Commenting here now as the fifth person because eventually people will discover this album and I want to be on the record as saying it's one of my favorite albums of all time.
I’m a little upset and concerned it hasn’t been more widely revered. It’s one of my all time favorites. In my mind it should be commonly considered meaningful important beautiful and commercially viable. I think it should have millions of listens by now and be on awards lists everywhere. I love it so much.
@@jasondebaugh I think 2020 really interrupted Caroline's career trajectory, but this album seems to be doing pretty well and getting lots of plays/playlist placements and universal acclaim (deservedly so). I think when their next release comes out, it'll show the growth in their profile. I mean I was a very occasional "oh that song's neat" listener prior to this album (usually when they'd pop up on some other indie 'song radio' I had on) and it definitely made a huge fan out of me.
I found the colorful characters and clever tricks of perspective in her previous albums to be a lot more sophisticated than this one which is, for better or worse, achingly personal.
