    I've been trying to learn about this field, my background is from software engineering. And this is the best video I've found so far. Even though it's from 6 years ago 😊
    All the hurdle mentioned in the video is very true, but I think it's only a part why we don't have exponential growth in the field. The other part is that this is a "Mainframe vs PC" problem. One of the things that made software engineering expand so quickly is the introduction of PC. Currently SynBio is still in the Mainframe stage, where only a few could have access to it.
    Of course is not wise to give everyone free access without control. Who knows what kind of random things could happened that create a mutation that could jeopardize the environment. So the other thing we need is "the internet" for SynBio. Somewhere people could do experiment in a safe way and show case it to other people, somethink akin to the internet in the dial up era. And maybe all of that creation could live in a controlled world. And interact naturally. It would be interesting to the things that could come up from a full humanity effort.
