Imagine Matrix: Legend of Seraph video game where you get to play seraph through the different eras from the winged seraph to the "fallen" seraph that serves to the oracle.
the matrix movie is a story about the Bible and other spiritual books wrapped into one .... the real matrix (America) is the counterfeit inverted simulation reality that which Caucasians created under the supervision of fallen seraphs and other celestial entities who chose corruption ... there is a reason why Morpheus is a so-called black man, and the oracle a so-called black woman .... there is a reason Zion is the refuge of safety, peace ... but i've already said too much! (333) ...
Yeah, and that absolutely doesn't mean he had literal wings... Seraph is short for Seraphim, an angel, but Seraph, like everyone else, looks human. That's more than enough to explain the phrase.
I agree with a lot of your analysis, but I am not sure I agree with you on the Merovingian saying, "If you take something from me, you will pay the price," being a reference to Seraph. I think he was talking about the Keymaker. The Keymaker is the one who makes keys to the backdoors that allow the Merovingian the ability to hide himself and other programs in the first place.
I strongly disagree that the Oracle was an exile. She was one of the wardens: even the Architect described her as the mother of the Matrix. Her function was to monitor how the anomaly develops so that, when the One emerges, she can order the destruction of Zion and reprogram the Matrix so as to avoid instability and, hopefully, keep it running longer before the next One appears. She helped Neo just like she helped all of his predecessors. What changed here was an external variable that no one could have predicted: Agent Smith. In the end, her recalculation of the Matrix programming was that the prison could be more secure if troublemakers were allowed to leave. Without them making waves, the vast majority who remained would be more compliant and the sum whole would be easier to control. She was never an exile, she was the principle villain of the trilogy.
I will not call her a villain. She's a control tool. And it's not like the programme and the Matrix in itself is evil. Yes, they us human body-electricity as energie. They also give human a "life" and the right of choice. But yeah, she is one of the main mastermind and control of the third-model Matrix. She also the only one to give any choice, and respect to humanity. And offer of cooperation, and co-existance. She accept compromise who benefit the two sides. When in the other side, the "architect" only want control, and if you are not with him, and under his control, you are a foe he need to erase, and destroy. He is evil, tyranic, and without any intention of compromise.
It's a great idea, expanded from a few correlations to an entire unfounded world of conspiracy theory. But at the end of the day, it's all conceit, if this is all there is.
The Keymaker is actually a keymaker program. Seraph is some kind of hardware code, that’s why he appears in golden and can’t be beaten. Absorbing Seraph, Agent Smith got his ability to fight. Absorbing The Oracle, Smith got her ability to see future. Absorbing Sati, he got the ability to manage the weather, that is why rain (the symbol of matrix) is going during their final battle with Neo. Look for a video “Agent Smith is a human”. These questions are answered there.
Also the oracle says that supernatural entities is the matrix’s way of assimilating exile programs. That could explain why he manifests as an angel/seraphim.
Seraph is the anti-virus program from the previous system. 😅 Edit: the narrator also said that seraph "validates" anyone who wishes to see the oracle. That's literally what an anti-virus does, it validates if the executable program is signed with a certificate before it can run in the operating system. 😅
That's not quite what an anti-virus does. An anti-virus checks a process' signature against a database of known signatures to make a decision about whether the process should be allowed to run in an environment or not (in addition to observing the activity of processes and making sure they are doing what's "allowed" and alerting on or preventing any actions that either "aren't allowed" or looks weird based on trends). Any number of programs can validate certificates, as long as they have a certificate store or root certificate authority to validate certificates against. That includes an operating system itself, like when it checks certificate stores to allow drivers to run, for example. Seraph's role seems more like triple-A function, like a RADIUS or TACACS+ server. So not only authenticating (or "validating") other programs by making sure they're who they say they are, but also making sure that person has the Oracle's authorization to see her based on who she tells him is allowed to, as well as accounting for all programs that are in her vicinity.
@itpugilbasically the Gnostic understanding of Angels and Demons. Aeons are beings of light that help humanity no matter what. Archons or the opposite, they get into men and women like parasites that take over the body, as seen with agent smith, and cause them to turn against humanity to keep them under control. And they viciously attack anyone who wakes up or tries to wake up.
