@@istheworldreal Maybe because it's weekend?
@@istheworldreal they might say smth in tokyo game show, just cus it stopped recently doesn't mean much
DD2 is an unfinished, rushed mess, he didn't get the budget and scale of team he was wanting for DD2 neither. DD2 is in a worse state then DD1 ever was at any point.
@@Mewsashi-cz9fo still better gameplay. hang me for all i care
honestly I am very happy for Itsuno, let Kento cook what remains of DD2, let Itsuno go indie or make his own studio and deliver his actual vision, even with less resources, what matters is that he isnt rushed or forced, that he can actually, you know, fucking try for real without interferences. Also a small part of me hopes that Kento just continues dogma as well making it his own thing but thats extremely unlikely

@Blazedwizard4 I don't give af if he retires lmao 🤣
@Blazedwizard4 because it's in my recommendations and I've played dragon's dogma
@@Gems56 why do you care always? Lol
@Blazedwizard4 you seem really bothered by my troll comment it ain't that deep bro lmao 😂
Would Itsuno make a Dragon's Dogma spiritual successor?
I don't believe for a second that DD2 was Itsuno's true vision, if he had more time, budget, and resources, I'd say he could've made something mind-blowing if given everything needed.
I'm gonna say it, the best parts of Dragons Dogma didn't have Itsuno as director. Kento Kinoshita was always the better Dragons Dogma director and both Dark Arisen and Dragons Dogma Online were just better. If Kento Kinoshita made DD3 and Itsuno made a spiritual successor I bet DD3 would be the better game
@@elk3407 Most likely. It seems like Kento Kinoshita is going to be what Itsuno was to the DMC series when he took over as director after Hideki Kamiya left Capcom.
@@elk3407 DD:O is not better. They completely gutted the vocations (not as much as 2) and more grounded vibe of the original. Now we got a neutered version of the Mystic Knight and other vocations that completely defy the medieval setting like Alchemist.
@@theobell2002 Alchemy predates the medieval period by around 2,5k years.
@@theobell2002i dont see how the everfall and non euclidean dungeon of BBI are any less "out there" than what DDO introduces
Wishing the best to Itsuno, he’s been behind of lot of fun games at Capcom. So wherever he’s headed he’ll probably be part of more fun games. It’ll be interesting to see how new Devil May Cry and Dragons Dogma projects will turn out without Itsuno since he was the director.
Even though right now I’m not that optimistic about the Dragons Dogma series and DD2 isn’t that liked for understanding reasons (might be Itsunover). I’ll never take for granted that Itsuno gave us a sequel after 12 years of us asking and him wanting to do a sequel.
Yeah, the lack of inovation and low effort was kinda disappoiting, and i haven't even played yet to give a better opinion. But what i don't think Dragon's Dogma 2 won't even make for a GOTY nominee, and once again fall in the shadows of underrated titles. The difference between the second and DDDA is that the forst was an unique game, that shined by itself
Even so i lived to see a sequel coming out, just not in a good time or better way, i'm afraid ;T
Itsuno had the misfortune to work for a publisher that was too afraid to really believe in new ideas unless the games had the names "Resident Evil" or "Monster Hunter" in their covers. In a way i think it's better for him that he left although i'm sure it pains him a lot to leave behind his "child" to be raised by a foster parent.
And i don't have high hopes for the DLC. Capcom have been giving all their money to MH and the Dragon's Dogma team is probably being cut very short with their staff joining the MH teams in order to help with the releaase of the game.
I'm afraid Dragon's Dogma's future is very shaky at the moment.
and then they sabotague themselves by including furries and other things that dont belong even though its a medieval setting! go woke get abandoned by the fans!
@@knightforlorn6731Wtf are you on about? Beastmen are an extremely common trope in medieval fantasy and always have been.
I don't think RE and MH "getting all the budget" is a valid excuse for DD2 being a bad game. Especially since they funded experimental IPs like Kunitsu-Gami, ExoPrimal, and soon Pragmata. Radically wild ideas compared to Dragon's Dogma during an era where D&D fantasy styled media is extremely popular.
I personally think Itsuno just lost his edge as a director because DD's problems wasn't the budget, it was how the budget was managed.
And we know that's true because we have seen a game go through the same thing and succeeded, and that's Dragon's Dogma 1. A game robbed of its funding but was still able to become a masterpiece by placing the budget where it mattered.
