There is just nothing in the world like young Elvis 1954 - 1958. Nothing can compare. Such a voice, such a command of his audience. I'm so glad I was around when he began, such memories. LOVE ELVIS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Elvis's voice was at its best in the fifties in the early sixties in the seventies he developed power but he had much more control and diversity in the early years this is a classic ballad from the fifties I was the one the voice is solful and smooth as silk Elvis was at his best between 1955 and 1963
Well yea performing 3 times a night everyday will excessively fatigue a person. Had he taken time to relax he still would perform and sing like his early years
i talked about this video lots of times on you tube but nobody seemed to know of it .they kept taliking about the later version in the studio .i had a great copy of this on vhs but lost it years ago.started thinking that some people were hiding it.elvises voice here was so rich and pure unbelievable.thanks for posting it
His range as a self taught young man was ridiculous. He was known to mimic singers as a kid but found his own unique delivery. People used to make fun of his southern speaking voice but that contributed to his singing in a way nobody else could do. Almost every song he sung that was originally sung by someone else, he made better, because his unique version..like “Earth Angel” and he remade several Ray Charles songs that he did very well, you can’t outdo Rays versions but he did them just as well in my opinion. Elvis was gifted because he was a sponge and from his early years of struggle and his black influences that made him different than most white guys and how they delivered honky tonk and country music, Elvis was born to the blues and lived with the same passion and emotion in his voice that only the rocking chair blues can pull from you. There was joy in his voice but there was also poverty and struggle, love and heartache..he was a humble kid who had a fire inside him from childhood and it sparked a legend in his own time!
This song is absolutely perfect and could not be done like that by anyone else. The song and story are so real I feel I am living it and suffering in it. Every part is also unique. Credit to the back up singers too.

This is a perfect song. L-l-love it. but I can't help singing along with him at the top of my lungs. just like I did in 1956
De argentina,de pie ante el artista de todos los tiempos..no habra ninguno igual. The king...
I simply have one question….How on earth did he do it so perfectly. So unique at the time and forevermore.
Right! He did it live and pitch perfect..and his voice so pure..
