My blood runs cold thinking about the American health system. I’m in Scotland, UK. Contraception. Free. Prenatal, postnatal care. Labour. Birth. Free. Emergency endoscopy. Free. Emergency hand surgery with plastics. Free. Kidney stone removal free. HRT, free. Child’s tonsillectomy. Free. Paediatrician. Cardiology. Gynaecology. Respiratory and sleep study. Free. X-rays. MRI. Allergy testing. Free. General appointments free. Prescriptions, free. Course of CBT. Free. Autism and ADHD assessment free. Colonoscopy free. Laparoscopy and endometriosis removal. Free. This has literally been for our family in one year….(we’ve had a rough year 😂). I can’t imagine if we had to pay….
That would probably cost $500,000 or more in the United States but with insurance it would still be at LEAST $1,500/month for me PLUS $18,500 and whatever doctor co-pays are. Insane!!! You are sooooooo blessed with that healthcare!!! I cannot even imagine
What they forget to tell you is, yes, this all free at a point of need. But the waiting times are horrendous. We can wait months or years for all of the above in scotland. Plus not really free we pay for all these services through our tax system like national insurance from our wages. A lot of folk go private for health issues as its quicker to get help but yeah no were near as much a people get charged in USA General GP stuff you can get prescription on the day of appointment. Hospital stuff months and months of waiting it's so bad.
It's tiered at what is considered to be most urgent. My grandfather was diagnosed with cancer and treated with surgery in less than 3 months. All free.
@@Maria-jm1cd New Flash: We in the US have VERY long wait times of months or years depending on where you live and what your medical needs are. The US, even if you have what is considered "good" insurance here - is a hell hole for medical care. If you get really sick you WILL almost always have a lot of out of pocket expenses. Most US bankruptcies are due to medical debt. We would pay FAR LESS if we have universal medical system rather than a for-profit scheme with 900+ insurance companies.

In fact, I feel like those who have had their own struggles make them better therapists because they get it and they’ve likely done the work to get to the other side so they know the process. I feel like it helps instill hope in others.

I feel like the agree to disagree is valid for pineapple on pizza, but not about opinions that can potentionally harm another human being. Having lesser opinions of some people than others (for example, being a homophobe is an opinion) is not an opinion I can vibe with. Just how I view it personally! But I too like having diverse conversations

I could have been okay with this idea of “agree to disagree” in the past with other Rep. but not whatever their party has become which even the OG Rep. don’t recognize anymore.
Emotionally, I understand, but the thing is we have individual liberties to make those freedom of associations for ourselves. Harm means something different from one group to the next, not to mention how the definition and measures change every century.

Re: Politics. I worked for the government for AWHILE and can tell you that who is in power makes a profound difference. One leader instituted a moratorium on building in greenbelt areas to protect farmland and the environment, cut out coal-fired plants and instituted free pre-K care in our schools. That's real change people see immediately in the care their children are given, the time they have to pursue their careers (should that be what they want) and cleaner air to breathe. In terms of politicians lying, well, Jack Nicholson had it right ... many people can't handle the truth. I know this sounds infantilizing but imagine a politician saying 'well, it looks like we don't have enough money to do much of anything while I'm in power, but I'll do my best' getting a tonne of votes. I think well-meaning politicians plug their noses and make promises they HOPE they can keep (while knowing everything they promise is impossible) so they can get into power to make the changes they CAN make. I understand if you're not in politics or pay much attention to it, it can seem like it's a shit show but real change happens depending on who you vote for; some positive, some ... not so much (Handmaid's Tale). And while half the country may be upset if their candidate doesn't 'win', they would still benefit from the positive changes made by a leader/party/government who actually has the people's best interests at heart.
What you described was peanuts for the people so they don’t catch on to what’s really happening. Yes we want people in power to be honest. People can handle the truth. Lies create confusion and distrust. If a politician was honest he would say we have enough money to kill people but not enough to actually make life enjoyable. Real change comes from grassroots movements not from the top.
All presidents make a positive impact in at least a few areas. Not all areas matter to everyone. I hope you are and have been content during your lifetime regardless of who’s in office because although your candidate won’t win all the time, as you state, you still benefit in some aspect.