@@knightforlorn6731 Having animal humanoids in medieval fantasy setting with Chimeras, Dragons, and Griffons isn't a bad thing. In fact Pawns being flesh servant robots from an ethereal plain of existance is a much wilder concept.
The problem is that it messes with the established world of the first game. If we swapped Beastren, Elves, and Dwarves in Dragon's Dogma for different looking humans, it wouldn't change a single thing about the world.
In fact, if they made a society entirely consisting of Pawns? that would be MUCH MORE interesting and would expand on what the first game established.
@@knightforlorn6731I believe Beastren were cut content from the original game that they decided to finally restore into the second game.
Istuno laid a solid foundation with DD, I hope that Kinoshita will come up with another masterpiece with the new DLC and (I'm praying for it) DDON2, like he did previously.
Hoping as well
MMO only if it's available to west, in eng ;x
Still is very hard to surpass Final Fantasy 14, imho (love that mmo)
But i'm herr thinking what will be of the Dragon Princess DLC?
@@raphathekidThe problem with DD:O is precisely that it didn't get released to the west.
If Final Fantasy XIV had DD's combat it would've easily been the GOATMMO of all Time and I'd never touch grass ever again.
Black Desert had that promise but was mired down by messy lore and being a Korean grind fest skinner box. Such great promise too.
rip dragons dogma
You will be missed.
May he enjoy retirement and maybe find a new love!
Also I would argue NO dragons dogma game was given the amount of people it needs to work on it OR the budget it needs.
Dogma isn't dead, Kento, the guy behind Dark Arisen is more than capable of finishing Dogma 2, maybe even will be put uncharge of Dogma 3
@@sanguinetales dd3 is def not happening If itsuno had to make an ultimatum just to get to work on dd2. Kento probably wants to work on his own passion IP too, even though he's proven to be a better director when it comes to the dogma IP in general.
@@neurosis51 capcom confirmed that dragons dogma is a high priority IP now. So at the very least DD2 will see an expansion and we'll probably get a remake of the first at some point. HOWEVER, I do agree that the next thing dragons dogma related needs to blow DD2 out of the water, wether it be an expansion or whatnot. If it doesnt happen then capcom may change their minds.

Keep in mind without Dark Arisen DD1 also was very bland on release. Let's see if Kento Kinoshita can pull another Dark Arisen type of expansion

I have a feeling that Monster Hunter Wilds was starting to blur the lines between the two games with it effectively going open world, continuing the system MH Rise had of having AI hunters for the player while also being about fighting large monster enemies, all with the added bonus of it being a dynamically changing ecosystem. It sucks because I loved the very traditional fantasy that DD was based in but I hope Itsuno can make something great now that he has no overhanging constraints.
I think you are unto something, I didn't play sunbreak since it's as expensive as the base game here, were the NPCs as good as pawns? The problem is also that whatever you think of DD's plot, monster hunter is even worse since it's focus is on grinding parts to make weapons and armors.
@@lucasLSD no the npc are not better than pawns, but they have less things to do also, so much less place for bugs or whatever, they just attacks( and speaks).
@@lucasLSD in my experience, yes. Sunbreak NPC is quite good. They trap monsters, they mount monsters, heck they even wait for us the player to plan our "wake up moments" when the monster is asleep

As a DMC fan, I feel like there's still hope in the future.
As a DD fan, I feel like it's over. We'll most likely get a DD2 expansion since it probably has been in development for a while now.
Absolutely no chance we'll get a DD3, which hurts because I don't think DD ever reached it's true potential.

It's rough being a dd fan
The chances of getting a dlc is still there but for dd3 is slim to none
Guess this game will be one of those hidden gems that never got to it's full potential :c
DD3 will happen. Capcom just made a bajillion dollars on DD2 despite not investing many resources on it. They also acknowledged DD as one of its big name games now after the "success" and demand from players along w RE and MH. Im predicting might have to wait 3-6 years for any DD news again
Everybody is forgetting the money aspect. DD2 did really well. The reviews are mostly positive and they polled everyone if they wanted DLC. We'll get more content maybe DD3 if Capcom was confident enough. @@yungjose3369
Kind of hoping other studios would make spiritual successors. Crimson Desert seems to be doing something somewhat similar to what DD was.
Game isn't really a Gem. It's dragon dogma 1 with less of everything. I put 100 hrs in it and never beat it. I was just doing head cannon to make an adventure that I realized I was forcing off nostalgia.
