I love mine. Often, I have S7 - S9 plus noise, but the filters can really help to pull in the signals. I also set my "Filter" to "M" for medium. It also seems to help. Thanks for the great videos. Ruth really has a voice that is easy to understand, especially in less than optimum conditions.
I noticed your receiver has the AGC set at "Fast". The audio sounds highly compressed. The received audio would sound natural if you would set it to "Slow AGC". Just a suggestion.
Yea, if you narrow your filter to M or N, it would sound a lot better. I have one of these and it was nice during field day with all the noise going on.
I'm beginning to really like my IC-7200 filters and bandpass features ( a bit heavy for the field pack in and pack out as a pedestrian /P operation ) ..... really helpful on CW =) LiPo 4 batteries help in the weight from the wet type old lead acid cells =)
man I wish she was that strong on me, I live very close to the net control (less than 100 miles) most of the time she is covered up by noise (QRM/QRN) but Im able to check in now and then. on the 29th I couldn't hear a thing.
Commsprepper You and I both know it is only a matter of time; I would never pass up a $99 one, to throw in the ole Faraday cage. Saving up for either ID-51+ or IC-7100; not sure which will be 1st. I got my Tech 2 weeks ago, and I was stunned at how dead/quite/boring 2m/70cm is. I have repeaters everywhere linked together for 3 states, and crickets outside of Skywarn Nets and the occasional lonely drivers heading home. VERY anti-climatic.
Wow... The rumored pricing suggests BaoFeng intends to dominate the HF Transceiver market in a similar fashion that they have supplanted the VHF and UHF handheld world. We could not verify at this moment, but the suggested retail price for the Tsunami is $180.00 US! forums.qrz.com/index.php?threads/baofang-purchased-tokyo-hi-power-assets-new-sdf-hf-radio-in-design.493675/
You'd regret and always be afraid your radio will fail when you don't want it to. Will not buy Chinapo radios for a while that's for sure, Japanese brands are much more reliable.

Great radio! On 40 and 80 meters I also almost always run with the attenuator turned on. The ANF works great too.
+Scott Young I still need to learn all the features. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
I have an IC-7200 also. It has become my favorite HF rig. My TS-830Ss are a close second.
Too bad they discontinued the IC-7200.
Still available! I just ordered one! 1.5 week backorder.

Thanks for the tip.
Larry is right. SSB is always easier to listen to with slow decay AGC. Fast AGC is for CW and digital modes.

Thank you for the demonstration
Thanks for the channel support.
I missed the TAPRN net this week due to being sick in bed. I plan on checking in next Sunday. 73, KC5SAS
+cellblock776 Hope you are feeling better. I will try and check in next weekend too.
Very nice radio.

Now I remember why I got out of Ham Radio. The QRM and atmospherics wore me out.
+Wes41 some nights are bad for sure.

+Butter Bean I sometimes have trouble copying too.
Now all we need is Baofeng to make an $99 HF radio.
+Bruce Wayne I hope not... I am not a fan of the cheap import radios. The quality control is almost non-exiting.

Great radio!
+Appalachian Freedom Outdoors Yes it is. I am very pleased with its performance.
You can get them for a good price now too. If I could only get my Rich Uncle out of the Poor House!
cool! :)
+livinright Thanks! It's a great radio!
You can clean up the audio by turning rf gain down till just the good signal is heard then turn volume up as well.
+John Nugent Thanks for the tip. Hank