Hey bestie. Another homesteader friend of mine had to shut down her farmers market due to the FDA last week. This is going to hurt small local farmers and homesteaders. I feel this means more chemicals and more reliance on production as they press harder and harder on the necks of those trying to keep the organic living and thriving going.
Terrible! What was their reasoning?? I wonder if this is a new regulation that theyve enacted or something that's already been happening. Im so sorry for your friend!! What a shitty thing to happen
I'll put on my tin foil hat here... but I've got a feeling that since Project 2025 wants to completely scrap the FDA and go with what his people are proposing- if they change regulation on produce, I feel that it'll only benefit the government and make it inaccessible for anyone other than them to make any sort of living off their crops. Project 2025 also proposes a sort of internment camp for the 'undesirable' population as specified as the mentally ill, disabled, addicts, prisoners, etc where they will be all living together to grow organic produce. Project 2025 says that it'll be voluntary to go, but I believe that it's a lie. That it'll be slave labor because who would voluntarily live somewhere with prisoners who may be deemed dangerous?
Look into PA vs Amos Miller (or vice versa). The FDA has come after his Amish farm for not following regulations. There’s a federal suit involved. These three letter agencies have too much power! If someone wants to buy Amish grown foods, let them make that decision without the govt sniffing their plate!

Giiiiirrrrrlll I am so sick of the insurance scam! It is the biggest nationwide change I'm praying for the next 10 years. The way all insurance almost doubled in the last 12 mths...no way. I'm thinking about actually canceling our private health insurance because we get 3 rxs a month and go to the doctor 1-2 times a year, that's it. I've always kept it due to that "what if" but I'm so tired of it.
I know I am a stranger on the internet, but I'm here to strongly urge you not to get rid of your health insurance if you can financially swing keeping it. Things may be fine now, but the minute it lapses, sh*t will hit the fan and medical bills without insurance can completely wreck someone's future. I just am saying this because I have had things come up WITH insurance that I am still digging myself out of debt for.
I had insurance through my employer but recently left them and I paid almost. 400 to get insurance and over 300 a month (single) to then go to the pharmacy for a script and paid 250…. I canceled it the next day!
@sarahfitts430 I do understand that because one of my kids was in a bad wreck last year and insurance paid a ton for us and we were only responsible for $4k and for that I was grateful! But as much money I make, it is getting financially harder to justify. And insurance preys on people who are afraid of what if scenarios.
So I have my own studio hair salon and we paid $1200 a month for my family of four with a $10,000 deductible. We chose to cancel and find a concierge clinic and be cash pay to give us some breathing room financially for a year. We set aside half the monthly payment a month into savings as a just in case safety net but I was soooo stressed all year about something happening so we may go back to traditional insurance but having a year off was definitely needed
My husband and I haven’t paid for health insurance for 14 years and we’ve been ok so far 😬 edit to say we also work out several times a week and also do long form endurance training once every weekend. And we try to eat healthy. So that helps.
Also there are a lot of awesome WOC senators and congresswomen who are so staunchly honest and compassionate, fighting for small communities and working people. Love to support them even if they arent from my tragic state!
Thank you for voicing your opinion and touching on topics which should be brought to the light. I love your perspective of equality, and I appreciate your openness and respectfulness. I feel it’s up to us (the people) to stand for a better life, whether we agree on certain things or not, because it’s the united people who will make a difference. To bring forth a healthier life, a more sustainable, less toxic life for our bodies, minds, and spirits. Whether someone disagrees or not, it’s about courage and perseverance. Stepping into the unknown, coming together, supporting and understanding each other’s genuine needs. I think it’s heartbreaking how our country has been developing over the last couple of centuries, but there are people who continue to bring forth hope in this world. People who won’t stop until they can’t go anymore. Resilience, strive. Thank you for continuing to bring attention to topics which make people second guess the capitalism in our country. The fact that the insurance can dictate WHEN you can pick up prescriptions blows my mind as well. I’m on medications where I could have literal seizures if I can’t pick them up on time. God forbid the doctor recommends me not to take the sugar pills in my birth control because I have a whole slew of issues when I am on my period and the insurance wants to tell me I’m picking up my birth control too soon?! Years of paying that deductible. 10 good years, new second cancer.. back to square one. No retirement savings bcuz he just got over 50k a year since covid. General Practitioners in South Africa cost around $20-$30 dollars and all GPs can manage common chronic diseases like hypertension and diabetes. A vial of insulin will cost around $10-$15 and there are plenty of generics that brings cost down. We have a large lower class community that can't afford medical aid/health insurance, so we have a large public health system where medications are free. Unfortunately, not all the facilities are the same in terms of quality of care, but the service exists. Long queuing times is a given on the day but they do prioritise the elderly.