@@bombyo3634Same happened to me, i was playing and it was fun at first but the story was mediocre and you only find spelunking into caves fun for a little while. I go to camp and i can't really do anything aside from sit, sleep, eat beast meat, and leave. If it was any other game they'd make the cooking itself have ingredients and requirements. Skyrim has a better cooking system tbh. All the best gear is sold by the merchants as well so that kinda kills my motivation to explore. Sphinx was cool but i was left disappointed when that's all there really is in terms of hidden content and eventually i stopped playing.

Well, looks like my gut warning me about this game was spot on. Maybe the DLC will bring back the original vocations and overhaul the game, but Itsuno leaving pretty much killed that... Not saying it can't happen, but man, its up in the air from here on...
This is a blow similar to what happened to Soul Sacrifice and Soul Sacrifice Delta from Japan 🗾 Studio when $ony still had them up and running.
So many things with potential, eliminated before they could've been so much more.
Yet another end to squandered potential.
I still refuse to see Dragon's Dogma ending like that, really
Even if DD 2 didn’t live up to its full potential I’m glad it at least got to see the light of day, I don’t care even if it did have issues like the first game, it’s still a moment and a treasure I’ll always cherish. And for that it made at least my top 5 games for the year. Maybe not my game of the year but still pretty close.
Wishing the best for Itsuno, hope he can build on something great without all the pressures of corporations getting in the way of forcing games into existence without all the proper executions.
What made Dragon's Dogma special to me wasn't even the pawn system. It was the unique blend of Action gaming fundamentals with RPG mechanics that somehow worked together instead of against each other as it is usually in Action RPGs. All of that with a good level of simulation aspects on top of it. Not immersive sim levels of interaction with the environment but very good. Stuff like throwing bombs to break ore off of ore veins or water falling on top of you giving you the Drenched status. That was peak RPG dungeoneering 101.
As much as I am also on the opinion that DD2 didn't do enough, I do like that they got to bring up more of the simulation aspect forward, even if they might have bitten off more than they could chew... in a sense they made the greatest Bethesda game not made by Bethesda in terms of just how much modding has brought to DD2 since its release.
Chances are - we're not gonna see new DD nor DMC, unless Capcom decides to boost their profile so they become more in line with their more financially successful IPs like Resident Evil and Monster Hunter.
Ahh well... at least we had fun while it lasted. Although I'm sure all of the Itsuno Hate Brigade "fans" are raving like mad with happiness right now.
I don't hate Itsuno however i am frustrated. You don't get something like DD2 without mismanagement. That's my biggest take away from DD2, it's not just the budget or time constraints but an absolute mishandling of the resources they were given. The map didn't need to be that big for it to have an in-depth open world, most players didn't play DD1 so having an opening that immediately tries to subvert the beginning of the first game is jarring, trying to rework the classes is fine when it doesn't actively make classes like fighter worse.
I love DD1, i love the concepts it introduces, i want it to be better. But how can it be improved if it's so mismanaged on all levels?
Dragon's Dogma is the perfect game we never got. I hope Itsuno can find the support to create an RPG game that's fully realized someday. We'll surely be there !
Curse you capcom, what have you done to my boy
he leaving capcom is good thing
It IS their fault too! NO ONE wants this woke nonsense anymore! I'm still waiting for the game to go bargain bin so I can mod the heck out of it!
@@knightforlorn6731 What is woke about it ? You are so extremely brain rotted if you think DG2 is "woke". Stop watching grifters on youtube man
He wasn’t cooking anything let him go
Tokyo game show had no panel for dragon's dogma 2. Do not expect any news. If it will be announced it will be after monster hunter release at best, so next spring at best.
Great video rift, after the dd2 dlc gets done kento should also jump ship and join Itsuno so they can create what they want. They will definitely be given the money they need
This makes sense now. Crapcom is back in full force. DD2 was an unfinished pile of some good ideas. Itsuno said in an interview, that it is finished and he has done anything he wanted to do, but this interview was strange. He was most likely forced to release and was given a short amount of time to wrap anything he had so far up.
That probably means that there will be no dlc or expansion for DD2. And depending of whose ownership of Dragins Dogma ip is maybe never again a Dragons Dogma game in its true sense. If it is Capcoms, maybe we will get some ip milking game of even entirely diferent genre in the future, how usually is with this things. If the ip is his, he may work more on it in some other studio.
