Are you able to update in advance of the launch date? If so...how? I am in Australia and am listing items daily but there is no new category/s for used items yet! Confused as to how you have done this.
While i obviously try to avoid purchasing items with defects, every now and then it happens. I feel like lots of sellers wont list it, but ive had a decent amount of success selling items with some flaws. If youre sourcing good high value items to begin with and keeping buy cost low, you still can make some money with these flawed items. As for whether or not this update will hurt those flawed items, i dont believe it will too much. The buyer that wants a perfect item was deeply checking photos and description already, this just made it easier for them. But the buyers buying flawed items either just care about how cheap it is or simply just want to wear the brand. This also made it easier for them in my opinion. Sure this update might eliminate some “window shopping”, but i dont think window shoppers were buying flawed items. Unless you sell women’s clothes. That’s why I completely stopped selling women’s clothing. The only returns I ever get are on women’s items no matter how well described with detailed pictures and measurements
@@vaderladyl all my returns came from women’s items. Whether clothing or shoes. Since I cut selling women’s items down to a minimum I hardly ever get returns. Unless it’s someone trying to scam from the door and that’s rare
I agree with the move that eBay is making . I also feel that the items in the pre owned category, should not be listed at the same price, because they are pre owned. When the price suggestion comes up for a like item that I a selling, you can clearly see that the items quality is very different than mine.
I don’t think this will change the INAD claims and may increase them due to the subjective nature of these changes. My clothing returns are due to fit not condition.
hopefully it will help. I have bought clothes and had to return them because they were too worn and didn't say, and you couldn't tell from the pictures, like if the buttons are loose. Once I bought a blouse and it was sewn shut so you had to put it over your head. No longer a blouse in my opinion. They didn't even mention it.
To me I believe this will be good in the long run. It will definitely weed out any sellers who are trying to get over on buyers. There will be a learning curve, true, but as long as you are honest and give a detailed description to the best of your ability and include detailed photos, it will work. The only question would be those buyers that still try to get one over on the sellers. It will depend on what the seller will be looking for.
I think people are going to go for the excellent items. I also think it’s going to hurt items that are great items with a small flaw which would fall under good.
I agree. I sell a lot that I label "very good" which of course falls in between. That is disappointing. I'll just have to source excellent items from now on. 😊
This will force people to up their game for quality items. It will also cull the junk and reduce the clutter which will likely also help with sell through rates for quality items. I don't sell much clothing, but I've always wanted something like this for other categories where used items have many different levels. This is a good start. eBay's finally doing something useful, it feels weird to say.
I like this change! I’m always afraid if i sell something with a flaw that the buyer won’t know that until they get it. And I don’t accept returns so that’s a negative review. I think being able to filter to “excellent” is a really good idea!
Thank you for cliff notes video. It’s a blessing. I think this is a net positive. Mercari does this. I’ve never had a return there. It’s good for a buyer to know what to expect. It’s inevitable that it will impact the fair items. But I think it will help to buyers overall feelings toward eBay, which is a net positive for me. Hopefully it will help keep buyers and bring more buyers there over time.
I think this is a good change. I sell my items really low and I always get asked if there are rips or tears and it is frustrating for me because it is one more task to address, now hopefully we can see a big reduction in condition questions.
Thank you so much for this update! I’ve been wanting to sell on eBay for years, but have procrastinated. The time is now! I think the updates on specific conditions will be helpful for both buyers and sellers.
So at what point can we start to change the listing? Do we wait until ebay does the automatic change to Good, and then go in and make the changes to Excellent or Fair?
I am loving this anything that will get the buyer to find what they are looking for! I always inspect my items before i list it. if i find any damages i just toss it its not worth any neg. feedback.
I think it depends on what you’re looking for. If you are looking for a button down shirt for work you may select excellent condition. If you are looking for a 1968 Rolling Stones concert shirt you may prefer fair with a lot of wear.
They didn’t make Rolling Stones concert tees in 1968. Not til ‘69. He says, half tongue-in-cheek, lol. Not sure when Wonderland really began cranking out product, and for who.. WHO??
Thanks for the info! I take more pictures than most other sellers and I hoped that would have helped show my items better but now there is another step. I can’t see myself taking less pictures and choosing these selections but as with every other update I’m sure we will all overcome.
