It's a massive shock Tiff you need time to get over that shock and process what's coming, which is what you are doing right now which is good because you can't block it out , have the hospital offered you anyone to talk to ? it will help massively to talk to someone that's not family and get it processed so you can be in the best possible frame of mind going into this. The next year is going to be so hard, but you can do it and you will have the rest of your life ahead of you and you will go on to do lots of amazing things and have a lovely happy life with Matt, you just have to go through this awful part now to get to that happy part. Tiffany, I hope you read this. 9 years ago, I went through something extremely similar. I have a rare cancer called PMP (Pseudomyxoma Peritonei), which is a form of appendix cancer. In almost all cases it seeds the entire abdominal cavity with hundreds of tumors. I was stage IV, and my initial surgery was 18 hours long. (I've since had 3 more tune-ups; they average about 9 hours.) So far-- and typical to many PMP patients-- I've had the following removed: the entire large intestine, part of the small intestine, all of my belly fat (greater and lesser omentum), a full hysterectomy (including the vagina), the rectum, spleen, gall bladder, appendix (happy to be rid of that traitor!), the peritoneum (which is the entire lining of the abdomen), a chunk of my diaphragm, my entire tailbone, and have had tumors removed from my bladder and inguinal lymph nodes. I have an ileostomy bag (and I can assure you that after a brief adjustment, it's not difficult to have), and a ureteral stent (a long tube connecting my kidney to my bladder since my ureter was a casualty of war). I like to say I'm traveling light! :) I've gone into the last 2 surgeries not knowing if I'd wake up still owning a bladder, or if I'd lose that as well, so I completely understand the emotional uncertainty of cancer surgeries. I found I've been actually calmer than expected, because I have experience with the ileostomy bag now, and I know that I can simply tend to one more bag if necessary. Small price to pay for this magnificent gift of life! My story is in no way unique-it's a carbon copy of many, many PMP patients-so know that if all of us can do it and thrive afterwards, you can, too! Be hopeful. You are not alone, and there's a good life on the other side of treatment. Sending my best strength vibes and a warm hug.

@@고고고싱 I really haven’t had any negative side affects with chemo so assuming I’m just going to die is a a bit much. Lots of people beat cancer with chemo. Now I’m not saying you’re wrong and it may not kill all the cancer but again I’m no where near just dying. I have however thought about looking into alternative methods so I will look into you’re regiment. Saying people are just going to die is kind of insensitive and I’m not normally an insensitive person. So maybe when you talk to people about things like this you do it a little less harshly. Tiffany, my dear, I am so sorry you have been given this frightening journey to traverse. You are going through all of the normal fears, grief, anger, & confusion that would be considered normal in this circumstance. Each person who has been given a cancer diagnosis has also been so frightened were afraid they would not live. But then we realized we could handle one day at a time. Then after each new day we realized that maybe we could do that again. Then all of a sudden we decided that maybe we had a chance because “hey” we DID handle all of those previous days. YOU are a strong young woman who has shown that over and over. You TOO can do this!
I can laugh now when saying that when I found out I had a very rare form of melanoma 4+ years ago and researched my diagnosis every piece of information said I would likely die within a few months. Although much older than you, it scared the H-ll out of me. At the same time I got mad and decided if I was going to die then I was going to buy a used convertible and enjoy my short time left. That was in February of 2018. Last summer after enjoying it for 3-1/2 years and being cancer free since Sept of 2018, I traded it in realizing that after all I still had a lot of life left.
You are NOT alone in facing these scary challenges but you ARE strong and you NEED to do what needs to be done, whatever challenges that leaves you with. Because in reality it is ALL you CAN do!
Also, when they say you can only have one visitor in ICU I am pretty sure they mean at one time. Amma and Matt should be able to alternate who comes into the room to see you but it can only be one at a time. Too much going on in ICU, too much equipment, and some families would fill the room if there were no rules. Staff needs room to do their work without having to deal with multiple visitors.
You have thousands of us who support, pray for & love you. We believe in you and your strength to overcome this and to accomplish great things going forward! Life is waiting for you and you WILL make the most of it, I am sure!