Another OG done dirty. Seems to be Capcom's ongoing trend
Not gonna lie DD2 Is my GOTY right now
I really hope Itsuno can finally make that dream reality game he always wanted to make. I always felt like playing Dragon's dogma that it was a restricted version of that original vision due to budgets and technology limitations. Hopefully we can get a true successor.
Hearing this made me put down my controller. I have been playing dd2 rigorously hoping for add ons and dlcs. This is gut wrenching to hear.
The guy who fixed Dogma 1 can fix Dogma 2 and maybe even make Dogma 3 better, but I also hope Itsuno finds a team that lets him be more expressive. I think he was wrestling with corporate and couldn't do more so he didn't pour more effort into Dogma 2 knowing it was a lost cause.
I wish Itsuno all the best but very much hope that we will still get DD2 DLC . This cant be the end of my favourite game. 😪
A little bird tells me DD2 suffured the same fate as DD1.
Thanks for everything, Itsuno. 💐🎖️
You defined everything I want from a game. 🎮
I'm also 100% sure he left, because he saw how the budget went full on Monster Hunter, while Dragon's Dogma 2 was incomplete (for the second time) and also because Capcom's new policies and tactics would sully his future ideas, so he left to somewhere, where he could trust that his ideas would be respected and remain untouched. He has a lot of weight in his name, any other company would give all the budget they can afford, because they know his games will sell.
Everyone talks about the enemy variety being less, when the majority of enemies that didn't return from the first game were variants of existing ones with different stats, and only a minor of these alt enemies had 1 or 2 additional abilities.
In DD2 the base enemies were given those additional abilities in addition to ones that weren't in the previous game, so it's more complicated than just "less enemy variety".
While it makes me sad to see him go, if it's his goal to FINALLY make his vision unrestricted, then I'm ok with it. I want the Dragon's Dogma that he really intended, not the shell of a game Capcom put out. It also tells me that Capcom may become another Blizzard clone with how they run everything, and I really don't like that idea, cause Capcom is a company I actually like. Also, for those who complain that online co-op would ruin it, no it wouldn't, just don't take out the option for pawns, for those who want to use them or don't like playing co-op. Like NPC summons in Dark Souls.
Wherever the path takes him from now on, I can only thank the legend for the portfolio he's provided to Capcom & all of us, and hope to see him succeed even more in the future.
Hopefully Itsuno can finally make the real dragon's dogma wherever he ends up
12 more years, trust the plan. He definitely won't "lay the foundation" for the third time.
I am bummed. I was hoping for dlc and DD3.
dragon's dogma has changed my life scene it came out and i followed the series since it feels special unlike any myth related games in the world
Really one of the few games I actually felt like a lauded hero too
I platinumed DD back in 2013, the game was so revitalizing it had a lot of competition like MGS Rising Revengeance and other franchise that I always go to but the game got me hooked the moment I tried it it was like what if Monster Hunter had a baby with DMC, I didn't play DD2 yet but Im looking forward to it, hearing Itsuno going on his own seem scary for both DMC and DD.
It’s honestly not unknown, considering capcom themselves said they want to develop DD more as a major title. Sadly, Itsuno is only a visionary. Kinoshita, is the guy with the ability to execute. And WELL. Just look at Dark Arisen.
Never give up! Never say Never! I look forward to his future!
Hoping for TGS news.
I don't even need a trailer, I just want to know what's on their mind and what's in the works!
DD2 has been great but I need those "blanks" to be filled! Monk vocation, additional enemy types and something BBI/Everfall-like would be an absolute perfect for me.
And I hope the future is bright for Itsuno! Thanking him for being one of my all time favorite games creators.
The wind is pushing meee, into the clouds again...damn, its just no the same now, is it?
There was some rumor leak about him joining Square Enix for the next big FF main title.
I really hope Itsuno gets to fulfill his vision of what Dragon's Dogma was supposed to be, even if it can't be part of the IP anymore. As long as his games have climbable monsters, combo interactions, a boss fight on the moon, and something close to pawns with enough polish and scope, we know he's finally done it. I truly wish him the best, and I'm so glad I discovered Dragon's Dogma through a friend a couple years back.
Pawns actually wouldn't be hard to replace. Just have a proper adventurers guild and have a book where you can look for specific party members. I actually think it'd work better than pawns because it would allow you to expand their personalities and for them to have actual objectives and stuff. Really you wouldn't need to change much as you could still make one but instead of appearing at a riftstone they could be your first party member you meet at the guild.
