    "no mechanical sympathy" classic. haven't heard that one for a while.

      It's a great term, we are seriously thinking about using it in our instruction manual!

      @MyCatInABox 5 лет назад

      My dad & I use something CLOSE to that saying: Only we use "empathy" instead of "sympathy".
      Bottom line is, it's a very apt term.

    How is it that the Oz-designed and built Barra got past us. I remember the days when guys were bragging about their 192 Holden's making 150BHP!

    • @haltech
      @haltech  5 лет назад +3

      Sadly the Barra is no longer in production, a classic case of "you don't know what you've got till it's gone..."

      @@haltech The thing is people loved it when it was in production also, but not enough for the ones doing the numbers.

      There are a lot of Green LPG taxi engines out there. Lot's of under-stressed, varnished miles on them. Freshen them up, big turbo, Haltech ECU and blow the damn thing up if you can. You can buy the whole damn taxi for 500 bucks!

    That's real different having the missus telling you to spend money/time building a car. Keep her.

    194 Mph for our American friends.

    1150HP on a stock crank... and they took the engine out of production. I've got a feeling that someone with spare cash could make a decent profit out of sucking up all the Barras the wreckers and holding on to them for a few years.

      People are already starting to. Ive bought 5 gas motors and 2 normals for the future when they all dry up.

      If there's sufficient demand, hopefully someone in the aftermarket will start making a "clone" version of them the way they do with the LS.

      It was "me bad", I'd forgotten many manufactures would pass the oil through part of the radiator to cool the transmission fluid, rather than use a dedicated external oil cooler.