RE: the stricter FDA regulations, I think this question is referring to the raw-milk movement currently going on (at least near me, in texas). Conservative legislators are trying to make raw milk more accessible. Citizens believe it is more nutritious and tastes better (which may be true, but only marginally), but it is proven to be unsafe.
It cured my husbands allergies. Also, there is more risk of food born illness from deli meat than raw milk from a farm that cleans their equipment and cows properly.

For getting into community...have you considered becoming apart of a non profit board of directors?? I think that you're the perfect type of person for that type of position!
I so appreciate speaking to how different environments shape peoples opinions, and values. If you live with totally different conditions, what makes your life more beautiful, harmonious, and safe will be very different from another person in a different region. Its exhausting the judgment from people who have no knowledge of a people's region, the ideologies, the culture, looking from the outside, and don't experience the consequences of their values/rules/norms being imposed on people with different needs. I.e. like being a pacifist when you live in a homogenous region, with no religious extremism, and financial stability, like okay bro, just let your family be slaughtered.
The thing with medical insurance, it's not perfect in other countries. I live in Europe, lived in few other parts of the world , and I know flaws... But, if you are paying this amount of money every month you would expect to have perfect serv, full coverage, great conditions... I have additional private medical insurance (additional to the state one) paying 25 EUR per month, gives me access to private hospitals, with 50 per month I would have everything!
Everyone is living different lives and have different worldviews, but I can't be friends with someone who doesn't believe I have the right to exist. And it shouldn't be up to me to try to bridge that divide by agreeing to disagree....on my life.

Exactly! That´s a non negotiable!
My blood runs cold thinking about the American health system. I’m in Scotland, UK.
Contraception. Free. Prenatal, postnatal care. Labour. Birth. Free. Emergency endoscopy. Free. Emergency hand surgery with plastics. Free. Kidney stone removal free. HRT, free. Child’s tonsillectomy. Free. Paediatrician. Cardiology. Gynaecology. Respiratory and sleep study. Free. X-rays. MRI. Allergy testing. Free. General appointments free. Prescriptions, free. Course of CBT. Free. Autism and ADHD assessment free. Colonoscopy free. Laparoscopy and endometriosis removal. Free. This has literally been for our family in one year….(we’ve had a rough year 😂). I can’t imagine if we had to pay….
That would probably cost $500,000 or more in the United States but with insurance it would still be at LEAST $1,500/month for me PLUS $18,500 and whatever doctor co-pays are. Insane!!! You are sooooooo blessed with that healthcare!!! I cannot even imagine
Scotland forever! I love how progressive scotland is ❤
What they forget to tell you is, yes, this all free at a point of need. But the waiting times are horrendous. We can wait months or years for all of the above in scotland. Plus not really free we pay for all these services through our tax system like national insurance from our wages.
A lot of folk go private for health issues as its quicker to get help but yeah no were near as much a people get charged in USA
General GP stuff you can get prescription on the day of appointment.
I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for these videos. I didn’t comment on the first one, but I should have. I really enjoy listening to you. Speak, you do it in such a beautiful way. You emphasize that these are your opinions, and that is wonderful and it’s nice to hear someone speaking openly and honestly, without fear.❤
I knew health insurance was expensive in the US, but to hear an actual breakdown of the costs, deductibles and coverage......INSANE!
I'm so excited you answered my question (about what job you would get)!! I had to show my husband lol. I am so happy to hear you didn't receive any (or many) negative comments on your last video when you shared about the peace you feel with Jesus in your life, because I feel the same way! I tried commenting on that video but it didn't go through, but I was so thankful for you sharing that with us. Maybe God knew people needed to hear about Him through your platform.
BE WHO YOU ARE ON PURPOSE. I’m going to remind myself of that as much as I can. Don’t backtrack. Continue forward, girl. Don’t censor yourself. It is so hard, but it is so worth it.
Moving from America to Australia which has medicare (free public health) for everyone and replaced the crazy orange dyes in cheetos, mac n cheese and High fructose corn syrup in Dr. Pepper with just natural sugar had opened my eyes up to alot of things. The US had alot of amazing qualities but can also grow in alot of ways
The shoes are looking gorgeous! What a fantastic and thoughtful gift 🥹♥️
Omg thank you so much!!! I appreciate that so much!!

