    "Hey Zamboni guy! You missed a spot!" I'm only pulling you leg. Nice simple idea and the ice looks pristine!

    I used my blue box with a towel and a chunk of rubber on the bottom same idea. Did it on lake betula in manitoba at minus 40. Worked like a dream.

    I have an almost identical rink for my kids. I just take two of those Home Depot buckets full of water and dump them in the two top corners of the rink. With an 8" grade, the water would flow slowly to the other end, with varying results. But this is just brilliant! Thanks for sharing!

    How many holes did you put in the bottom ?

    • @rgsauve
      @rgsauve  3 года назад +4

      Hey! I counted 17 holes across (about 1.25 inches apart) and it looks like I used a 7/64 bit to screw the holes. In retrospect, I would have likely screwed a few less holes or smaller ones since the water starts to pool up really quickly if I stop moving.

    Hey mad credits bro im loolind to do something the same for a little pond i got going but in just curius do you need to use hot water cus theres a creek like 100 feet from mine

    • @rgsauve
      @rgsauve  4 года назад +1

      I've heard that hot water makes the ice stronger and less susceptible to conditions that would favour the formation of shell ice. So far this Winter, I've had amazing ice and it only takes me a few minutes to fill a bucket half full of hot tap water so I guess I'll stick with what works. Cheers and good luck with the pond!