Smith was seen in goldrn code too...when Neo saw him blind in the real world. I always assumed it meant part of the source code was present in that person
I always assumed that matrix code is green. And "real world"/zion code is gold. Always wondered what color is the code in the simulation level above zion.
i use to think seraph was the oracles son, but years later in life i learned about inheritance in object orientated programming, and now i cant help think that he actually became the child class of the oracle as she was also part of the first (iteration something else in programming). so by that logic is seraph a instance of the angel class that is a child class of the oracle at the end of the first iteration that inherited value of the oracle and returning him almost as a built in... as every time the matrix restarts aka when the new iteration begins, seraph with the oracle will be there
But wouldn't he inherit her abilities/methods if that were accurate? Like her ability to see the future. Would she not be obsolete as a result? Or would said abilities be more directed at say, anticipating attacks, and much shorter term clairvoyance? My programming experience is limited. And I had never considered your perspective on this matter.
@p5eudo883 im a little geeked out, as so is mine is limited. I was under the assumption with inheritance allows to you pass on select attributes and not every. after doing some research you are correct it will inherit all values however... to not share all of the values you would need to private method to restrict and getter method to pass on values... seriously thank you for your response as it made me more wiser than before it. out of curiosity, what language did you learn?
@oh-itsace9241 I'm happy to hear it! You have also helped me to refresh my knowledge of OOP. Thank you! Python is my main language. I started with Java, but didn't retain much and stopped for years. When I tried again later, I learned Python. That's when I started to really grasp OOP concepts.
I contacted the actor who played Seraph, shortly after the movie came out. He actually responded. I thought his character was great, and his portrayal of it fantastic. Seeing his much better martial arts skills on display alongside the actors who learned some martial arts on the side, was refreshing. Super cool character. Very well-acted. Collin Chou, well done.
I think that helps with this theory, too. You could argue that everyone in the Matrix learned the rules of martial arts, but Seraph IS the rules of martial arts, which is why he is unbeatable, and also how he "authenticates" others.
11:30 What’s also crazy is that during the fight between Neo and Seraph, Neo literally only hit Seraph ONCE and Seraph didn’t even seem like he was trying at all. Their first meeting was always one of my favorite scenes in the entire trilogy
@Noah-jy8wb I agree. The Trainman is on the same level or more powerful than Neo too but only when in his domain (the Train Station), which I always thought was really cool. It shows that you can be The One and still get your shit rocked by another program when you’re in an area that they completely control. Seeing the Trainman bring Neo to his knees with a single punch was crazy
@lemmihilldrix1450 Definitely keeps it more interesting that way! Kind of like Superman having a vulnerability and villains who pose a threat. It would be so boring if a hero could just walk through every encounter unscathed.
@p5eudo883Exactly! Couldn’t have said it any better, it caught me off guard when Neo got dropped by the Trainman and I wasn’t sure what would happen next!
3:50 "it is believed (and this is supported by references throughout the trilogy) that agents in the paradise matrix had wings". If I'm not mistaken, this is what your thesis is based upon, but you don't provide any evidence. Characters in the film alude to his angelic name, but never outright discuss paradise matrix or literal angels with wings. Are there any interviews from the wachowskis corobrating this? I say this as a fan btw, just feels like something super important gets glossed over cos the character has the name of the first order of angels.
They did, but he turned it down. Edit: he was also concerned with his moved being "copyrighted" by way of having them recorded for motion capture and for them to become property of WB.
Yes, that’s true but he and his wife were having another baby and he promised her that he wouldn’t take any work at the time so he could be with her 💪🏿🇺🇸🥷🏾👍🏿
The exegesis presented here is exceptional a stark contrast to the 'fast food' superficiality often found in lore analysis. The synthesis of Seraph’s theological origins in the Paradise Matrix with his functional role as a high level authentication protocol offers a profound narrative coherency. Specifically, connecting the 'Little Judas' epithet to the betrayal of the Merovingian’s Nightmare Matrix era grounds the character's golden code in a tangible history of simulated obsolescence. This is the fine dining of Matrix scholarship.
One of the elements that makes me like Seraph a lot, is that he is very old yet even with upgraded agents, he is still waaaay way way more powerful. Neo can walk og agents, even casually beat upgrades, but Seraph it's still equal.
