      Problem are the lawmakers as well..... tax avoiding should just be illegal. And even if there is a loophole in the system, you should be treated like a criminal. If you're a teenager and come home at 2 am at night when your mother told you to be home at 11 pm. I see none of you telling his mother that 2 am is earlier than 11 pm, even though it's true. Because everyone involved knows what was meant. And this is the same about loopholes in our tax system. It's common sense that everyone should pay his taxes. If you think you can trick the hard working society and betray them, you should go to hell!

      That is exactly what satire should do. Critizise and ridicule where it hurts. Here in Germany we have the "Kunstfreiheit" freedom of expression through art ... it is may be the highest form of freedom to say what you want that we own. It is volatile but it is part of our society since the 70´s . We have a whole section of satire called "Political Cabaret" that has this one job: tell the people about serious and complex things in a way that makes them laugh ... even if the situation is so bad that you want to cry. And yes ... this video is so danm on point -_-

Spending 300 millions to the Trump rally and afterwards thankfully being announced leader of DOGE , giving him access to protected data and guaranteing him a big stack of new contracts with federal offices .
      Trump himself made how much during his first 8 month using his position ? 5 Billions ?

      True, but in the US, they have Bernie Sanders with a quite similar message. The problem is: too many people are not interested enough in politics to listen.

    • @Beatinfected
      @Beatinfected 6 months ago +7

      @juschu9642 Even if they would, you still cant change the system within the system. We need to overcome capitalism to change anything.

    • @pomx89
      @pomx89 6 months ago +12

      @Beatinfected It's not that complicated. Capitalism has its advantages and is more or less indispensable to our market economy. But we need to become more socialist, which means giving the state the means to redistribute funds. The simplest way is to take money from the rich and give it back to the poor. To do this, we need to make everyone except the rich understand that it's in their best interest. But strangely enough, many people don't understand that. That's why this video is so good. It explains the problem and how to solve it in relatively simple language.

    • @Beatinfected
      @Beatinfected 6 months ago +4

      @pomx89 It is a bit more complicated, than you picture it. The more money you have the more power over legislation and media you gain. That means one the one hand the super rich dictates what the most people think and on the other hand they influence the law to their advantage.
      You cant overcome this dilemma without overcoming capitalism - simply because it is the nature of capitalism.

      Maybe the old dutch saying "de duivel schijt altijd op de grootste hoop" ("The devil always shits on the biggest pile.") is also true ... 😬
      In the Netherlands, there are still families descended from the “Heeren Zeventien” (the directors of the Dutch East India Company) who remain among the wealthiest. The majority of Dutch people are descended from poor farmers and peat workers, who were later exploited in factories. So, in most cases, there is no large family fortune.

    The problem already starts with the fact that the people who vote for neoliberal parties do not even realize that they are being cheated. They do not consider themselves part of the working class; they define themselves as employees or self-employed individuals who are not part of the exploited. In the USA, it is even worse, where everyone sees themselves as a future millionaire. The barrier is not between the top and the bottom; the barrier runs directly through people's minds, and that is intended. The goal is to talk people out of a politics that would benefit 90% of our society. There is a metaphor that describes this well. A banker, a BILD reader (USA: Fox News viewer), and a refugee (USA: Mexican) are sitting at a table. There are twelve cookies on the table. The banker takes eleven and says to the BILD reader (Fox News viewer): 'The refugee (Mexican) wants your cookie!'.
    It is absolutely true what Felix says, wages and salaries have been falling for decades because wage increases are not higher than the inflation rate. At the same time, new fees and charges keep coming, and real incomes are declining. Meanwhile, the wealth of the super-rich even increases to absurd levels during times of crisis. We are being pitted against each other with nationalism, e.g., Trump's tariff policy, DOGE, etc., and racism, while billionaires are siphoning money out of the system in trucks. They stuff your mouth with cheaply produced hamburgers and drugs, and the story about the evil neighbor who wants to take everything away from you. They reduce the money that flows into school education just enough so that you remain a useful idiot, but don’t understand what is happening around you. The few who understand this are labeled as radical leftists, socialists, or communists to instill fear in people. Interestingly, this enemy image comes from the Cold War and at that time it was 'the evil Russian'. They continued with this narrative, even though today the far right want to be best buddies with Putin. The few who understand this are then defamed in political, social, and personal ways. Even appearance, language, or clothing are criticized instead of engaging with the statements. The smallest events from the past are being used to destroy a political candidate, while at the same time, a convicted criminal is the President of the USA, or the far right AfD, the self-proclaimed Law and Order party, which has by far the most convicted criminals as representatives in the parliament.

