I always found the scopes intimidating and so complicated that I didn't even use them. But now thanks to the video I understand them better. So Thanks🤝
@@FXhome hlo, I installed hitfilm express 2 times in my pc and when I choose new after that main interface is shown on the then I select my video and try to edit in time line.your software doesn't work.what is this.plz reply.
I usually like the fast paced tutorials and I get them; but with these kinds of tutorials on color correction and grading I really wish you would do a real class and take your time. I have watch all you color grading tutorials and I get the basic but we need a more methodical class/tutorial if at all possible.
Oh no, I have so much to learn hahah. I've been using hitfilm / fx since I started my channel and have gotten by on just the brightness/contrast and a little temperature :D These colour corrections look beautiful!
Obviously I'm biased, as I did the older Scopes tutorials for the FXhome channel, but, IMHO, what Tom has done here is a brilliantly accessible overview of the color correction process which only touches on Scopes. However, part 1 of my Scopes series should still be viewed by users as I broke down every single button and control in the Scopes panel - for example, knowing how to change the Scopes color space between REC 709 and REC 2020, depending on project resolution and destination. Knowing how to rotate the Scopes can make it easier to parse low contrast details, and knowing how to set Scopes up to render over your footage turns the Scopes themselves into a creative tool. For example, check out this sweet (and it's pretty sweet, even if I say so about my own work) project template where I actually used Scopes rendered over a video frame to create a unique lower third... ruclips.net/video/AQrfsTw8EeQ/видео.html But Tom's tutorial sets users up to better understand my own dryer and more technical tutorials. I'm thinking a future tutorial discussion of LUTs is in order. There's a fair amount of confusion over what they actually do (which is a very brute force remapping of values), but it should be clarifies that in a CORRECTION stage one is looking SPECIFICALLY for a LUT to convert there specific camera's raw footage into the correct REC 709/2020 color space before creative processing. Get a fair amount of users dropping random LUTs on uncorrected footage. The correction LUT should be first in the chain while a creative LUT should also usually come first in its chain. Speaking of grading, either the grade on this was particularly heavy, Tom was wearing a nice pink lipstick, or he's just got a disgustingly pretty mouth. Sigh. We all just have to accept Tom is basically "model-hot."
I must be doing something wrong, because when I do a mask, the information from my scopes disappears.. I can't see anything in the waveform or the vectorscope. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? This is frustrating.... Ha.
Another "snappy cut" video, so hard to take in the information. Delivered at too quick a pace. Thing is Hitfilm Exress is virtualy unusable it`s so buggy nowadays. I`ve returned to Sony, even though I added Add-on in Hitfilm because it`s unstable over last few months. 😢
Hey! Tom do have any idea on some 3d composition or any tutorial for us on hitfilm express? I have also send a video on FXhome instagram id please check it out and if possible then please make a tutorial on it please 😃

Guess a deeper introduction of each one of that features would be awesome for hitfilm users.

Wait... Isn't Tom color blind? How cool that he can color correct just by reading the Scopes data.
Well remembered! I am colorblind. That's how approachable and helpful using the scopes can be to your workflow.

Me: (Feels brave enough to start messing with colour wheel.)
Also me: Oh no.
There is quite a bit of misinformation here. If you've graded your footage, a LUT is only useful for a color space transform or a look

You speak very, very fast. It's not good.
There's nothing to say about Color correct. Do something else.
