shamed for that because what kind of monster eats soggy microwave tortillas?????? Enjoyed the video!