Makes me wonder if seraph were like the Agents of the original matrix. Perhaps the architect nerfed Smith's skills, knowing some agents had turned on him in the past and refused to return to source to reboot? 🤔
I have a question...... does Neo see the golden code three times or does Neo see the golden code three times?? I forgot whether Neo sees the golden code three times 😅😂
In IT, there is something called a golden image, it means master copy. You make other versions/images from it. Maybe golden code in Seraph and The Oracle was similar to that.
You can tell that this trilogy was imagined with LSD. Absolutely brilliant on an intuitive level, but in need of much explaining to be able to see how incredible it is. Thank you for this video, Seraph has always fascinated me.
@BlackPanther-wq9xlyou have to try LSD to understand what he means. But really any hallucinogen. But really, nah. Creative people don’t need drugs to be creative.
Done LSD and had no such experience. The Matrix films are pretty complex and have fundamentally Scientific and Religious underlining. Very clever and nothing to do with Drugs.
Didn’t you know they stole the story from some random ass black woman 🤣🤣🤣 on a serious note it’s pretty sad how many people actually buy into that shit
You said Seraph had wings in the paradise matrix that he ripped off to escape but what is your source for that. There are no lines in any of the movies or the Animematrix that elude to that.
My take is that they're all programs, but THE program, the Oracle is the definitive prediction algorithm, and she's seen that the matrix will fail to contain humanity completely no matter what, as it's been mentioned that humanity has broken free and fought back before, but she also sees that humanity will never win, the war will never end, because the machines can't be beaten with force and humanity can't be shackled forever, at some point some of our minds simply refuse to bend and we escape, so she's pursuing a road to peace, trying to move both parties to a draw in chess basically. Seraph seems to be the Pinnacle of combat and strategy, maybe he was the original agent, or the blueprint for them, so if you paired the best combat program with the best prediction algorithm in the world, you see why the Oracle and seraph are basically untouchable until the end. The Merovingian having werewolves, ghosts, vampires and whatnot implies to me that at one point that we had a Mid Evil Times version of the matrix once.
They are built into the Matrix ROM, not ram. The code may only be copied, never stolen or erased. Gold source code is read only memory. Code the creators of the matrix considered the pinnacle of knowledge at the time. What we do know is that new keys may be created. New keys, new ROM. Eventually the entire purpose of the machines will be replaced with an alternate energy source; zero point energy. If you watch closely you can see this hidden key appear.
Though I loved the *entire* trilogy (and not just the first film), my favorite set of lines revolve entirely around Seraph and Neo: Seraph: "Enough. You are The One." Neo: "You could've just asked." Seraph: "No. You do not truly know someone until you fight them." NOTHING could be more true. This might hail from my experience as a competitive saber fencer (12+ medals) and as a martial artist, but I don't even see it solely as a PHYSICAL confrontation. There are, of course, levels of "combat". :) Emotional, psychological, spiritual, etc. As far as I'm concerned, you definitely, most certainly, unequivocally do not "know" someone until you've challenged them on at least 3-4 levels. Like it or not, believe it or not... this is 100% true.
Something I had never noticed before. The close-up of the DJ stopping the music. The lit number is 33. While I know that's in reference to a record rpm, it also has significant spiritual significance, and the extreme close-up shows deliberate attention drawn to the detail.
Would have been cool to have a spin off movie of just seraph and the oracle before reloaded that showed this backstory. That would have made his introduction so much more epic.
Fun Fact: Neo's code is also golden. It's never shown in the movies, however in the Matrix Path of Neo game, which is canon, you can see Neo's code whenever you toggle the ability in game and he like Seraph is golden.
Seraph got them hands registered as multi factor authenticators
😂😂😂
It's called manslaughter 😉
Lol yeah, if you die you're not the one 😂
"What's the protocol? Handshake?" - "Not exactly"
Maybe secure _boot_ is more apt ^^
Imagine Matrix: Legend of Seraph video game where you get to play seraph through the different eras from the winged seraph to the "fallen" seraph that serves to the oracle.
oh that would be a wonderful idea!!!!!
that would be a good game. They aren't interested in Making a good game.
Google genie.
I WANT THAT NOW!!!:O
@ivand5699 Too scared to use that /those. YOU do it and post a vid :D
At 9:17 the Merovingian says to Seraph, "L'ange sans ses ailes", which means "The angel without his wings".