      Viele "Supervermögen" werden tatsächlich in Stiftungen angelegt, aus denen die Familienmitglieder ihre Zuwendungen beziehen. Dies dient nicht nur dazu Steuern zu sparen, sondern auch zu verhindern, dass angeheiratete über ein signifikates Erbe verfügen können und den klassischen Erbstreit zu verhindern. Diese Stiftungen wiederum werden aus Firmenertragsüberschüssen gespeist, da die Stiftung selbst Eigentümer /Miteigentümer der Firma ist.
      Beispiele sind: Aldi Nord und die Markusstiftung; Hagenbeks Tierpark; und viele andere bekannte Namen.
      Erbschaftssteuer(auch Schenkungssteuer) wird bereits gezahlt für Ehepartner und Kinder gilt ein Freibetrag von 400000,-€ ; Enkel 200000,-€ Außenstehende erben max. 12500€ Steuerfrei.

      Right, if rich young invest in companies to make products and services r ally needed: great, keep company money. But if they waste it on extreme luxury: no.
      Keep 1 Million, rest of private capital has to go back to public national capital.

      Even better would be a transaction tax for each transaction on the stock exchange.
      Only in Germany the transaction turnover is about 1 trillion Euro.
      A transaction tax of 0.1% would bring 1 billion Euro PER DAY

    Just watched your reaction and I have to say: you are right: Everyone in Germany should see this clip. Especially those who yell at the poorest, migrants, refugees, or people who can’t work for a reason. The cookie joke nails that mindset perfectly. I’ve already shared the video with many people and will keep doing so. Because people need to understand the system if they want to fix it. Not run after idiots selling the easy “the Syrian next door is taking everything” lie. I was surprised how emotional you got, but I get it. It is hard, it does hurt, and politicians are lying when they pretend otherwise.
    Thanks for sharing and hugs from Germany

    If you're getting chills from that video, start reading critical theory. No matter, how often it get's framed as "leftist" or "radical", using statistics and facts to analyze the flaws of capitalism as a system is key to understanding, how our world works. And espacially for whom our world works and the injustice in that.

    crazy how hard this video is hitting a liberal progressive young man in the USA. this shows very clear that in the USA nearly nobody is left in a European style. This was nothing rare, not radical, you can hear sich things everywhere in Germany. We are woke, but even this is not enough to stop things getting worse. We need much more woke people, woke for human values, nothing more is needed.

    Hello, I'm French, living near the German and Belgian borders. I totally agree with that guy, but I have a question for you (because I want to understand better without being biased) : I often hear that Democrats are called the left wing. Since Socialism is the historical left but isn't loved in your country, please explain how can Democrats be described as left wing? Because from what I see, it's rather right wing ans Republicans are far right wing (not to say fascists....). And, by the way, we have the same problem in France about few ultra richs .....

      Words can be tricky. The same words can have slightly or even wholly different meanings in other countries. Like for many/most(? people in the USA there is only one kind of socialism, the kind Europe fought off over100 years ago, the kind that would completely take over a state. That socialism could be used in carefully measured amounts seems to be an alien thought in the USA.
      Same with when they learn that 'Nazi' was short for the Nationalist Social Party in Germany. There is the word 'socialist' in it and suddenly they know what the problem with the Nazis were, which in truth had nothing to do with socialism, but was all about fascism.

      @Dreamfox-df6bgso, what we roughly say in France about parties, is that the left cares about people, health care, education and culture. The right is only concerned about money (how to satisfy companies owners and shush employees), immigration and military. The far right is against women rights, they are racists and anti Europe.

    if the rich would spend their money on kaviar and other goods like that, the problem would actually be a lot smaller because ordinary people could benefit from providing these goods.
    instead they spend it on land, houses and other resources we all NEED (and can't create to sell), skyrocketing prices and their own value even more at the same time.
    the argument against wealth taxes that always comes is "then they would just leave the country and take their wealth with them" but they CAN'T take land aka the nr1 resource of wealth.

    The Heute Show is awesome and tell also the truth. where many do not want to listen. The good thing in most European countries is that the countries do not have a two-party system like the US. There are more options to choose from whom you feel more addressed by. Even the former finance minister of Switzerland said in an interview that if nothing changes in Germany, one can only light a candle and pray on Sundays.

    • @cindz4618
      @cindz4618 6 months ago

      The UK system doesn't officially but in all but name, it still does as the parliament system is still mainly set up this way. Its creaking under the reforms it needs but it benefits the 2 main parties and people always go for the " familiar options" that they feel ' safer with'. Ignorance of the system and basic economics doesn't help us..
      The system in Spain is very precarious( officially more than 2 parties but 2 tend to dominate) due to different regional pulls and independence parties which are seen as a threat to destroy the delicate balance of ' unity' that is Spain( a bit of a knock on , in part still, of the civil war abd dictatorshipthat it went through). There is still a huge amount of corruption in parties in power which is NEVER adequately dealt with. ..The banks have a tight hold on who holds the billionaire privileges. The Euro introduced, prices up, wages stagnated, more billionaires, politicians with lifetime pay!!! - for example.

    It IS the same in the USA. You are just 10 years ahead with that. Warren Buffet said "its a war between the rich and the others and the rich ones are winning". they are winning but it might not end well for them. History knows lots of situations where the upper crust got wiped away from the poor. Unfortunately mostly the upper crusties got exchanged by new upper crusties, just different names.
