    Howdy Roger! Greetings from the great state of Missouri, near the Lake of the Ozarks. After watching your videos on the Longer B1 48w I couldn’t wait to save up for one of my own. I’m coming from an xTool 10w original not pro. It was a workhorse and I learned tons with it. I got my B1 yesterday and assembled it, but it was just a red hair bigger than my custom enclosure. I quickly set about tearing into the thing and cutting some expansion joints. I should finish it today (or tomorrow) and the smoke can finally clear from my office (spare bedroom). What’s the coolest project you’ve completed on your machine? Could one of your newest videos have that as the featured content? Thank you for your awesome videos and your contribution to the craft. Love the new intro, btw. Really cool. “…and remember, if a woman doesn’t find you handsome, she should at least find ya handy.” ~Red Green

      Since I have several lasers, I have the luxury of dedicating them to specific jobs. My B1 is dedicated to cutting only and the latest "hot project" has been medieval castles for a local craft shop. May show this in the future, but the designs are proprietary and will not be shared.

    Hi, thanks for the video, very informative. So, I have a B1 20W and have been thinking about upgrading to the 40W. I just want to make sure on something: You don't have to change out the motherboard when you upgrade? Thanks!

      No. But mine came with a larger power supply.

    Hello Roger!I have glasses and kept wondering how to get another pair of goggles over these, until I saw these goggles on you.
    Can you please post a link to where you bought them? I understand that it is not to play with these laser beams so we need some quality goggles. Thanks for sharing! All the best!

    If I was to purchase a B1 40watt, Would I be able to move the laser modul and power supply on to my 500x800mm open frame machine?

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  5 месяцев назад

      Controller and motherboard would also need to follow and some parameter changes would be necessary to reflect the larger working area.

      @@rogersshop yes i understand that.
      Move modul, power supply and control board.
      Change work area size in Lightburn when finding new device.
      The 500x800m. Size would be a great machine.
      I have 3 other moduls i use on that frame now.

      I modified my Longer Ray 5 to 850mm X 850mm. Nice having the large work area for signs, but kind of a pain to store when not using!@@DwightStebner

    How would she do on an aluminum surface, like a sheet or even a brick of aluminum for engraving, Roger?

    • @rogersshop

      Bare aluminum, no. If painted or anodized, it will etch the coating. To engrave/etch bare aluminum, you need a fiber laser or IR laser. I'm doing a video soon the the IR module available for the Longer B1 and Ray5. I have it, just have not had time to "play" yet.