Have you thought about asking your Oncologist if there is someone who has been through a similar surgery that you could speak with, or find a reputable cancer group so that you can speak with your peers about what to expect and have them share their stories too? That is something we can do in the U.S. if it seems like that would help. 💙

Hi Tiffany, I've been watching you since your diagnosis. I too was diagnosed with stage 4 gastric cancer at the age of 21. I was just about to graduate with my masters degree and it felt like my life was just about to start but I started to get really sick and received the worse news of my life.
I can't do surgery as the cancer has metastasized to other organs so you can get everything out. I'm currently just doing chemo to basically live as long as I can. I am 23 now and trying to make the best out of the rest of my life but it is hard. I often get sad and depressed and wonder what's all this for.
Last week I had my an appointment to be apart of a clinical trial but found out that I might not be able to qualify because I have brain metastasis. That really made me sad because if I couldn't donate my organs to save lives I wanted to at least donate my body to science to help people in other ways. Right after that appointment I had a seizure. It just feels like my time is coming and I am deeply afraid but I'm still trying to be positive and know that I have lived a good life.
Watching your videos and we'll as other cancer patients usually help because it let's me know I am not the only one dealing with this but it still sucks for us. Wishing you the best.

As a fellow cancer WARRIOR, I was one of the lucky ones that came through the other side of it. Tiffany...YOU GOT THIS!! Everyone's cancer story is different. It could be the same stage and type but how I handled mine was different than how my bestfriend handled hers, my aunts (3) handled theirs, my uncle handled his and my grandfather handled his. You're championing your journey. Anger is normal. I felt so full of anger during my battle and didn't have anyone to be angry at. After a year, I screamed. I screamed while alone, sitting on the sofa, while watching TV. My mind took me back to all I'd gone through and I had no more tears...all I could do was scream. Scream at the top of my lungs. Afterwards, I felt lighter. I had so much bottled up anger, anxiety, frustration, unhappiness and buried under all of that was my scream. As I'm typing this, I've realized that, that scream was my voice. The voice that I lost when the doctors took control. When I realized I had no control of what my body was doing. Betraying me. BUT, here I am 11 years later....feeling good. Grateful for what the journey taught me. You'll get through this! You absolutely will. All survivors have a date..a date that cancer was eradicated from our bodies. Mine: 1/11/11 (11 days before my 39th birthday)

You are easily one of the bravest persons I’ve come across. Allow yourself to feel all of these emotions. There is grace in all of them. You don’t have to be strong for anyone. You are blessed to be at the best hospital for cancer in the UK and get the best care - many people cannot dream of that. You have a great support system, many people don’t have that. Sweet friend, this is hard. BUT YOU ARE KILLING IT. Here is our Cleveland Clinic Foundation Oncology nurses thoughts:
    1) get yourself an amazing (mental health) counselor who specializes in cancer NOW. Today. A specialist. NOW!!!
    2) DEMAND that they hook you up with and to meet other young women needing a bowel resection. Learn this is ok. It’s ok to have an ostomy.
    3) we think they’re telling you that your surgery is called Cyto-reductive
    with HIPEC.
    4) yes they will “remove all the cancer cells” and don’t worry about the length of the surgery, you’ll be in good hands.
    5) then they will fill your peritoneal cavity with a very special warmed chemo and for 90 minutes go back and forth slowly to kill all remaining cancer cells. (PLEASE ASK ABOUT HIPEC- this is absolutely crucial for this cancer)
    6) you may wake up different, but you will learn to adapt very quick!
    7) we nurses will TEACH YOU how to feel and be normal again. And it will be BEAUTIFUL!!! 🥰🤗
    8) you can have more than 1-2 people with you at all times, we promise you.
    9) celebrate everything and clear your head. Decorate and celebrate up until the last hour. Stop worrying about everyone else (see step ONE ABOUT YOUR SPECIAL THERAPIST!)
    10) stop saying no and GET THIS FREAKING CANCER OUT OF YOU!!!
We love you, xo- all your ccf nurses
Ps these numbers aren’t in any order, we just went around the room saying all the important things and we are rooting for you.
    GOOD LUCK!!!

