Having lived in the US for 33 years since college years and having met and spend time with a lot of Indians from North and South; my impression generally is that there is much in common between Pakistan and North Indian culture but food in Pakistan is much more meat based than in India hardly anyone in Pakistan wears Saris. Hospitality wise, both are very hospitable people. Pakistanis may have a slight edge in that department from what I experienced but generally both countries are similar.
