Just popped on youtube and this popped up. Proper popping today. I will enjoy this Very good editing on this, the 5th element/ Flintstones inserts and sienfeld bit especially good
Dan Thomas suggesting that James Spader was carb loading since the early 90's was hilarious. Very nice editing as always, can't blame you for using clips from better movies. 😂
Thanks! What started as a joke actually left me days after thinking this film may have had a bit more of an influence on movies/ pop culture than I realised. Of course it had a successful TV series after as well so it had a hit on something in the public psyche.
This is just all kinds of superlatives! Thank you as always for the visceral experience that is Toddits meets Smershpod! This one in particular has marginally suppressed my childhood memories of being utterly disappointed at having this as the only age appropriate option to watch at the cinema on my birthday as an 11 year old!
@@Toddits In defense of the film, I assume they are going by the usual "Let's just assume everyone innocent had been taken outside and only the real bad guys are suffering harm now" rules. Or maybe we're meant to think they're actually evil kids and Kurt Russell's character was just being a wuss because of trauma and he should have shot, so if he blew them at the end, f*ck 'em! I dunno, and who cares, it's pre-series Stargate.
Speaking of unrealistically packed public lectures, that's one thing that's always bothered me about the film 12 Monkeys. (And I think there was something similar in the film Hannibal?) I know that such lectures used to be popular, but that was in the 19th century, when entertainment options were extremely limited. Now, someone might give a public talk at the city library, but their audience would be no more than 30 people - and in a well-lit room, not a shadowy mausoleum.
OMG I remember thinking the same as a kid. This and Star Trek Generations gave me the same sort of ambiguous after feeling of whether I really like it or not.
I just want to know how we went from "hey I found this circle made out of a weird metal with some spinny bits." to "This is for certain a gateway to the stars, I am so certain that I will spend billions retrofitting Cheyenne mountain for the purpose. Is there a Daniel Jackson analog out there trying to figure out how to turn on the archway portals that the Romans left behind?
Honestly them making fun of the fact thye filmed this in Arizona and there's probably a Dunkin donuts begind the camera is extra funny because in reality theres a fucking Pizza Hut behind the fucking real Pyramids of Giza.
its funny, but sorry, I think the movie is fine. We cannot discredit a 1994 film due to the CGI or SFX at the time. Star Trek The Motion Picture has shit SFX & its fine too. The storyline of them bringing Spader in to tell them what they already knew and had a contingency plan in affect IS and has always irritate me. But with all the Pedowood dumpster fires burning these days, this film is wonderful
Dan Thomas is my favorite Smersh-guest.
Yes. I was waiting for Christopher Walken to show up for a voice cameo.
Hi dan
Can you imagine Christopher Walken as Ra?
This was brilliant. The Holy Grail reference was chefs kiss awesome
Oh, the Lancelot bit is glorious
Keep it up man, I became a Smersh Pod fan recently and these edits are fantastic. More Dan Thomas!
I'll certainly try

Thank you very much!
It's always a treat to hear Rich Evans angelic laughter.
SORRY! That's RLM
Thanks for uploading, BanyaBat
SORRY! You're Toddits.
I see what you did there...
@@Toddits You didn't. But your brain did!... No, wait, that's a reference to the other guy.
John and Dan mesh so well together. Good job editing random scenes from 'similar' movies. I thought that was a nice touch. Great edits as always.
Thanks! John and Dan are a force together - really hard to edit to them sometimes!
Toddits! Massive thanks for another upload mate!
My pleaseure
Very good edit! Thank you!
Thank you
Evening saved by Smersh. Thx guys 🙏
Thanks for introducing me to the world of Smersh pod. I’ve been a fan ever since.
My absolute pleasure

..."suggesting"?! I mean, we got no concrete evidence, but the mass changes speaks for themselves.
These English and welsh chaps are the reason I comeback to YT
May as well have a poster declaring "I HATE THE SCOTTISH". Racist.

I love this movie. But now... I love this takedown even more. The Monty Python running bit gave me tears of laughter!
So nice I had to do it twice
Doing the lords work, please do continue
Whilst I breathe and have arms
Brilliant editing as always, mate! You should consider Smersh Pod's coverage of the Hunt for Red October
Thank you and good call!
Another great upload!
Thank you

I had a similar experience as a wee lad. This and Star Trek Generations left me feeling a bit.....off.
Still convinced Ancient Aliens is solely inspired by this series/film.
"I don't feel so bad about it now, because it's like a drop in the ocean!" was a great closing line.
Couldn't find anything else to top that :)

The combo of Han Solo from Star Wars, and the ewoks from ROTJ was perfect 😂

That Monty Python bit was f**king hilarious 😆
Brilliant editing as always, bro 👍
Ha! Glad you liked that one.
This is awesome
Great commentary, and a fantastic edit (as usual)!
I've just discovered your channel! OMG the level of research in there. Absolute kudos - subscribed.
Aw, thanks! I keep meaning to get back to that Indy one. I just need the free time (and willpower).
@@csmadisun I wouldn't have the will power! It's very well done.
You're too kind.
(And yes, willpower is the main thing holding me back :p)
Most employees at the History Channel think Stargate is a documentary.
Dan Thomas is my new favourite person
I knew the Lancealot running sequence was coming this time but it still killed me of ahahha
Excellent...
aight, that monty python running edit, got me literally lolling
:)
Disneys Atlantis ripped this off

That was fucking outstanding! ❤
Thank you!
Oh my god the memories you triggered from playing Super Mario Land in the car...
Hey, this is all great but the amulet was found at the dig site.
Gun was literally in my mouth when I saw the thumbnail
Don't be like Kurt Russell in this film..
Lol "23:30" Great work!
Thank you :)
brilliant
Thanks
0:33 - Oh god damn it, that music unlocked a memory but I cannot for the life of me remember what gameboy game that comes from, does anyone know?
Super Mario Land, Track 2, Stage 1-3 :)
Plz don't destroy my few happy memories
It's okay. It was a decent film really.

The real question is if Jackson would have pulled the trigger if the kids never found the guns. 👍
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
gud
Another one.
Do fitfh element next, mr sunday movies wont :(
I have a somewhat dream/ wish to actually do an episode with John about the Fifth Element..
Honestly them making fun of the fact thye filmed this in Arizona and there's probably a Dunkin donuts begind the camera is extra funny because in reality theres a fucking Pizza Hut behind the fucking real Pyramids of Giza.
Whether it's this film or The Mummy (1999), Hollywood straight up refusing to put any Middle Eastern/North African actors on screen is messed up.

I'm a little confused what kind of channel this is. Or who it's from. It's like, all over the place.