100% agree!
I'm training to be one and it's my interest in human beings that was the catalyst 😊 I have let's say... 'life experience' but I have no interest in delivering that kind of therapy or working in that realm.
Many just want to help people live well... But there are definitely some very interesting characters attracted to psych practice.
Hearing you talk about the challenges with screen time in PNW winter is EXACTLY my current gripe. I try desperately to keep my kids away from excessive tv time but it is HARD during these long, dark winters. Plus, my energy levels are wayyyy down in winter.
Exactly!! Dude it’s roughhhhhh! Solidarity
Therapist here - you can absolutely work in the field of mental health despite having your own struggles. It guided me to specialize in anxiety. In fact, I feel like those who have had their own struggles make them better therapists because they get it and they’ve likely done the work to get to the other side so they know the process. I feel like it helps instill hope in others.
Kristie, this is what THIMBLES are for.
To push the needle through without hurting your fingers.
Hope this helps and you run out and get a thimble.
It will make the work go so much faster.
Merry Christmas.
This. Rn one party is about facts and morals while the other ones is the opposite, no morals, don’t believe in facts and about conspiracy theories.
@@RachelDeenot one part of your comment makes sense
This is so unnecessarily inflammatory. To see half the country as completely brainwashed and horrible people is a terrible way to live your life. The VAST majority of people are good, kind people that want the best for others and our country. They just see differently what is good or bad for people. Please practice love and kindness and avoid demonizing millions of people for political reasons. How do you think the holocaust happened? Let’s encourage more dialog and understanding.
@@MissYaldahopefully someday you realize you're part of the problem when you claim everyone who doesn't vote like you (literally 75,000,000 people) doesn't believe in facts and doesn't have morals...
Omg Kristi I’m just at the ad, but I have to comment. I’m SO glad you had this sponsor today. As someone who has trauma from past stalking, I’m constantly thinking about what people can find about me online and I cannot wait to use this service
Living in australia - listening to your health insurance breakdown..just wow. People complain about our high taxes…but atleast I can sleep easy at night knowing if anything happens to me or my family, I can go to the hospital and get treatment without fear of debt🤯
I’ve been rolling the dice without health insurance for over a decade. I had a baby in June, failed home birth. Without insurance my total cost with complications was less than the monthly premium for 7 months plus the deductible I qualified for with ACA. I got a 70 PERCENT DISCOUNT for paying cash. Insurance is the biggest legal extortion in this fucking country.
As someone born with Turner's syndrome, and will never have children, and someone who lost thier mom going on 2 years ago now, I appreciate you making separate videos! Look forward to seeing them!
I really like these kinds of videos. In this day and age it's scary to put your opinions out there because there's always going to be a group of people who want to bring you down for what you believe. I rarely talk to anyone outside of my immediate family anymore because of this. It's really sad that society has turned into what it is. Keep being you!
I have never met another person in my life that thinks so much like me. I love watching you because you speak to my heart 😂
Yes! Keep it coming Kristi! I enjoy listening to your views and it shows how brave you are. And it suits you 🥰. If anyone can speak on taboo topics, it’s you! You give off an aura of authenticity and that is what I always admired about you. You’re my kind of people Kristi ☺️
Thank you!
The worst thing about the two party system is I think more than half of people are mad 😭
More than half of the country is happy and feels relief. People saw how bad things were getting and used their right to vote to make a change.
Only 23% of Americans voted for him. My point is a lot of people don’t feel represented by either party, thus more than half of people are mad about the two party system.
@@openfire👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. People who believe in the two party system can’t see it. But this is the truth! It’s broken and people are tired.

