    Shawno and Graham, you inspired my husband and I to start overlanding!.. We were originally a sailing couple and have sailed the entire pacific, but after watching 4WD action for so long, we knew we found our true passion lol, so THANK YOU!.. We live in Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada's Pacific North West) and we JUST returned from touring from Vancouver to the Yukon territory and explored as many kilometers of the Yukon as we could.. The highway distance from Vancouver to the Yukon territory is about 2407 kilometers, each way.. Combining all the trailblazing and exploring for remote camping spots we did along the way.. We clocked an estimated almost 6000 kilometers (give or take) entire round trip... Next year in January we are coming to Australia, or maybe heading to South Africa.. I want Australia and my husband wants South Africa, so we'll see.. My husband said you guys should charge people to go on tours with you guys, maybe even be on a episode.. Charge like 30 grand lol.. People will be.. My husband and i would.. We have a relative there in Australia with beautiful land, so we have a place to store whatever we buy.. Our last trip was in a fully restored and heavily modifed 1995 Land Cruiser (80 series).. We want a 6x6 beast when we come to Australia.. Cheers!

    • @realaussiemale567
      @realaussiemale567 5 лет назад

      Lunamaria 6x6’s are extremely rare here, in Australia. Anyone who has one would’ve had it purposely built. If you’ve seen more than a few of these 4WD Action vids, you’d understand what type of vehicles we have here. 1 word of caution, steer clear of Ford Ranger’s, Mitsubishi Triton’s and newer model Toyota HiLux’s, they have issues with diesel particulate filters. 👍🇦🇺

    One of the most honest reviews of a 4x4 I have seen in a long time. Most reviews talk about how good their setup is (which is what I expected when I clicked on this) but was pretty surprised when Shaun started ruling out stereotypical setups. The 79 series being under powered from factory, the gear ratios being inconvenient, the clutch being weak, the uncomfortable seats, "the worst sound system after the late T-ford", and a "centre console that you can't even rest your arm on".. Still a beautiful vehicle..

Or factory engine at least.. I'd love Grahams opinion because he always proves that smaller can still be VERY capable.

    Literally the best and honest description and practical 79 set up I've seen. Although he forgot to mention the rear wheel track issue. At the end of the day these rigs are for people with disposable incomes or people in positions like Shauno who can write em off on tax and have friends in the industry to afford the mods needed to make them practical. If you are the kind of person that is just scraping to afford one, they are a serious money pit/divorcee maker. Side note, Shauno is such a top bloke and definitely living his dream life.

    Great to see you mentioned dusting the engine because the air box does not seal. same with my 2015 Ranger. The genuine ford air filter element is not tall enough to create a good seal, pack some cardboard under filter and problem fixed. I noticed fine very fine dusting in the air intake pipe after a very dusty trip.

It's quite a shock to the system going from a Fortuner and then a Hilux to a 79 but I wanted a big camper. Now I just got to figure out how to move the spare wheels. Yeah. You'd have 120k in it, if you had to pay for all the mods...probably more and still be rocking the spartan interior. Its proper though

      and the rest. if you had to pay for all these mods on top of the new vehicle price (75k+) you'd be well over 120k.
