I spent 3 weeks crossing the Sahara Desert in December 1986 from Gao, Mali to Andrars, Algeria. The canopy of stars at night took my breath away and made me dizzy to look at it. The light pollution in our typical city has robbed so many of seeing the Milky Way and the multitude of stars, each with planets and possibly life, orbiting around them.
However, the stars you can see at night are only those that are closest to our solar system. It's just a small radius within the milky way that we can observe with the naked eye. Everything outside that small radius is invisible to us without technology - and even then the existence of many objects may be more hypothetical than actually proven. For example, we know of the existence of black holes not because we can see them (that's impossible) but because we can observe how it influences things that cross its path, like light that is curved around that massive object instead of going in a straight line.
@@urnan4000 What you see is everything BUT the black hole. It's just that where there should be something we don't see anything but black (nothing) and that's how we know there must be a black hole. However, seeing a black hole itself is impossible because no light is ever reflected once it's close enough to the event horizon.

For some reason many people *freak. the. fk. out.* and snAP! when they travel - just being outside of their general comfort zone even temporarily can cause extreme stress, anxiety, and make them totally miserable - so that you often just don't expect it (I've traveled with a few people who just totally fkg lose it, and you don't really see it coming but end up seeing them reduced to the worst of themselves!) But this guy seems to genuinely thrive on the pursuit of the unknown, and many things that would undoubtedly be a source of great stress & make so many other people absolutely miserable seems to give this guy a child like thrill and engage his sense of curiosity & wonder - kinda like the concept of - *"there are some things in life that you do not necessarily because they are fun or otherwise pleasurable, but for the experience itself"* like eating a ghost pepper, but come out of it laughing (after crying and calling the paramedics of course - or whatever 😉 👍

Don't feel too bad about your cultural faux pas... when I was 17 I visited Tokyo and removed my black Ugg boot to reveal a hairy white tube sock in the middle of a busy subway and then promptly scratched my foot, to the horror of my father and everyone else on the subway. One lady was actually wretching. The itch consumed me which is the only reason I did it but my dad quickly told me what a big no no foot stuff is in Japan. I was such an idiot.
Anything about a shower or bathroom? I’m actually interested to see what all different tribes do when it comes to grooming and cleaning yourself! Also I can’t imagine living with so much sand! It’s like a beach minus the fun part 😂 these people are so interesting I want to know what they think of the sand too I can’t stop wondering how much sand do you consume together with your meals? So many questions!
Notice the solar panel by the well, and a hose going down into it. In other words, their hand-raising of the bucket wasn't necessary when they could have used the pump. I have seen the same arrangement among nomads in Morocco. While the video is a nice little travelogue, it only really shows two foreigners camping out with some people in the desert for 24 hours. It's more about them than the nomads, who barely make it on-screen.
These people don't have much. the fact that they share their food and water with guests shows their generosity.

Heyy thanks Lala. If you like this one, you haven’t seen anything yet!
Wow! Only brave people can do this! Just wow!
My favorite part was when you guys went get water 💦 from the well in the middle of a vast desert 🐪❤️
@Fearless and Far @Eva zu Beck adventures were all epic..very impressive❤️
Keep up the great work, buddy. Love your documentaries!
It’s like a beach minus the fun part 😂 these people are so interesting
I want to know what they think of the sand too
I can’t stop wondering how much sand do you consume together with your meals?
So many questions!
watching this video I feel so grateful of the little things I have, and makes me count my blessings 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Do you want to try it 👍
Notice the solar panel by the well, and a hose going down into it.