Now im really not buying Monster Hunter Wilds lol
Or probably anything Capcom related for the next couple of years again
what a shitty compagny
how the hell you think this issue is capcom for him to leaving you just dumb the issue is itsuno not capcom, i mean good for you no one gonna miss
Oh ill still buy it.
A hoonter must hoont.
My guess is Capcom screwed him with Dragon's Dogma once again that's why we got what we got so he got fed up and left, I can only wish him the best and eagerly await for his next project which I bet will be awesome.
At this point i really don’t care about DD2 anymore, i simply moved on, so it doesn’t matter to me whether DD2 will have a good dlc or not. We still have DD1 afterall.
Ever since DD1 i was hoping that one day Itsuno will leave Capcom and do something great for his own. He deserves better than how they treat him. Leaving a big company like Capcom might be a good chance for his future, a pure new begin.
Tbh this makes me think that there was a lot more behind the scenes interference with DD2
😞 it is a great shame to know that he bailed out.
But it is also the best “F you” to Capcom in the fact that he got to make both DmC5 and DD2, then just bailed 😂
I think that DD2, as a game, shouldn't have been released when it was. The game still feels incomplete, and there's a lot of rough edges that need polishing. This pertains to several aspects of the game. I don't know what a DLC would look like at this point, but rather than a drastic expansion, like BBI was, the game first needs a major rework that addresses more foundational issues. Then, if that's even possible, we can always hope for a BBI-type of expansion down the road.
Currently, DD2 just lacks a certain 'touch' that the original had, and is clearly not present in this game. I immediately fell in love with the first game, and grew to love it even more as the years went by. DD2 doesn't have that same appeal, and there's no one reason for that, other than a vague matter of fact, which is that they should've spend more time developing the game. But this lack of input does manifest in the game in multiple ways. I can list some examples of this by comparing it to the original game and/or its BBI expansion pack, but I'm not going to do that here, as it would require an in-depth analysis and break-down.
Suffice to say that I think that the game can't really be salvaged, even when we get an expansion DLC. Its problems are too foundational. And I don't think they can correct those in an update. It's like the paint has already dried now, and the painting is sub-par, or below expectations, and at this point, it's too late to go in and change the product on a deep level. Sticking another painting right next to it isn't going to drastically change my opinion, or gaming-experience, I believe. You see, BBI was a wonderful expansion to an admittedly flawed game, but the base game itself was already extremely charming. I don't feel the same way about DD2, so adding a BBI-type of expansion might be fun for a while, but it's not going to make me love the base game all of a sudden. We'll see what happens, although DD2 might just be dead as of now.
Good luck to Itsuno! The man deserves our appreciation for giving us these experiences. I wish him all the best, and I hope we'll get to see more of his creativity in the future.
I couldn't agree more, and to your point if they were going to try to salvage it they should/would have begun immediately with all of the glaring issues they had at release (and almost entirely still have)
I think corporate have already cut their losses and want to make sure they suck every last penny out of the IP with a quick addon, look at the steam commentary on their sad 'update' posts so far; surely they've realized how much damage they've already done.
Coming from someone who plays DD1 to this day and thinks BBI was in the top 3 DLC's of all time, I get no joy out of holding any of these opinions and want some kind of miracle; but
holding out hope that just paying them again for a DLC feels like a fooled me twice type situation.
I think it's safe to assume he left after being let down by Capcom so many times. And I'm not surprised he did. He deserves better.
DD2 being worse than 1 in a number of ways while not surpassing it in any metric aside from graphics made me sad. The core fun stuff is still there, but nothing new added was interesting (other than the Sphinx Riddles), and certain positive mechanics were changed or removed for no good reason. Really bizarre decisions at the fundamental levels were made with 2. Things that a lack of time and budget don’t explain.
How could he ever make a dragon’s dogma spiritual successor without the RE Engine or the talented artists and animators from DDDA & DD2 ??
I somewhat a skeptic with DD2. Is it really a lack of budget this time or was Itsuno's vision straight up blurry?
No time, no budget and corporate bullshit saying it was his true vision not to shame his employer.
I can't believe DD2 was everything he always imagined DD to be. Especially when Dark Arisen was that good.
Want to see his full vision? Check out the GDC Dragon's Dogma, that shit is huge even DD2 looks like a pebble
No it was corpo's not giving it another year in the oven AND the budget to cover that year.
