you now get a fun game with almost hand to hand combat you get closer to the bots and they can sometimes come up behind you and put one in the back of your head (before this mod it was long range combat)

LuftWaffle3 Real-ime DX12?.... it's called screen space reflections, and have been possible a long time, but just recently got popular. Many none DirectX games use it. MS is so good and bad with their marketing of DX12 - _ -; ... they want comments like this....
Finnish duck Arma was never optimized well, and never will be. "Optimization" is a fucking complex procedure, it isn't done like "Ok guys, let's optimize now" and BAM, suddenly +50 FPS.
It's easy for games like CoD or even BF, because those games are rather simple. But a gigantic game like Arma 3 has soooo much variables that proper optimization is close to impossible.

TacticalDrunk Maybe by a few FPS.. But if your currently getting 30-40 FPS on Altis, you'll probably get 25-30 in the forest on this if you used DX11.. Throw on multiplayer and i'd say it can bring you down to 15-25fps.. DX12 may help some yeah, but with the current game engine powering this, i'd say it may call for a new gaming rig.. At least it will for me..

Why 1km range? I do not remember that hardcore AIs when you are moving in moderate manner.
I haven´t been playing seriously a while because I still have only 20FPS with 80%CPU(each core) usage and 35% GPU usage.

You know what'd be really neat? A sea focused map. Like one that's an archipelago with sizable bodies of water between the islands. The expansion for the map should include large watercraft such as LHDs, cruisers, and destroyers. Those would have a system where crew could walk on the decks while the craft is in motion, that way the community could create their own watercraft with the same system.

I'd expect a few vehicles of all types, weapons, probably some new "skins" for base vehicles, and clothing to suit the terrains, and possible new factions.

+Bradd1122 No, but Arma does not support SLI or Crossfire which makes having two GPUs pointless and it doesn't fully utilize the power of each core, nor does it utilize hyper-threading. My CPU runs the game at a 30% load and both my GPUs sit at about a 25% load. When playing online I can get 30 FPS on a good day. My system has no problem running any other game at the highest settings and 60fps

The Term 'Troll' comes to mind. Now when i'm in a helicopter with my squad and some child who Obviously shouldn't be on the game, comes in and starts screaming down the mic with some bullshit, i'm not going to be happy. How about the 12 year old pilots. Gotta love their GREAT Skills and how they can clearly read that if you can't fly, then don't go into a pilot slot... But Of course you know best, I mean, a GTA Gamemode in a fucking MILLITARY SIMULATOR is not stupid at all. Some advice, use the truth to prove something, not some bullshot you belive.
Both Stratis and Altis are great maps, This one looks like it would also be glorious.

+1904Jester1992 damn homie Altis is probably one of the best maps I've ever seen in a video game. The detail and similarities to real world terrain is unmatched. Even though GTA has a more lively feeling to it, even the terrain itself seems more real in Altis

I have absolutely ZERO lag in this game and I run 29-30fps on average. Even with lots of mods.

ProTuner06 29-30 fps is garbage compared to games like GTA that run at 60+ fps on the same specs. Arma is just unoptimized and it relies on the community for its content.
I get a solid 60-65fps even when in the forest on this map, it runs nearly as well as altis for me so clearly its not that badly optimised...

Hate to break it to you, but 29-30fps is laggy. It's shameful. In fact it's last gen console bad.I have an i7 4770k and a gtx 980ti. On multiplayer, this game gets around 30fps. That is shit. It should be up to at least 60fps. The game is terribly optimized and depends on mostly the CPU to run, which is fucking bass ackwards... I expect no better from this map. If you want to take a shot at people's "potato pc's", you may as well go back to the geek squad at your local best buy and pay them to write your insults for you just like you paid them to build your overpriced mediocre system...

Meerkat The terrain will most likely be part of the free content upgrade. The assets such as new vehicles, clothing, other gear and weapon will most likely be what you're paying for like the DLCs.

Altis has over *1.6 million manually placed objects* and somehow they managed to make it all blend together to create a completely natural looking landscape. I'd like to know just how many objects have/will be placed in Tanoa.
That amount of work is awesome and deserves at least recognition. If not some financial gain.

Vlad Yusupov fwiw, I've seen each of the Arma terrains evolve behind-the-scenes from Sahrani to Chernarus, Takistan, and Altis. They always go through major improvements over the course of production - you won't know how it'll really look until it's out. What you see now is still a ways from completion. Expect the end result to look significantly more polished/nice/visually consistent.

Lol I have about 50 mods and test mods for a modder. It's annoying that they add futuristic stuff no one ever uses and just make extra work for modders.

DorianPcGaming if you only use jets, kinda is. Youre paying for basically the map, because we mod it so much to bring it back to modern times. I have never used a single arma 3 non mod aircraft.
u pay for the map the models the vehicles the missions the factions n stuff.. plus they added a normal looking plane which is obiously not from halo.. and when u need more u can use every mod u want. i dont see a problem. sry