I think eBay needs to fix their search fast and first. It has been broken for a while. When you do a search, you get thousands of items that show up that have nothing to do with the keywords you type in.
eBay did this with sports cards over a year ago to further refining the possible condition of a card. Its good for buyers, but at the end of the day buyers don't read they look at pictures. A bump on excellent at most.
Based on what has now been defined by eBay, we should only be sourcing and listing used clothing in excellent condition. Hopefully for most of us, this isn't a big change.
This will also help us with comps because we can compare our items with more like items. I find it hard clicking through items to see if they are flawed or not. It isn't always in condition, may only be in pics, may only be in description.
When I’m searching for something to buy, I hardly ever filter by condition. I guess if they put a stop point in there where you have to put something in it would be different. This is the evolution of the business, so I think we will have to up our game or be left in the dust! ETA: I just realized it would default to “good”. Opinion is still the same. Adapt or die.
I wonder if they would still need to make these changes if the customer had been able to see the condition description and item description on the phone in the first place. If those had been in place maybe none of this would be taking place.
They’ve added a level of complexity that is subjective. “You said it was excellent but it only looks good to me! I don’t want a full refund I want a partial price reduction!” I won’t use excellent that much.
I mean it will help when you selling items that are ment to be destroyed thrashed distressed as well. I think like any change it will take time for everyone to adjust. Whatnot kinda already has this as setting the quality of an item.
Agree - net positive. Initially I could see it hurting flawed items especially with buyers that actually use the filtering. Think this places more importance on condition based pricing too and pricing right for flaws. Thanks for sharing the knowledge as always. Happy holidays!
Also a lot of discretion still open on the elements like you pointed out. is a zipper and a button minor or moderate? that's just 1 of a million examples. A pull on a shirt, an ink spot, etc
Personally as a very brand new seller - (4 weeks) I think this is a very good thing. However I also feel that this will hindere the items that have flaws. This is going to lower the bar of sale price on these items. However it will also raise the bar of the items on Ebay in quality however that is also going to allow the increase in price. I feel that this may or may not be good for quicker sales.
I sell used clothes and shoes had two returns all year ..returns aren't an issue if you measure and picture everything well I think this new policy will result in more returns not less if you say it's excellent it's very subjective
Are your photos, description and items already in excellent condition now? If so, why would this increase your returns? I think if we are honest and don't over promise & under deliver then I think it will be okay. But time will surely tell!
@@technsports When I say more returns I was meaning on the platform over all most sellers are going to say good-excellent when it's clearly not . Hopefully personally my returns won't increase I already don't bother listing anything border line and sell it off at the car boot ..
People, I suppose, will still be able to navigate by lowest price plus shipping. I believe a majority of ebay buyers are still looking for money savings above all.
I think it will be good once you get over the change. I am already used to this system on depop and grailed. The distressed/destroyed jeans will be interesting since that is what I primarily sell as those are in demand. I would make them used-good like I do in depop and grailed.
You are right about "distressed" - I think we should ummm what is the word? Lobby ebay to add a Manufactured Distressed condition LOL. Well, actually what do you think? A funny thought or a good one?
I'm a buyer and seller, for vintage only I will purposely check for Preowned Acceptable, but when it comes to newer modern items I don't think ppl will want to buy those items only Excellent and Good will perform best
I don’t sell an item if it has 3 or more flaws. I avoid faded items unless it’s a really good vintage piece or it’s made that way. I learned a long time ago that there are a lot of excellent used pieces in eBay, so it’s useless to try to sell seriously flawed items. They won’t sell or they will be returned even if all the flaws are listed in the description. Plus it takes time to detail all the flaws if there are several.
A lot of Buyers already click lowest to highest so they are already voluntarily saying “show me the worst.” Really depends on what we sell and how many options buyers have. If we are trying to sell Gap and Banana Republic then that thing better be in excellent or brand new condition or fahgettaboudit.