They also call seraph "wingless" at the door on the way into the club too.
the matrix movie is a story about the Bible and other spiritual books wrapped into one .... the real matrix (America) is the counterfeit inverted simulation reality that which Caucasians created under the supervision of fallen seraphs and other celestial entities who chose corruption ...

@VikingMantis1413 because he is one of the fallen, geez, you people need a lot more study ...
@BrooklynZoo333 it's about being trans
"If you take something from me, you have to pay the price"
He was referring to the keymaker.
Perhaps both
I agree with a lot of your analysis, but I am not sure I agree with you on the Merovingian saying, "If you take something from me, you will pay the price," being a reference to Seraph. I think he was talking about the Keymaker. The Keymaker is the one who makes keys to the backdoors that allow the Merovingian the ability to hide himself and other programs in the first place.
He also calls him Judas.
Or both

She was never an exile, she was the principle villain of the trilogy.
Interesting take! Thanks for this. I'll keep this in mind when I re-watch the films.
There is no hero nor vilain in matrix movies, only lessons!
She was the installation file.
@MrGanjahdon There being no spoon was the best lesson.
I will not call her a villain. She's a control tool.
And it's not like the programme and the Matrix in itself is evil. Yes, they us human body-electricity as energie. They also give human a "life" and the right of choice.

> "This is backed up by evidence throughout the trilogy"
> Proceeds to provide none of that evidence
No evidenced, no sources, made up from nothing.
It's a great idea, expanded from a few correlations to an entire unfounded world of conspiracy theory.
But at the end of the day, it's all conceit, if this is all there is.
you butt hurt?
Sure does sound like LLM generated garbage to me..
Its backed up by his own imagination. lol
Skip to the first 2:30 prior to that he just keeps repeating himself.
OMG Thank you!! I'm not the only one!! That intro could have been half that time.
I wish I seen this comment earlier.
Thank you
Thank you for the timestamp
THANK YOU 😂
I Can't Stand When Content Makers Do That
Seraph was read-only but Agent Smith got admin permissions.
:D
He was probably the original version of Unix in his first incarnation
The New Sequel should've focused on this story
exactly....Matrix 4 was a total waste
@shemmy2933there was no matrix 4 what are you guys talking about?
@italianspiderman5012matrix resurrections
@shemmy2933never heard of it.
@shemmy2933 Matrix 4 never happened, wdym? Probably for the best. They likely would have screwed it up royally

Is it the video “agent smith was the one”? Couldn’t find one with the title you suggested
@hatb36 ruclips.net/video/plcaCamvQQg/video.html
@remy_etienne_le_beaubet,thank you
Also the oracle says that supernatural entities is the matrix’s way of assimilating exile programs. That could explain why he manifests as an angel/seraphim.
The oracle doesn’t see the future . She sees probability . Likely all possible outcomes but not the decisive outcome .
Seraphem the 6 wings with many eyes.
The seed of life. The pulse of energy around the nucleus.
People love crafting tales.
@gjallarhorn456if you know you know. If not thats ok 👋
@benmoeau7130 It's fine they will all be shocked when their time comes, and thats only if they are going up(and not down)
more food for Kenji's EVA
1:05 "His powerful level is so extreme" is a great way to start a long anime backstory.
is there a backstory yet? i need it. or i might explode..love gir.
Seraph's backstory with the Merovingian would make for a nice prequel, putting together a team as they survive the previous Matrix instances.
Seraph is the anti-virus program from the previous system. 😅 Edit: the narrator also said that seraph "validates" anyone who wishes to see the oracle. That's literally what an anti-virus does, it validates if the executable program is signed with a certificate before it can run in the operating system. 😅

Seraph's role seems more like triple-A function, like a RADIUS or TACACS+ server. He is a Seraphim. It's in his name.
In Hebrew Seraphim is the plural of seraph.
@shadejalik4769 Seraphim or "Burning ones" are the highest ranked celestial angels
Castiel?
I was waiting for you to reference the guard scene outside the club when he says "holy .... it's wingless!"
His Golden Code is beautiful..
He's amazing. Needs his own movie
Seraph is an Aeon, Smith and the Agents are Archons.
what is an aeon and an archon?
@itpugilbasically the Gnostic understanding of Angels and Demons.
