"Let's get started" "But before we get started today I need to tell you about something concerning" Honestly they should hire Sukritact to work on civ 7
Thank for checking this mod out, and my nation. This is such a good mod, fantastic mechanic and the animation from Ingólfur is just the absolute best :) Edit: The sagas and lawspeaker mechanics derive its names from our viking sagas. One of the most famous one is Snorra Edda, or Prose Edda. Another one is Njálssaga. The main character Njáll is a lawspeaker (lawyer in modern terms). I also think that the mod favors settling close to volcanos and geothermic fissures, not sure about that natural wonder though probably incredibly lucky. I dare you to play a peaceful game with no conquests as we don't have a military. The onlly ones who are allwed to wear arms is the police (under specific conditions) and the SWAT team.
Well, on the right type of map, that district bonus seems really flexible and powerful. That's better than the City Patron Goddess discount, and it applies to however many districts you can get on a breathtaking tile, not just your first district in a city. That means you get the equivalent of a discounted specialty district, but you can choose which one it is vs. having like a discount holy site etc. This looks like a pretty cool civ. Ursa definitely chose a good map type to work with it. Though also you can dial up volcanos with the Got Lakes map script. The more you play with that one, the more cool possibilities you find..
Ice, Ice, Baby, another lovely game with a mod by the awesome Sukritact, Iceland, the country with the highest number of active volcanoes per capita in the world. Reykjavik gets settled in the land of milk and honey, specifically on the honey. Soon after they discover two city states, and that one rather infamous Icelandic volcano. No, not Hekla, the other one. And then of course, the Barbarians make an appearance. With Johannesburg being discovered shortly after. Iceland decides to rush their religion, noticing that no other players have gotten one yet, to ensure they get first pick. Shortly after Fez is met, with China getting encountered shortly after. Iceland then choses Divine Spark as their pantheon, as it stacks nicely with their abilties. A Temple of Artemis rush is decided upon, and Qin decides that he likes Iceland, shortly after open borders are negotiated upon. Mt. Everest is then discovered, just inside of Persia's borders. Then one of Iceland's scouts blunders into a massive army of Barbarians, and gets their escape route cut off by Persia, the cheeky bastards. The scout's sacrifice inspires Iceland to found the worlds first religion, based around eating, singing, and dancing. Persia decides to declare war on China, and Iceland misses a golden age by a hair. Things move forward, and another potential settlement location is decided upon. The first lawspeaker is earned shortly before Iceland's first government, which causes a second lawspeaker to appear, with China voicing their jealousy. Iron is discoered, with a source under Iceland's government plaza. Another settler is built, and a marsh gets harvested to make place for the Temple of Artemis. Iceland's religion starts to spread with a little help from missionaries. They then purchase some Marble from Persia, before spreading the religion further. Another Icelandic city rushes a holy city, and then Reykjavik becomes a Metropolis before Temple of Artemis gets finished. Iceland then puts down a campus in a very precarious location, before becoming suzerain of Fez. We then learn that Iceland's replacement for the aqueducts does not need to be place next to the city center! Will Reykjavik's Campus get blown up by a Volcano? Will Iceland discover the fourth civilization before the medieval era? Is Thor a blonde or a redhead? Find out next episode, same Ursa time, same Ursa channel!
The logo for the Torfbær is not a chicken, it's a dried fish. The dried fish and the falcon have been used as the shield of arms for iceland pre-independence.
I played this civ before the major updates, it was awesome! Watching this, I want to reload it and play it again. I am not a great fan of the Wichter civ 6 mods, but the Skellige was actually kinda fun, if you are interested. Great episode!!!
ReyKiaVik Fish Thank you for playing more of Sukritacts modded stuff! Thank you Sukritact for making stuff that is complicated for Ursa and easy for everybody else to play with!
I will be very disappointed, if you don't settle at least one city next to *Eyjafjallajökull!* ...building *the University of Sankore* would be satisfying as well. :D Oh, only 1,5k more to go!!! 50k here we cooooooooome!
Good to see that Ursa has escaped the clutches of Crustus The Enraged! Good for you, our lovely, sweet... strangely smelling like honey, Bear! Or has he?
I’ve played a game today with the mods you use. Omg. Improved my gaming experience. Hope civ vii take on a few of these mods. Great vids as always. Thanks
You allways sleep on River Goddess . . You can get so many Amenities with that! And the Amenities Religion. And the Amenities Building. And the Amenities Government Cards. You can get 5 or 6 amenities into a city before luxuries!
Rolled them today. Totally fun as this is a first more culture based civs (I think) lol newer in comparison to you to civ 6. Super fun because it's a very different playthrough.
I think that city states and natural wonders use the same possible spawn location. It gets obvious if you put many wonders and city states in a game. Then almost every city state is right next to a wonder ^^
I´m from Iceland (not the store) and you pronounced the Icelandic words fantastically and in fact you did it better than some of the Icelandic teens nowadays. Btw I love to see Iceland getting its recognition. Ps. have you considered playing a game with only Sukritact´s Civs on a standard or a large map?
Once you get the unique aqueducts rolling, there is no stopping Iceland, it’s a bit overpowered, and the Lawspeakers give you all the necessary great writing slots for a culture victory
When I first played as this civ I kept messing up the district placements. His unique Aqueduct *does not* need to be adjacent to the city center! It says so on the details but I just wasn't paying attention. Also his lawspeakers technically allow you to play tall and get a culture victory at the same time since you can place increase the number of great writing slots on libraries and shrines.
1:28 Wait what? I though Ursabear was being held captive by the underwater dungeon of the Giant crabs? Was he rescued by Gilgabro? Or this is a previous part of the Ursabear saga we have missed?
@@UrsaRyan Maybe Ursabear gets rescued by Gilgrabro while looking for adventure riding in his magnificent War Cart. But Gilgrabro needs Ursabear's help to build the Hanging Gardens so now Usrabear can finally put all his learning at Oxford University's Civ 6 program to good use. But with enough subscribers that Ursa gathered to chop the woods Gilgrabro will have enough to builders to finish Hanging Gardens ahead of schedule.
I don't think Iceland is a store outside the UK but luckily I'm a filthy panel show addict so I'm familiar with it from jokes. Also, "Ry-kjavik" maybe?
would it be a strategy to adopt a government you dont want, to get the bonus, then switch to the other one you dont want the next time, and then go to classical republic?
am i the only one with a sewer mind that sees half a gina on the aqueduct replacement symbol? if you didn't and now you do, i'm sorry i ruined it for you u.u

Turns out it was only 15$ to get everything I did not have yet. Been playing and restarting way too much these last three days! (any videos on how to approach the new modes and buildings btw? Did a quick search but found nothing clear on your channel)

Loving the theming on this one. This is what Norway should have been.
and also you say the icelandic names very well ( im from iceland❤)
Horray!
Don't forget Eifel Tower Ursa. Super appeal/bonus for late game cities.
I'm not sure we'll get that far!! XD
You should probably take Mohenjo-daro. Its bonus kinda sucks with this map/spawn and owning a natural wonder would be very good for this civ.
Oh I have an even more fiendish plan
You should finish the job the volcano started, remove Mohenjo-Daro and resettle the wonder.
