I find the spirit of the Lions so incredible. Once in 4 years, opponents from 4 different nations become allies. Putting accents and backgrounds aside, they fight for each other. Encompasses the spirit of rugby absolutely perfectly
The wife and I made the trip to NZ for the final match in Auckland, we also did a three week camper van tour of the southern island. Both were outstanding. Wonderful memories and if you get the chance to go to NZ, do it, especially in winter, so beautiful and an incredibly friendly nation.
The way the lions fought back after the initial regional lackluster performances and then again after the first test defeat was nothing short of heroic. What a series. Great video too btw!
What an incredible video. This was the first Lions tour I got to watch and I can confidently say that I loved every big of it. Good on the Lions for bringing a challenge and I am looking forward to watching the Lions tour against South Africa in 2021 even though New Zealand won't be in it!!!!!!
Sorry for your loss Tim. I.bet your Dad watched it upstairs! Yes,it was....A Great Tour. All the best form us all here from Wales. Many thanks for this video.
Thank you for this video. I love the lions tour. There has been so much criticism, especially at the start, but they got better, became a team, and it has been the best month of rugby in my life
Love the video, captured the mood. Absolutely loved this series, so much wonderful play from all the sides. Respect all around, reminds me why I love this game. I gave up watching football years ago, I hope I never have to with rugby 👍🏻
He's brilliant, an absolute warrior, I knew he would be special from the first time I saw him, I'm Irish but he's one of my favourite players of the pro era.
No way will' the 2017 lions be known as the greatest side to New Zealand. The Lions of 1971 is the best team to come down-under. They won all there Provincial games, an they beat the All Blacks in the 1st test, lost 2nd, won 3rd and drew the last 14-all that's the best team to hit our shores. And from that 71 side' In my opinion, the best Lions team ever' in this modern era is the 1974 Lions vs Springboks which they won that serious 3-1, That Lions team went through South Africa undefeated. The last test was a Draw. The Lions should have won that game but ref disallowed a try in the last minute of the game which the replay clearly show that Fergus Slattery grounded the ball. The 2017 Lions are a good side but not a great side like the '71-Lions' or the 74 team, look at their record it shows that. The 2017 Lions may have Drawn the test serious, but to be honest, they were lucky to draw the 3rd test and they lost games to Super teams.
takiri dixon and they wont be known as the best because fuck all people in the uk give a shit about pre 2000s rugby cause it was almost free to go into stadiums and literally noone took it seriously bit like the english side that won the football world cup. Well done but we dont actually give one
All people in the uk don't give a shit about pre 2000s rugby cause it was almost free. Well they do because those 2 Lions teams were the best that toured NZ, and SA period. So don't spin me that bullshit that Lions fans don't have fond memories of those teams. May be not you, but Lions fans that I talked to still talk about those two sides with fondness. To say they don't give shit is absolute bullshit.
@@takirid unlike some, I respect the history of the lions and you sir are spot on. Willie John McBrides team was the best, by a mile. They were so many others I haven't mentioned, but they are legendary.
Because it is? South Africa world champions at the moment, along with New Zealand have won the Web Ellis 3 times. The only northern team who have won it is England, once. And don’t forget the last game in that tour ended in an appalling reffing blunder. When Pyper changed the penalty the lions fans went nuts, not realising it would result in a series draw. Let’s face it, Ireland no1 leading into a World Cup, doesn’t make it past the quarters, France doesn’t, Scotland doesn’t, Wales the semis. England toppled the All Blacks (who clearly were a spent force as 5 players shouldn’t have been there as they were past their best) and then lost to South Africa. So yeah, the Southern Hemisphere teams are better, sorry.

Ha ha nice a little rose coloured view but enjoyed the tour a fair result even with the controversy at the end. No more French referees for the next tour can't wait.
If The Lions had been together for another couple of weeks before the tour began, they would have cleaned up 3-0. Also, has anyone else noted just what bad losers New Zealand are?!
Explain "bad losers" I was at the 2nd and and 3rd test, When we lost the second all the All Blacks stayed and congratulated the Lions, after the 3rd test which ended with the wrong call, the All Blacks stayed and congratulated the Lions again. As for your comment of another 2 weeks and you would've won 3-0 rubbish, Lions were outplayed in the 1st test, in the second dumb ass SBW was sent off and you had an extra man for 50 min. @@Nineteenseventy2 'Try again' ? you arrogant prick! They lost to the weakest of the New Zealand super rugby sides (The Blues) and they barely got past a provincial side not to mention another loss to the Highlanders! The nasty French referee gave them the result vs the Crusaders (a match they should've never won)! At the end of the day, the British and Irish lions DIDN'T win the test series against the All Blacks, they drew! And when the rugby world Cup begins in late 2019, another team from the southern hemisphere will win the title as usual. That team will most likely be the All Blacks!
You do realise that the ABs, the best side in the world, couldn't even beat a poorly coached team, with biased and questionable selection, made up of teams nowhere near as good as them. Surely that's a reflection of how poor the ABs were
That's a team of 4 nations (but biased towards Wales, who are poor), where most of the population focus more on other sports over rugby. NZ are supposed to be the best team in the world, they really didn't play like it on this Lions tour. They ought to have smashed the Lions 3-0, 1-1 is an awful result for them