No one reads anymore so this new ordeal could help. What about smells? I NEVER sell anything that has smoke smells. I have purchased two items lately with horrible smoke smells yet was not mentioned in the description. Where can they make sure sellers disclose SMELLS?! As a seller, I have begun to basically only pick up excellent condition clothing. EXCEPT vintage t shirts, ect. Would I list a torn up Y2K affliction shirt as fair? Would that then deter buyers due to the filters? Hmmmm. Questions!!!
eBay info sheet mentioned SNAD, do they have a buyer choice of INAD and SNAD on returns?? The gray area is tricky for an excellent piece with one minor flaw. Example - I sold a high end puffer vest in EUC condition that had the flexible plastic logo tab zipper pull missing (disclosed). Now it would have to be listed as good pre-owned instead of excellent pre owned. This will change the flea market buying landscape too, if you are sourcing there. I think eBay buyers will only want excellent unless there is a significant price reduction for good or lower on common items.
Great content, as always! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
@@sheilamaloney3932 3 days after you received the item works fine in other platforms, in 3 days you can inspect the item and know if it fits you right or not.
The biggest pain I see is having to go through all your inventory to make sure what condition it falls into especially for excellent ! Most my stuff should fall into the excellent condition but will definitely be going through to make sure! Especially if you have a large store it could take a while! I think I’m going to get ahead of the game and start going through my stuff now so when the time comes it will go smoothly and no guessing!
If I've checked the item thoroughly and consider it excellent condition, the buyer gets the item and thinks it is in good condition or worse, what are the consequences? The new update might increase the likelihood of INADs and defective claims. This would make it bad in cases where sellers do not accept returns or the buyer has to pay for return shipping. I offer free returns and would not be surprised to see an uptick in buyers returning the item, or even worse, buyers wanting a partial refund.
My 2 cents is we gonna have to step up and find better items. But when it comes to vintage it’s really gonna be a GRAY AREA! My concern would be a buyer selecting a good or fair item then complaining it’s not what they expected 😅😢
We sell primarily vintage so I too am interested in how this plays out on vintage. I think we’ll still be able to play this to our advantage in the long run.
I like the update. My concern is with the many Reverse Print Hawaiian shirts I sell. Some buyers may claim the shirt is faded, when it is pale by design just like the cut jeans you mention.
In the long run, anytime streamlining and standardization can be thoughtfully implemented, it can only benefit all involved, with understanding that nothing is perfect. Personally, I try to be very open and forward disclosing flaws. I take photos of everything and put them starting on photo 2 or 3 from the main photo. I write every flaw in my condition and copy said condition into my description. As a final step, when my items sell and the condition is anything less than "Gently used", which is my flawless condition, I message the buyer prior to shipping to touch base with them on the condition. People seem very receptive of this customer services. Also, I offer 30 day free returns.
How can holes be considered good? I already show in pictures and describe any flaws. Good I would consider stitching flaw, missing button, something than can be easily fixed, not something with holes.
Course it is the best...to me...the only problem is with the factory jeans with holes already...so is new cause came with them...on condition...I always but in the condition box about the condition of the clothing item...but i only sell a few at moment then January will do more and more...and get out of the craft items...and more jewelry! just not sure about listing clothing but will try more...
I like this idea! I also agree it is subjective, BUT I think it will be ok if we as sellers keep our standards high, take the good photos, and provide useful info in the description. I agree with you, most people will go straight for excellent or good. Even most consignments only accept gently used. However, a part of me will want to see what’s in the fair category because, afterall, it’s subjective! 😉 might find a terrific piece in that category.
So sport jerseys in the sports goods category will not have this requirement? I don’t have a problem with this requirement but I have clothes in other categories including anime merchandise.
Not a positive change- ✅ More INAD cases once buyers figure it out- ✅ I think it only will really apply to people who buy on a computer and I believe most purchase per mobile device- ✅ Highly doubt eBay will end your listing, more likely will default to good- ✅ eBay should worry about buyers not paying immediately upon purchase and not give them 2 months to actually return an item- ✅
@@technsports Just don't want to confuse people because you said @ about 825 time stamp that eBay might end your listing which is highly doubtful since that's not how it reads.