Aeons are beings of light that help humanity no matter what.

@Keldaj thank you!
@Keldaj cool, thanks!
Agent Smith was The One within the Matrix because he is the being that ultimately destroyed it
Smith was seen in goldrn code too...when Neo saw him blind in the real world. I always assumed it meant part of the source code was present in that person

You missed the part where Smith says oh I'm not do bad once you get to know me
10:09 that confrontation happened in Revolutions, not Reloaded.
A lot of things this video mentioned was from Revolution.
Thanks sick
Related to Robin Chou? He looks like him.
Could you do the Kid's story? His is one of the most fascinating sub-stories only briefly mentioned in the following movie.
The guys who wrote this movie are beyond genius. How is all of this lore derived outside of the film since the film is the only existing source
this is gonna blow your mind... remember when the Oracle offered Neo a cookie?
Cookies....
@user-tz9ns3cb8m Oh shit!
Seraph means "Angelic Being". He's basically part of the original code from the original Matrix. That's why he has the golden coding.
"A rogue program REFUSING deletion". How wild does that sound!!!
11:30 What’s also crazy is that during the fight between Neo and Seraph, Neo literally only hit Seraph ONCE and Seraph didn’t even seem like he was trying at all. Their first meeting was always one of my favorite scenes in the entire trilogy
Hes equal to Neo
In hand to hand combat that is, dont get me wrong..

They had wings in some games/content
This is great information. Thanks for sharing!
15:49 ha, audio change.... hmmm interesting. Seems like the original is slowed down...
I once read somewhere that they asked Jet Li to act as Seraph
They did, but he turned it down.
Edit: he was also concerned with his moved being "copyrighted" by way of having them recorded for motion capture and for them to become property of WB.
Jet Li has good resemblance of Seraph on his portrayal of Sing Ku in Lethal Weapon 4.
Yes, that’s true but he and his wife were having another baby and he promised her that he wouldn’t take any work at the time so he could be with her 💪🏿🇺🇸🥷🏾👍🏿
Please do a video on Ghost (one of the candidates who was being groomed to be the one)
@07:42 Why did the Nightmare Matrix fail?
Too many people died suffering without hope
Too chaotic.
great video but that chord sound in the background wasn't necessary for the entire video
i didnt even notice until I read this
@mightykartoffel7451 haha must be my headset or i'm just sensitive
26 years later and I’m still learning new things about this epic trilogy.
you need to F the background noise off
On the contrary, I find it soothing.
@dnt06Makes me sleepy 😴
Very insignificant tbh
i do remember the bouncers referring to Seraph as Wingless as they see him walking closer to them before heading up to see the Merovingian

Jesus, never before have I read a RUclips comment and my only take-away from it was:
I really need to start reading some books.
@ryanstahl8825 The 'fine dining' isn't for everyone, but the library is always open.
You neglected to mention dichotomy at all. Anakin would not approve.
Awesome video!! Thanks for the explanation! Im glad you covered Seraph. He is one of the most overlooked character in Matrix
One of the elements that makes me like Seraph a lot, is that he is very old yet even with upgraded agents, he is still waaaay way way more powerful. Neo can walk og agents, even casually beat upgrades, but Seraph it's still equal.

I have a question...... does Neo see the golden code three times or does Neo see the golden code three times?? I forgot whether Neo sees the golden code three times 😅😂
deja vu.
whos 3th ?
27 Jahre nach der Veröffentlichung und wir lernen immer noch was neues xD
9:36 sorry what were you trying to explain, got distracted again. Oh yeah seraph, pls continue.
Amen brother… my sentiments exactly.
What, when, who?😅😅
Fantastic breakdown, good lore info, sub'd! 🤘🫠🤘
Interesting video Can you cite your sources?
His butt. Third fold, fifth hair from the left.
This was a cool video upload thanks.
4:34 You could say Seraph is short for Seraphim which is an entity close to God in Christianity. So he could have been a guardian.
Seraphim is the plural form.
Make a movie about his journey.
In IT, there is something called a golden image, it means master copy. You make other versions/images from it. Maybe golden code in Seraph and The Oracle was similar to that.
git fetch origin git checkout master
Merovigian was talking about the keymaker and the oracle needing a new shell
Recasting the Oracle with Morgan Freeman was brilliant
LMFAO!! 🤣🤣
Your pure evil😂😂
I've learned more about the movies in 6 mins than I did all that time watching them.
