I feel like these lyrics actually represent severe ADHD pretty damn well. I suffer from it and it really is just a constant feeling of "why am I even trying" AND the mood swings always come and go. Not sure what the song is specifically about but thats how I view this beautiful masterpiece. ADHD is not just being hyper all the time. Its depression, anxiety, loss of focus, and constantly feeling like I will not succeed in life because ADHD makes it too difficult. Money, relationships, and basically everything in life. Its a major struggle.

This song isn't sad. It's about empathy. This version and the video clears it up from the first one (which was kind of depressing in my mind). It's not "why I try" to understand other's problems but " I'm only left to wonder why? I try."
The first version had somber lyrics but still an upbeat rhythm. As if perhaps this weight would soon go away. There is still hope in that version. As time goes on and this is released the hope has died and the only emotion that remains is resignation.
