    I have just sent for a dwarf 2 today, I have always been a wildlife and landscape photographer, but never thought of star photography the gear was always to costly, but now that I have found your channel against others I might get to it thankyou.

    I have a 6" TS Photon reflector and a Skywatcher 127 Maksutov, both of which I use for planetary views. I got my Dwarf 2 a while ago and have found it to be astonishingly simple to set up by comparison.

    I love my Dwarf 2 but I wish they would come out with a dedicated software program for image upload and processing that is easier to use than the other ones that are available

    I love my Dwarf II. The main reason I bought the Dwarf II is portability. My wife and I are going to New Zealand next year for 3 months and I plan to do some southern hemisphere star gazing. Show me a telescope other than the Dwarf II you can take on a plane in a backpack as hand luggage. Thanks for your channel, clear skies.

      Exactly right! Portability is for me one of the best features of this smart telescope! Thanks for watching! :-)

    While I like my Dwarf 2 and still use it. It's not a patch on the Seestar. A better product in every way and have both

      So glad you're enjoying the Seastar also, it seams to be good scope! Hopefully though, Dwarflab will manage to get a lot more from the D2 hardware with great software Innovations and eventually the D3 could be a game changer! But what matters is your having fun with this brilliant hobby! Clear skies and the best of luck to you pal! :-)

    Bought the dwarf because it was available and the portability/ease. Software is a bit clunky but the engineers are busy with the new release, previews are looking good.

    You can set up the telescope on the tripod and leave it in another room if you can ready to go, no challenge with Dawrf 2, no doubt lots will on ebay in 6 months when the novelty where's of 👍

    Seestar is miles better, but all the same keeping my Dwarf 2 and getting the Seestar, as the objective is bigger and not much dearer than Dwarf 2. think Seestar is better value. The only letdown with Dwarf 2 is the aperture is tiny but biggest example is portablity and why I am keeping it. Seestar is like a pro version of Dwarf 2. Still love my Dwarf, but at the price of Seestar its much better value and out of the box is even at this stage, the app is 100X better than Dwarf 2, easier to use and incorperated star altlas, so you can pick an object from it and goes to it or from a list. No calibration needed like Dwarf 2, and easier to use

    • @astro-dwarf
      @astro-dwarf  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the comment! The Seestar is great looking scope although quite bulky I feel! Future software updates will hopefully include features such as start atlas etc, here's hoping! :-)

    • @denodan
      @denodan 11 месяцев назад

      I don't think it's to bulky at all.its still smaller than the other smart scopes out there. Problem with Dwarf is the aperture so so small, so resoultion is no where as good as Seestar. Cannot have high portability with larger apertures, sure, but more than makes up for it in better resolution and faster image taking. Cannot have it both ways. Also none of that calibration like Dwarf 2 needed, inbuilt star atlas so can click onto any object in their are goes to it. I like the fact does not need that annoying point calibration

  • @Dwarf-Encounters
    @Dwarf-Encounters Год назад +1

    I have an Meade ETX 90 and the Dwarf 2. The ETX is 25 years ago and was one of the first goto telescopes and was $500 in 1998. Dwarf D2 is also $500 in today's generation. I completely rebuilt and redesigned the ETX to today's standard. I can use Sky Safari 3 cell app to make it completely wireless. But I still needed to polar align and calibrate it with at lease 2 known bright stars. And no matter how hard I tried I still couldn't get a good goto for DSO's! Can't be found and I just give up. I don't care what others are using all those gadgets and guiding scopes and spend thousands of dollars and make YT channels show you the good stuff. They never show the large amount of failures in their alignment process. So why make the video? If everything is not working. So with that said, there are no good goto's to find anything! Today it's all about plate solving. Super easy and super fun!
    I 100% support your channel and I love your polar finder scope for Dwarf 2. And the Bahtinov masks rules big time! I used the 1.25" to 37mm trick was for the use of 2" filters. Heck, I found one on Amazon US from 1.25" to 2" step up rings to use 2" filters on Dwarf. I can even use DSLR filters on Dwarf 2.
    But the thing I love the most about Dwarf Lab is that they are listening to their customers! And that's a good this. I found the Dwarf people are warm, friendly and sincere and stand behind their product, and they are very proud of it! That sticks to the heart. It's the love and passion and inspiration that builds a better telescope. And I strongly believe the D3 will be another adventure for all of us to see! So please, support this channel! You won't be disappointed!!!!!
    All I can say here is that keep watching and liking and expressing your thoughts and opinions on this Dwarf channel. We all learn something here on this channel. If he can't answer it, he'll get the right info to you by asking the manufacturer. Which is Dwarf Lab! Let's make this scope together!
    Many thanks!
    Ron

      100% it's an old telescope and I have no room to keep it assembled! The point of my video was to explain why my Channel is dedicated to the Dwarf 2! You do know they keep putting the app back, allready been put back many months. According to the live broadcast they had, the new app was meant to be beta end of this month, been delayed again abd now say early November. They have done nothing for 6 or so months and a pitifully catalog, never updated. They should have just given us regular updates and working toward the new looking app with each update, instead of nothing. Think this is bad. And may not see many more updates the way they are going

    • @astro-dwarf
      @astro-dwarf  11 месяцев назад +1

      Coming previously from am I. T. background myself I know how difficult software can be to develop! Because this software is integrating with hardware also one wrong line of code can lock up an entries system, so the testing process has to be rigorous and this can be very time costly! I'm sure they're doing their best! :-)

  • @lanfear63

    From a review it clearly states that the resolution/magnification is not suitable enough to do planetary photography. Sure, taking pics of the moon and sun and stars, galaxies and nebula would be fine but that's about it. As a beginners solution and thanks to it's portability you could have a lot of fun with it, but, if your into taking pics of the planets its sadly lacking. However, a version twice it's size with an increased focal length with higher magnification and resolution would be an interesting thing to look at. It could still be attractive as an all in one solution for general astrophotography. They just need to make it lightweight.

    • @astro-dwarf
      @astro-dwarf  Год назад +1

      Great comment and I totally agree! The one thing lacking, the only thing stopping it being a complete all rounder is its inability to image planets, after all they are fun to image, especially for newbies! Hopefully this is something that DwarfLAB are also looking in to! Thanks for watching and commenting, really appreciated! :-)

    I have to agree. I have a Meade ETX-105 & an 8" LX-200 GPS. While both do have quite competent Go-to abilities, and the LX-200 GPS essentially aligns itself once assembled, they are still a huge PITA to lug around to a remote site. Thus they are seldom used. I have a Dwarf 3 on order & can hardly wait.