Capcom/Bandai these guys all shove out games with not enough time to bake that are good games but could've been great games.
And to the gamer who loves said IP its only a "what if...?" in the end.
With no result to show for said what if.
Don’t think budget was the main issue think it was time management.
That's his vision just like the DMC combat designer said final fantasy XVI was his best combat yet: lies.
Hopefully he makes own version of DD the way he always wanted
This explains why DD2 felt like it did.... what a shame
Dragon dogma 2 was my biggest disappointment for the year. Honestly I had higher hopes for this game because dd1 was less budget and still provided a great and full experience. 2 is the embodiment of missed potential and I genuinely think the game was fodder for Monster hunter wilds.
Very sad i hope dragon dogma 2 dlc will be announce at tokyo game show. I'm sure Itsuno will continue to creat awesome game i mean i hope.
Kento should of been the director of Dragons Dogma 2...So this is good news since he was the one who directed Dark Arisen and Itsuno had nothing to do with it...Dragons Dogma the original is good, better than DD2 but Dark Arisen is what made this game a cult...Sadly i still think they're going to need to make a 3rd DD game because having only 1 weapon in DD2 completely wrecked the game for me...Not sure DLC can save it
I wonder if we'll ever see DMC again
To be honest Itsuno has just been incompetent, I get that some things may derive from low budget but at the same time there are a lot of bad design choices and decisions that were just incompetence and bad design. Hopefully now that he's gone Capcom will do something to improve the game.
I fully agree, and believe they will, considering capcom did say DD is one of their high priority ips now. So at the very least an expansion will come. After that we'll have to wait and see. But I'm pretty confident it'll do well, since Dark arisen had no itsuno involvement and it was better then the entire main game. Along with the improvements made to the main game themselves.
Maybe we'll get an eternal ferrystone, maybe we'll get a new bitter black isle. That'd be fun.
Honestly yeah i agree, i hope they respect the roots of series while changing it up so that it's a better game.
I think dogma is in good hands with kinoshita and I'm glad that itsuno got to finally make the game and can move on to something new
Man I just got into dragons dogma 2 and then I come in on this crap. I’m really enjoying dragons dogma 2 and I’m heavily addicted to it, hopefully another game creator takes on this game or something because it would be a huge waste of potential.
If there really is DLC, I just hope it comes out before Monster Hunter Wilds. Because I don't see myself quitting Wilds for quiet some time after release.
kento had much better plans for dragons dogma if dragons dogma 2 is more lackluster than 1 maybe its itsuno's fault instead of capcom
its obvious they pulled the same shit they did with the 1st one and left it unfinished
Nothing can save dragon dogma 2.
i just feel like Itsuno know how to make good combat but not the good game, Seeing how Kinoshita kento made DDO and Dark arisen, i feel like he is the one that can make a better game
Correction, DD wasn't his passion project for the past 10 years, it was all his life. He started working on it immediately after Cap vs Snk in 2000. It was going to be a fully fledged 3D version of Shadow Over Mystara. But some clowns at Caps management really didnt want Dogma to take off. THE EXACT same thing happened to Mikami and Fujiwara when they're were working on RE1. Just research how Okamoto tried to cancel the whole game. It can't be a coincidence that top devs keep leaving. Mikami, Kamiya, Kobayashi and now Itsuno.
Honestly I hope he dlc, comes out this year, if not I truly hope it comes out before gta and monster hunter to give it some breathing room cause releasing it in the middle of those two monster titles runs the risk of it getting swallowed up, I truly hope for the best for the dlc
We will be left to wander the fetid halls of BitterBlack Isle forever. 😭
Honestly I’d love a dragons dogma online 2
Hope Itsuno gets to make his own Fantasy RPG. I like Dragons Dogma, but the world and lore never really felt finished or interesting except for some tidbits here and there
HOLY shit, does that mean that DD2 was severely prejudiced due to the negative overviews and backlashes? What i mean with that is speculating that Capcom itself made a low budget to support Itsuno, implemented greedy decisions and worsen the performance of the game itself or what it could HAVE be since it's launch... i dunno, i still have to watch the video fully and read an article about
But Rift, i was suspecting that Dragon's Dogma 2 was prejudiced some way by Capcom itself. Not sure if i was right about it
This is good
Itsuno was also at fault for the lackluster sequel that was DD2
He quit because of the unjustified hate. Why make games for a bunch of children who will trash it for having its own creative direction. You know how entitled you sound expecting someone to come in and tailor make DD2 to what you want. Itsuno made a game he loved and was proud of and couldn't even enjoy the reception, because the whole conversation was hijacked by people crying about micro transactions and much more.