I don't sell on eBay (I use Depop) and we've had these categories for as long as I can remember. Honestly, most people just have all the conditions (Depop default) and it doesn't seem to change that much. If anything, this will make users really look at their inventory. What if you have a vintage band tee that is faded, has holes, etc? You're still gonna charge a hefty price and the distressing can be a benefit, but it would need to go to the "Acceptable" category where it may potentially get less eyes. Obviously, Lululemon and other BOLO brands won't be worth as much when they have rips, tears, holes, etc. Also, what if a shirt has minor yellowing? Are users gonna put in the time to try and treat those types of stains if that means you can bump it up from the "Good" category to "Excellent" and make more? Hard to say. I pray for all the people who have edit hundreds, if not thousands, listings though.
I think excellent condition items may rise to the top.. With the exception of very high STR items, I'll still always pickup a Good or Fair condition Sitka or Kuiu hoodie
Don't seem to have gotten this update? Can you add a Hyperlink? thanks Want to start using their new terminology now on my new listings.👍 As far as the new conditions. I think it might be better if their were "Very Good" between "Good" (No one will click on it) and "Excellent" (They'll expect it to be new...) People are people after all..
A few folks I know have gotten the email and also ecommerncebytes has done a write up on it as well www.ecommercebytes.com/C/blog/blog.pl?/pl/2024/12/1734903329.html
This should be a good thing overall; and as a side benefit, I will force me to go through me store and take a look at my listings. I know I can bulk edit, but this will make me look at some of the things in my store that need to be "fixed". Of course that's easier with a store like mine that has 400.
Maybe ebay is trying to clean up their site, eliminate some old data, and sell better clothing. ? I dont see "fair" clothes selling unless they are work clothes or rare. Maybe a few vintage items. And alot of sellers will not go in and update their items.
I've started checking with buyers before I send the item to be absolutely sure they read my description. It's a pain, but not as big a pain as getting that stupid notification sound and then seeing a return. ESPECIALLY around the holidays. Tons of inexperienced buyers.

Unless you sell women’s clothes. That’s why I completely stopped selling women’s clothing. The only returns I ever get are on women’s items no matter how well described with detailed pictures and measurements
@@BigDirtDawg I sell womens clothes, it has higher returns but I actually barely get any myself.
@@vaderladyl all my returns came from women’s items. Whether clothing or shoes. Since I cut selling women’s items down to a minimum I hardly ever get returns. Unless it’s someone trying to scam from the door and that’s rare
Agreed
I agree with the move that eBay is making . I also feel that the items in the pre owned category, should not be listed at the same price, because they are pre owned. When the price suggestion comes up for a like item that I a selling, you can clearly see that the items quality is very different than mine.
Price suggestion can be wildly off. Definitely check into looking into actual similar items.
Not done yet how difficult is the transition. I current have around 5k items that are clothes. Is it a group all edit or single edit?
Yet to be seen
I don’t think this will change the INAD claims and may increase them due to the subjective nature of these changes.
My clothing returns are due to fit not condition.
It'll be interesting to see how it plays out across the entire platform in time
Agree
Let me guess women’s clothing correct?
hopefully it will help. I have bought clothes and had to return them because they were too worn and didn't say, and you couldn't tell from the pictures, like if the buttons are loose. Once I bought a blouse and it was sewn shut so you had to put it over your head. No longer a blouse in my opinion. They didn't even mention it.
Interesting
that is really bad listing. They were supposed to write that down on the description.
I agree!
I think people are going to go for the excellent items. I also think it’s going to hurt items that are great items with a small flaw which would fall under good.
Good takeaway. It'll certainly be different for those types of items
Lol. Well put
I think it's a good change. And thanks for the tip on getting ours to excellent quickly! Im excited to see how that goes!
Let's do it!
I like this change! I’m always afraid if i sell something with a flaw that the buyer won’t know that until they get it. And I don’t accept returns so that’s a negative review. I think being able to filter to “excellent” is a really good idea!
Yes and continue to describe it accurately
@ definitely!
Improving buyer sentiment is always a positive
I think this is a good change. I sell my items really low and I always get asked if there are rips or tears and it is frustrating for me because it is one more task to address, now hopefully we can see a big reduction in condition questions.
Great point, thanks Levar!
Thank you so much for this update! I’ve been wanting to sell on eBay for years, but have procrastinated. The time is now! I think the updates on specific conditions will be helpful for both buyers and sellers.
