Johnny Cash ..RIP...and Ruthie singing Ring of 🔥 Fire...WOW..each Sing this in their own Great way...the Lyrics are Truly Awesome.. Thanks for writing it Mrs. JUNE CARTER CASH..RIP..💕💞
Puts on such a great show. I had no idea who she was (this was about 10 yrs ago) and she promptly blew us all out of the water. I[ve watched her counsel audiences that she must step along now, that the Headliner would like to play. Amazing woman!
Ruthie Foster came thru Denver a number of years ago with her friend Syd at an outside celebration and she was great. Still have a CD I bought that day. Love the way she makes an oldie a newie like this rendition of Ring of Fire!
It's great to hear a stripped down version like this. It doesn't have the gloss of her album version but it's just as wonderful in own own way. Such a great artist.
Beauiful soulful that can touch your emotions. Great arrangement. Perfect make out, make up, make love song. Perfect for remembering your souls heart. Gorgeous
Yes, Roberta Flack, that's what I got. Must say, Ms Foster has an absolutely splendid singing voice, doesn't overdo the 'why sing one note when you can sing twenty' style. Lovely and warm, round tones and great inflection and delivery: Natural! We simply don't hear enough of this professional and mature approach to singing these days: sigh..
The only cover of this song that can top Ruthie's is by Ray Charles, whose version is very, very different than either the original or this one. It is positively erotic.
??? You hate that she played it her style? Yeah I hate when people make something different, no matter how amazingly good it is. Cash always played it the same! (NOOOT) Go see Ruthie live... when you leave you will go home and pile all of your Cds (MP3 players) in your bbq and "let them burn". She is an amazing performer.
If she didn't like the melody of the song or the chords then why is she using the words. I mean, why not just play a different song? All the vocal gymnastics SO overdone and she has no idea of the actual melody of the song.
I’m just hearing this for the first time and it is Fantastic!
Ruthie, you are a FORCE! Wonderful. Thank you.
i love her voice, she's absolutely so fantastic. i could listen to her all day long.

Her vocal sounds like Roberta Flack on this one.
Yup. Very much so.

This version challenges Johnny Cash's version!
listen also to Ray Charles' version
All, at times, get too close to fire of any kind. I have my Sahara sands. No worries
worries, snuff fire. Ko
Beautiful voice. I don't care much for the arrangement of Ring of Fire, though.
Johnny Cash.......Ring of Fire....rearranged.
She reminds me of Whoopie Goldberg
Effortless....
I love Ruthie........sooo good...BUT...please don't sing fast country songs. Really ?
Of all the songs in the world ?
Say what? Infedelity?
She's immensely talented, but I hate what she did to this song.
I love it...Love IS a burning thing!! The lyrics deserve this interpretation.