Been a dragons dogma fan ever since the first game came out and with the overall backlash to the game its just disappointing we've waited this long for the dream of ours and Itsuno to get spat at :
Very hot take, I think this may be a good thing for DD2. He was the main reason we never got multiplayer in a game that is quite literally potentially the perfect multiplayer game
how do we download dd online?
What i want for the dlc:
- Snow Area with a snow dragon and other snow creatures
- more dateable characters. Like the elf girl, the thief girl, the cat princess, maybe sven for females, or the black guy. Just give them a unique questline where to have to fix some problems of their life and then date them
- maybe a house for your loved ones
- the houses you buy in new game+ should be free
- more vocations, im still missing the assassine and the advanced archer. Also the trickster should have some previously vocations
- a dark arisen place where you can fight some bosses and get some loot
- hard and speedrun mode
- remove the words "body type" and replace them with male and female
- more weapons and armor
- after new game+ dont remove the port crystals
- NEVER make it like dark souls online mode. It sucks. What they can do is just experience the story as coop but no pvp. Pvp destroyed elden ring for me
- Let us cook in our own house for stats increase
- bring back all enemy types of dark arisen
- bring back darkness magic
- give the sphinx more riddles and for one a infinite travelstone
- make the infinite wakestone permanently
- make rook lv 200 and give him more abilitys and make him strong
- make an anime thats better then the netflix one and remove cgi
- give archer or thief the double jump back
- pve against the ur dragon
If they stymied him again, he certainly wasn't upfront about it
Yeah, i will always like the 1st DD, over DD2. Now that he is gone, future DD games, will be different for sure. Not in a good way, i would imagine.
I'm gonna miss him, but I understand why he did what he did. Capcom is gonna have issues in future.
Great news. Hopefully we get the Dragons Dogma we were supposed to get. Capcom screwed this whole game.
Capcom really went from being disliked in the early 2010s being Dubbed "Crapcom". They redeemed themselves with Resident Evil games , Monster Hunter and DMC5.
They're reverting back and now loosing their talent.
Best of luck to Itsuno, he deserves better.
Couldn’t care less about dragons dogma but very worried about DMC now
Dragons Dogma 2 had sooooo much potential 😢 and I still don't understand how the story and characters were so abysmal
No BBI 2 basically and this game probably crushed his soul. Western reviews of this game didn’t give it a chance.
I have faith in his team, just like he saved devil may cry with 3, maybe Kinoshita can save DD2.
Bro really wasn't happy with how things went.
Looks like DD2 won't be getting any DLC..?
There’s no future for us. Only for him.
😢 This Sucks Man. 😢 Dragon’s Dogma is probably the ONLY High Fantasy Action Role Playing Game I Really Love & Care About.
It’s special, I liked the Witcher 3 but the combat was not fun to me. But nothing else compares to Dragon’s Dogma & Dragon’s Dogma 2 was a tease because I love a lot of the new graphics and animations and no more loading screens and a lot less pop up, but it just didn’t capture that magical feeling like the first one did even though the first want was a total flaws mess when it originally came out, but I still enjoyed it flaws and all and saw so much potential for a future game.. then we got Dragon’s Dogma 2 and it cut out so many good things from the first game that made it better, like combat and fashion etc.. but it has less variety of monsters and bosses, and the loot was not good or rewarding, it just didn’t make sense to have allowed he special gear available for sale and easy to access, Idk.. again DD2 has even more potential but that’s just it, it’s JUST a NEW lever of Potential until we either Get so incredible DLC that blows us all away and improves the base game and beyond or if we are lucky to get a DD3 or something that’s even better, I just hope it’s not another 12 year waiting game.
They probably really just killed off his future in the company. DMCV was already previously said to be the end of the Sons of Sparda story so there's likely going to be no future game or a completely original sequel story after that (which might not be good). DD2 seems to be just squeezed out to what he could create with a very limited scope, and seeing as MHWilds is more in focus now and no DD2, I'm guessing that's it. Capcom really just wants to cut off a number of their good IPs like Megaman before.
Welp, it was fun while it lasted
Capcom still burning their own bridges I see.