Get started let's go!
So at what point can we start to change the listing? Do we wait until ebay does the automatic change to Good, and then go in and make the changes to Excellent or Fair?
You have to wait until it rolls out
Great video. Thanks for the clarification on the issue.
My pleasure, good luck in 2025!
I am loving this anything that will get the buyer to find what they are looking for! I always inspect my items before i list it. if i find any damages i just toss it its not worth any neg. feedback.
This is the way!
Joining group Jan 1st!!! I need deductions for next year.
See you there! Drop an introduction post when you get into the group & I'll send you some helpful links!
As a buyer, I would not use the left hand navigation so I could see ALL results and not miss any bangers hiding in the algo.
yep, i never do.
I think ebay will steer buyers to use the navigation. You'll have to do an extra step not to use it. At least at first
I think it depends on what you’re looking for.
WHO??
Certainly some items benefit from flaws, some it hurts
I think this will help me as a reseller when researching my pricing.
Right on!
Thanks for the info! I take more pictures than most other sellers and I hoped that would have helped show my items better but now there is another step. I can’t see myself taking less pictures and choosing these selections but as with every other update I’m sure we will all overcome.
It'll all work out in the end. Just be a small pain in the beginning transferring items over to the proper conditions
I think eBay needs to fix their search fast and first. It has been broken for a while. When you do a search, you get thousands of items that show up that have nothing to do with the keywords you type in.
You think so?
eBay did this with sports cards over a year ago to further refining the possible condition of a card. Its good for buyers, but at the end of the day buyers don't read they look at pictures. A bump on excellent at most.
I think so too
Based on what has now been defined by eBay, we should only be sourcing and listing used clothing in excellent condition. Hopefully for most of us, this isn't a big change.
Not necessarily, but we should list them correctly under the new standards
I think it could be good. However, coming from other categories, arbitrary grading scales can also create issues.
Hopefully it's for the good
This will also help us with comps because we can compare our items with more like items. I find it hard clicking through items to see if they are flawed or not. It isn't always in condition, may only be in pics, may only be in description.
Good point as well. Unless sellers junk up the conditions
I think ebay will train customers to use this condition feature pretty heavy especially in the beginning
I wonder if they would still need to make these changes if the customer had been able to see the condition description and item description on the phone in the first place. If those had been in place maybe none of this would be taking place.
Mobile is certainly frustrating
I think other platforms weed out imperfections in most used clothing I think the only acceptable damage is in vintage t-shirts and anything denim
Yes most platforms do
I love this since I've already been doing this myself. I use good, fair, and thrashed conditions on my descriptions to let the buyer know.
Good work!
They’ve added a level of complexity that is subjective. “You said it was excellent but it only looks good to me! I don’t want a full refund I want a partial price reduction!” I won’t use excellent that much.
We will see how it ends up playing out. It's good in theory.
I mean it will help when you selling items that are ment to be destroyed thrashed distressed as well. I think like any change it will take time for everyone to adjust.
Whatnot kinda already has this as setting the quality of an item.
A lot of sites have this as options, ebay is finally adapting
Agree - net positive. Initially I could see it hurting flawed items especially with buyers that actually use the filtering. Think this places more importance on condition based pricing too and pricing right for flaws. Thanks for sharing the knowledge as always. Happy holidays!
Great point, happy holidays!
Also a lot of discretion still open on the elements like you pointed out. is a zipper and a button minor or moderate? that's just 1 of a million examples. A pull on a shirt, an ink spot, etc
Yeah time will tell lol
Personally as a very brand new seller - (4 weeks) I think this is a very good thing. However I also feel that this will hindere the items that have flaws. This is going to lower the bar of sale price on these items. However it will also raise the bar of the items on Ebay in quality however that is also going to allow the increase in price. I feel that this may or may not be good for quicker sales.
Great input, time we certainly tell how it plays out
I sell used clothes and shoes had two returns all year ..returns aren't an issue if you measure and picture everything well
I think this new policy will result in more returns not less if you say it's excellent it's very subjective
@bigtony4829 I think I agree with you on that.
yeah I think this is going to be worse actually. Could give the buyer more ammunition against the seller lol.