You can tell that this trilogy was imagined with LSD. Absolutely brilliant on an intuitive level, but in need of much explaining to be able to see how incredible it is. Thank you for this video, Seraph has always fascinated me.
Why LSD specifically out of all substances
@BlackPanther-wq9xlyou have to try LSD to understand what he means. But really any hallucinogen. But really, nah. Creative people don’t need drugs to be creative.
Done LSD and had no such experience.
The Matrix films are pretty complex and have fundamentally Scientific and Religious underlining.
Very clever and nothing to do with Drugs.
Didn’t you know they stole the story from some random ass black woman 🤣🤣🤣 on a serious note it’s pretty sad how many people actually buy into that shit
Shame the fourth one sucked
These videos make me want a Matrix prequel series based on these characters development into the current version.
You said Seraph had wings in the paradise matrix that he ripped off to escape but what is your source for that. There are no lines in any of the movies or the Animematrix that elude to that.
*allude
We gotta love your synthesizer skills..
Prodigal doesn’t mean one who returns after being away, it means lavish to the point of wasteful…. Everyone gets that wrong
That closed a lot of gaps ..awesome
Just curious. Where did you find this backstory?
It came to him in a dream.
He made it up
This why my google chrome be not responding
My personal theory is that Seraph and the Oracle are not programs, but digitized human consciousnesses that were uploaded to the Matrix.
YABBA THE DABBA DOO?
@Tippertheforklift medieval*
I have a feeling this guy was suppose to be casted by Jet Li.
This is true. Jet turned it down and colin chou took it
Ah yes, the 'art' of taking 16 minutes to convey 3 minutes of information, next time just make a short.
Me: I shouldn't overthink
Also me:
Too much repetition.
Seraph identity and purpose can be deducted in the name itself: Seraphim
Though I loved the *entire* trilogy (and not just the first film), my favorite set of lines revolve entirely around Seraph and Neo:
Seraph: "Enough. You are The One."
Neo: "You could've just asked."
Seraph: "No. You do not truly know someone until you fight them."
NOTHING could be more true.
The ACTUAL Story of Seraph in the Matrix starts at 2:00
You keep repeating yourself to draw it out. Lame.
Watching this because Seraph is my favorite character and we need more content on him in 2026
Also I think he is gold in the video game too
Ok who's ready for a Matrix reboot: The Nightmare Matrix.
@3:25 I've never noticed this in the actual movie LOL.
Thanks for the explanation…
Sounds like Seraph needs his own movie.
I would like a video about the twins. They were out of world cool back than - and still now
Crazy that I was born in the yr this was released.. And by far my favorite movies growing up😂
The Oracle was the angel of Destiny from the paradise matrix.
Seraph is basically a firewall
5:01 so that's where john wick got his one handed chamber checking move
0:43 heh decode neat ;)
Something I had never noticed before. The close-up of the DJ stopping the music. The lit number is 33. While I know that's in reference to a record rpm, it also has significant spiritual significance, and the extreme close-up shows deliberate attention drawn to the detail.
I thought he was a firewall or anti virus/protection for the Oracle
Neo was also golden code in the last movie when he connected in the machine city.
Seraph: Are you a robot?
When are you gonna drop the video about the nightmare matrix?
Seraph is a firewall in which the Oracle is behind
I'm not sure why, but I'm the humming in the background is sending subliminal messages to my brain
can you do a video on the trainman?
Would have been cool to have a spin off movie of just seraph and the oracle before reloaded that showed this backstory. That would have made his introduction so much more epic.
movies without Seraph in them are sans Seraph.
2:57 should’ve been me smh 🤦🏽♂️
When he met him he said we all have a choice. 😯 I pulled the DVD out.
0:24 my fav!
Thanks for you work! i love Matrix movies!
So much to unpack- it's a gift that keeps on giving ;)
Fun Fact: Neo's code is also golden. It's never shown in the movies, however in the Matrix Path of Neo game, which is canon, you can see Neo's code whenever you toggle the ability in game and he like Seraph is golden.
Path of Neo is not canon.
@11:26 I thought Niobe had also been on the list of people who beat an agent in combat 🤔