@ I’m anti-G. Neither side is good. They are pushing more and more for lab created food. I’m scared for our children. Sigh
@@janelle_beans What page is that on?
Look into PA vs Amos Miller (or vice versa). The FDA has come after his Amish farm for not following regulations. There’s a federal suit involved. These three letter agencies have too much power! If someone wants to buy Amish grown foods, let them make that decision without the govt sniffing their plate!
Girl you are so talented! 2:00
I'm someone who commented on your last video. I was an absolute atheist, there was no changing my mind and I had zero interest. Since August I have had a strong pull towards Jesus and the Bible, even though I didn't want it. I am now a complete and utter believer. I am so shocked by my own transformation. My mom suddenly passed away when I was 17, I unfortunately found her so I completely understand numbing yourself & “keeping yourself occupied” with the money you received. I appreciate your content so so much & these types of videos 💖 sending you so much love!! Happy holidays ✨
I love the shoes, btw. All the videos with artworks are inspiring!

GIRL your health insurance 😮I literally am flabbergasted. The $50 copay and the $8,500 deductible!!?? What are they actually covering prey tell!?!
You're politics are exactly like mine. It's refreshing!
Our diversity as a nation is why we need local control.

We love your brain. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Madness.
You are so worth being heard and I love listening to your perspective... I find you to be quite intelligent... I could listen to you talk for hours... Your common sense is uncommon...😊💛🙃
I'm Canadian and pay for insurance (not insanely expensive, but a couple hundred a month roughly) through my employer, and I'm chronically ill (multiple conditions)... If I was American I'd be paying around 20 THOUSAND ($20k) per month for ONE of my medications. Insanity.
I pay NOTHING for that medication, and about $6 for my other meds (gabapentin, etc)... next to nothing.
And I can claim those prescription costs on my taxes
America is insane for keeping the "health for profit" system 😢
Husband is postal. We WERE on the same insurance congress were on but they just kicked us off. (30 years he's been employed there) we were paying 1200.00 a month and the gov was paying 1700.00 PER MONTH. Great,, except 6.5k deductible per year and I had cancer the first time at 33. Years of paying that deductible. 10 good years, new second cancer.. back to square one. No retirement savings bcuz he just got over 50k a year since covid. We don't take vacations, 1 in 30 years together. 1 vehicle, used, no new furniture all hand me downs and thrifting... being sick in America means a lifetime of trying to just keep your head above water. Fix this kids, eat the rich.. seriously enough.

The health insurance issue in america is truely disgusting. srry not srry. how is it even possible people still live there i ask myself (i would move) and than i realize most people dont even have the financial ability to move! (i could not either) imagine you are stuck with a system like that for life. i swear all humans should be on the streets demonstrating, striking and refuse working till the few rich stop exploiting humans. cause obviously these f* are monsters.

Lovely. Bless you for being you.

You basically have to destroy your body to get good insurance. My husband is retired military. I had to have surgery in 2021 and through the whole journey my medical bills totaled over $60K, but I only paid out of pocket maybe $1500 or so of it... So, amazing insurance, but my husbands body was the cost
I truly don't know how people survive in the US financially

I know health insurance is not good for most of america, but i didn't know it was that bad (i live here in the u.s) but my husband's work has Centivo insurance and his is $600-700 a month for our family but its a zero deductible plan. And they seem to cover quite a lot. So this probably doesn't help many people but Centivo seems to be decent although i think its pretty new

I know someone who has diagnosed with breast cancer later in the year, like October or something. Reached her out of pocket max in December and then had do meet it again once the year reset with no help from insurance.
It cures my husbands ulcerative colitis…so for us the benefits outweigh the small risk.
It cured my husbands allergies. Also, there is more risk of food born illness from deli meat than raw milk from a farm that cleans their equipment and cows properly.
Thank you!
It's all about who is the better actor or who looks a certain way!

My former insurance policy was $1200/month with deductive and out of pocket of $30,000. My employer paid the premium as part of my benefits but it made having chronic and auto immune issues hell. I paid for everything and avoided treatment for a lot of issues.