People, I suppose, will still be able to navigate by lowest price plus shipping. I believe a majority of ebay buyers are still looking for money savings above all.
I think a lot of buyers do sort by lowest price. I think ebay will also educate and heavily prompt buyers to utilize the new conditions
I think it will be good once you get over the change. I am already used to this system on depop and grailed. The distressed/destroyed jeans will be interesting since that is what I primarily sell as those are in demand. I would make them used-good like I do in depop and grailed.
Good input I think it'll be a positive as well
You are right about "distressed" - I think we should ummm what is the word? Lobby ebay to add a Manufactured Distressed condition LOL. Well, actually what do you think? A funny thought or a good one?
Lol. I think intentionally factory distressed would still go in excellent, if it's made like that
Thank you for all your great info!
My pleasure, thank you Maria!
I'm a buyer and seller, for vintage only I will purposely check for Preowned Acceptable, but when it comes to newer modern items I don't think ppl will want to buy those items only Excellent and Good will perform best
I think most buyers may follow suit
Thank you for the update ❤❤
My pleasure, are you going to take advantage of this short window for the gold rush?
I don’t sell an item if it has 3 or more flaws. I avoid faded items unless it’s a really good vintage piece or it’s made that way. I learned a long time ago that there are a lot of excellent used pieces in eBay, so it’s useless to try to sell seriously flawed items. They won’t sell or they will be returned even if all the flaws are listed in the description. Plus it takes time to detail all the flaws if there are several.
Condition is important
Does this include shoes? I can see it being a nightmare for shoe sellers
Not yet but I'd bet it's rolling out to other categories
A lot of Buyers already click lowest to highest so they are already voluntarily saying “show me the worst.” Really depends on what we sell and how many options buyers have. If we are trying to sell Gap and Banana Republic then that thing better be in excellent or brand new condition or fahgettaboudit.
If you check media. A lot of the lowest grade condition is still priced as if it was mint
All of these are excellent points!
they are supposed to, in the description box below. maybe they couldn't even smell it, they are so used to the smell.
Maybe they'll create a box the seller can check if it has cigarette smell
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this is similar to condition in sport cards mint, near mint, good, fair ect?
Yes similar
eBay info sheet mentioned SNAD, do they have a buyer choice of INAD and SNAD on returns?? The gray area is tricky for an excellent piece with one minor flaw. Example - I sold a high end puffer vest in EUC condition that had the flexible plastic logo tab zipper pull missing (disclosed). Now it would have to be listed as good pre-owned instead of excellent pre owned. This will change the flea market buying landscape too, if you are sourcing there. I think eBay buyers will only want excellent unless there is a significant price reduction for good or lower on common items.
Snad and inad are the same thing
Great content, as always! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
Probably www.ebay.com
Thanks for the heads up!! I'll be ready. 😁
Let's go!
For me it’s helpful but it will be better if they change the 30 days return time on clothes for 3 days return.
I don't think that'll ever happen
No. 3 days isn't enough time.
For the first time I'm thankful I don't have 50,000 items anymore
If you have NWT will that also transfer to good?
NWT looks like it will stay NWT
If I've checked the item thoroughly and consider it excellent condition, the buyer gets the item and thinks it is in good condition or worse, what are the consequences? The new update might increase the likelihood of INADs and defective claims. This would make it bad in cases where sellers do not accept returns or the buyer has to pay for return shipping. I offer free returns and would not be surprised to see an uptick in buyers returning the item, or even worse, buyers wanting a partial refund.
Good takeaway. Will be interesting to see how it plays out!
I also feel like this just gives more of a reason to nitpick and put items under a magnifying glass to justify a return.
My 2 cents is we gonna have to step up and find better items. But when it comes to vintage it’s really gonna be a GRAY AREA! My concern would be a buyer selecting a good or fair item then complaining it’s not what they expected 😅😢
Vintage will be tricky. It'll be interesting
We sell primarily vintage so I too am interested in how this plays out on vintage. I think we’ll still be able to play this to our advantage in the long run.
@@technsportsagreed
Interesting the new policy doesn't affect sports clothing category
I like the update. My concern is with the many Reverse Print Hawaiian shirts I sell. Some buyers may claim the shirt is faded, when it is pale by design just like the cut jeans you mention.