Although the surgery is not going to be easy, you have so many people that love and support you and will be there for you during the times that you really need to have comfort and love and just some words of encouragement to keep you from getting into a dark place in your mind. You got this girl and you got all of us here online whenever you need to talk or just to get your mind off of things. Just remember that the present moment is temporary and the future still has so much in store for you - we will all support you from getting you through this time right now in this present moment and be there to cheer you on & to celebrate with you in the future of you being cancer free!!

Hello dear Tiffany- I’ve just come recently to your channel and I cannot express in words how deeply you have moved me with your sweet personality, courage and positivity. We all complain about stupid, little things and here you are carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders with such grace. I know that life can really throw some mean stuff at us. I am 60 and have battled with major depression my whole life because of childhood abuse and trauma. When I am in a dark place what keeps me going is my family, friends and doctors. But I‘be learned that no matter what, the very fiber of what makes us who we are can bury deep to get through the hard times. Then when the light comes again we emerge a better version of ourself because we’ve grown and we have a better insight and a better appreciation for life. Let yourself feel and take all the time you need to process. Do little things to make yourself happy in the meantime. I’m😊very gratified to now be part of the Tifffanythinks family. Looking forward to seeing you become a healthy Tiffany! Sending best wishes and hugs from Richmond, Virginia.💕

I had a colon resection and total hysterectomy plus hot chemo surgery more than two years ago. I totally understand your fear, especially about carrying bags for the rest of your life. I had a ileostomy for more than half a year before it was reversed. I got used to it after a few months. By the end of it, I seriously thought that I could deal with it for the rest of my life if I had to. I was following a few ladies’ vlogs who have permanent ostomies and was really inspired by them. They showed me how you can still live a good life with a bag on you. Just look with keyword ostomy, you will find a lot of info. As for the bladder, the doctor was not sure if he will do anything with it, right? They normally tell you the worst case situation before the surgery so you won’t be surprised later on. In reality, it is usually not that bad. So don’t let fear take over you. Focus on preparing your body for the surgery and research how to cope with the potential changes in your body after your surgery. There is a lot of helpful info on the internet and a lot of people in the same situation as you sharing their experience. If you don’t feel up for researching yourself. Maybe your family can help you do the research and be prepared as your will need a lot of physical help from them for a little while after the surgery. I will be praying for you!

Hello to you! I am a silent viewer, but really need to just say a few things that I am thinking after watching most of this video.
First of you, you are an INCREDIBLE human being. That’s what drew me to you in the first place after watching only one video! Lol It’s also so beautiful seeing what An amazing support system you have in your family, friends and “your darling Matt”! Also, the way that you allow yourself to be so entirely vulnerable as you move through this journey is almost breathtaking. I wonder if you have any idea how many people you are helping while you are going through the most challenging time in your life? We watch as you go through each moment~and can almost see when a thought “clicks” and then takes hold in your mind. You are sharing your fears and also such courage as you move through these tumultuous feelings that you are experiencing ~what an honor for us to have the privilege of watching. Be brave, yes~ but like you said~ you are absolutely allowed to be afraid! You are absolutely allowed to be angry! You are experiencing actual trauma every single day due to the myriad of worries that come along with having cancer~ so whatever you are feeling is normal and it is your process and your experience, no one else’s. I feel like you are an old, sweet soul. You are so wise beyond your years! But then again, I see where some of your wisdom comes from when I watch you with your lovely mom. I can’t recall ever being literally worried when someone didn’t post a video~but I found myself all day on Friday and then Saturday checking to see if you had posted a video and then praying so much that you were ok because I was genuinely worried. This is getting entirely too long but in closing, I wanted to tell you that every time I run into something challenging I say the words “We’ve got this”… thank you. ❤
