Forget the blond wig. No weaves, fake lashes, fake nails or 2/3rd of the body showing. Just beautiful brown people enjoying being themselves. Thank you for this - brings back many fond memories. Very happy to be a part that era. ❤
Nice flashback to that era. The styles were different. Beautiful faces with minimal makeup and hair of different lengths. Having a a cute haircut was it! I stayed at the salon to keep my curls bumped and hair cut neat.
I was 14 years old in 1992. This is a natural and sophisticated as I remember. No one wanted to look like a drag queen; that looked stayed within that group. Now everyone wants to look like a contestant on RuPauls Drag Race, I despise it.
They wore some weird colored hair back then, but it is not as prevalent as it is now. Also, most of the women wore their real hair because relaxers were very popular during that time. Our hair easily sweats and returns to its natural state.
The 90s was definitely the birth of the B.A.P.s. era, which gave way to all the debauchery we have now. That was the birth of the wild-colored hair. So I'm not going to view it with Rose Colored Glasses. But yes it wasn't out of hand, like today.
