- Two years ago, Ralph Roelse decided to take a break from his commercial photography work and followed his passion for painting. In this period he evolved as an artist and created a series of large-scale minimalistic and unauthorized paintings on freight trains.
Last summer I had the pleasure to follow Ralph on one of his trips to the train yard. Our collaboration resulted in a beautiful short film titled Ectogenesis. In this film, we tried to capture the magic of a painting coming alive and invites you to join Ralph Roelse on one of his nightly adventures.

Yes it’s definitely different from traditional graffiti. But when you think about it, graffiti is about a certain mindset and not about the outcome. I love showing new forms of graffiti and art.

Love the photo at 5:33 . I'm not really sure I understand the piece, but it looks brutal. So many options to turn this into a 3 letter burner with a fat outline. Just add Yellow or chrome.

This dude makin me nervous lol....if the bull pulls up they arent gonna think its graffiti but some sabatoge shit.....some of my best memories are painting the yards in oakland and always having to watch over your back. Also its common courtesy to not go over the numbers, the freight yards will usually let your shit run but if you go over the numbers they will put a big stamp back over that.

The artist in the video was fully involved in the process. It was a decision made by the artist himself to not blur anything in this video. I would never show any writer their face without any permission.

Respect for showing face on video. But I don't get it. The end result looks like nothing. Why would the van need a black coating before the white lines? You only made the identifiers disappear which makes the railway company to hate graffiti writers
