Why are Avanti operating Voyagers on services to Edinburgh and Glasgow when those routes are under the wires?
every line but north wales line is under wires but the voyagers have 5 carriages and pendilinos have 11 so they are often used on less busy and off peek routes
They were used to retain crew knowledge and there was a shortfall of rolling stock until their new trains entered service
