  • The Firewire Timbertek & Rob Machado: Almond Butter reviewed by Ian.
This is a great one board quiver that take care of almost any condition.
The Almond Butter Looks fantastic, with its EPS board for longevity and to keep its new board feel.

Hi boardshop.co.uk , repairs: I know is hard but what if I ding the board? (typically outside the water) common fiberglass repair? what If I crush it with a rock , does it get filled with water? I mean, what's inside the thing?

Came across one of these on sale. Great board. Everything about the board just works. Machado knows what he’s doing. Super fast as a quad. I’m 5’10 175lbs and the The 5’8 was spot on.

Thanks for the reviews...trying to choose size between 5"6 and 5"8 - I'm inter/adv and weigh 77kgs.....normal shortboard is in the 32l for volume....any suggestions would be very welcome, these aren't too easy to get hold of in Portugal.

    hi again..

Futures it would be... The Alpha fins plus quad rear set, size depends on board size and rider weight. FCS II it would be the Neo Glass Performers and the quad rears. Nothing too stiff for this board but these stiff enough to give the drive and control you need. Available here: www.boardshop.co.uk/surf-accessories/fins

Hi...the almond butter...how does it like to be surfed? Will it allow for a front foot, centered stance style or more of a locked in back foot style of surfing...thanks

Hi Paul, as with all boards it does depend on the surfer, no hard and fast rule - just experiment and enjoy. From my experience it feels like you can lock your back foot against the pad (if you are using one) and drive from there. No need to really move your feet around the board much. Hope that helps. Cheers

Hello! I have a few question. So between this board & the Creeper, which one is a lot easier catching waves on mushy waist high surf? Which one goes faster down the line with less effort? And considering it is made out with eps & wrapped with TimberTek, does it come close to feeling like riding the regular PU surfboard or do you still feel all the chatter on choppy conditions?

Ok quite a bit to wade through. To stress it’s really not black and white with surfboards, especially ones that are this close, what works for me may not work for you! Best to drop us a line through our site for more info: www.boardshop.co.uk/ . In theory the Creeper is going to be quicker off the mark as it has a really flat rocker. All Firewire techs feel superior to a PU board in every way. Cheers