A lot of people don't know about the reverse print
you need to mention that on your listing description.
Free returns is the way
this will affect us the vintage sellers....will have a brainstorm deciding between the categories
Definitely a lot of nuance in vintage
Is this for clothing only or anything that you list?
Clothing for now
Are you saying put good condition items as excellent even though they are not?
I did not say that
They are making this change right after the holidays and just when I have to start working in my taxes
Thanks Ebay 😢
Usually they make it right during the holiday and screw up 4th quarter
How can holes be considered good? I already show in pictures and describe any flaws. Good I would consider stitching flaw, missing button, something than can be easily fixed, not something with holes.
It'll be interesting to see what happens with the nuance.
Give it a go!
excellent tips tech … i guess we need to double check our conditions
Definitely do!
what is a "pre loved partner" designation? How does a seller get that title?
It's by invite
Thank you
Thank you as well
I like this idea!
Thanks Kendra! Great input!
Thank you for so much helpful info! Appreciate you!
My pleasure! Appreciate you as well
I’m curious, if a shirt like lululemon is in excellent condition with no stains/holes or flaws BUT is missing the tag where does it fall?
still excellent , it is irrelevant to the condition. Put a disclaimer on the description saying tag is missing.
That does not seem like a metric they are tracking and assessing condition on
So sport jerseys in the sports goods category will not have this requirement? I don’t have a problem with this requirement but I have clothes in other categories including anime merchandise.
Does not look like this will roll out to sports categories on the initial roll out. Maybe later
Not a positive change- ✅
More INAD cases once buyers figure it out- ✅
I think it only will really apply to people who buy on a computer and I believe most purchase per mobile device- ✅
Highly doubt eBay will end your listing, more likely will default to good- ✅
eBay should worry about buyers not paying immediately upon purchase and not give them 2 months to actually return an item- ✅
it will default to Good, I read.
It will default to good as we talked about during the video
@@technsports Just don't want to confuse people because you said @ about 825 time stamp that eBay might end your listing which is highly doubtful since that's not how it reads.
??? Thank you for the information. Do you happen to know when they will make it available for us to make these changes?
Probably not until the roll out date
First time I'm thankful I don't have 50,000 items anymore
I think excellent condition items may rise to the top.. With the exception of very high STR items, I'll still always pickup a Good or Fair condition Sitka or Kuiu hoodie
Interesting. We shall see how it plays out
This is definitely a positive and needs to be moved to all categories, not just clothing.
I think it'll be a positive in the long run as well
It makes sense since eBay already has condition categories for media.
Yes, will probably roll out eventually site wide
Good overall, could be a protection for buyer; once upgraded! Most sellers pick good clothes in the first place ~ my opinion!!
Hopefully it increases sales
Don't seem to have gotten this update? Can you add a Hyperlink? thanks Want to start using their new terminology now on my new listings.👍 As far as the new conditions. I think it might be better if their were "Very Good" between "Good" (No one will click on it) and "Excellent" (They'll expect it to be new...) People are people after all..
A few folks I know have gotten the email and also ecommerncebytes has done a write up on it as well
www.ecommercebytes.com/C/blog/blog.pl?/pl/2024/12/1734903329.html
This should be a good thing overall; and as a side benefit, I will force me to go through me store and take a look at my listings. I know I can bulk edit, but this will make me look at some of the things in my store that need to be "fixed". Of course that's easier with a store like mine that has 400.
Always a good idea to fix the listings!
It could hurt flawed items you're selling moneywise. But it keeps things honest though.
Honest is the best policy
@technsports I totally agree
Maybe ebay is trying to clean up their site, eliminate some old data, and sell better clothing. ? I dont see "fair" clothes selling unless they are work clothes or rare. Maybe a few vintage items. And alot of sellers will not go in and update their items.
It'll be interesting to see what happens with lower quality or if sellers muddy up the higher tiers with junk
I've started checking with buyers before I send the item to be absolutely sure they read my description. It's a pain, but not as big a pain as getting that stupid notification sound and then seeing a return. ESPECIALLY around the holidays. Tons of inexperienced buyers.
How can you do this at scale?
@@technsports should have specified if item has damage or stains.
