I saw Genesis farewell tour and Mike Rutherford played a Squire Strat on several live songs, it was a fantastic farewell to one of Britain's best Prog Rock Bands, 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Not a fan of Strats, but thought I might like a Tele. Bought a US Fender a few years back, never liked it & traded it for another 335. I kind of wish I had gone for a Squire Tele, I would have felt less let down, or even better just gone for the G&L blues boy semi hollow Tele that was all it's own thing & was not easy to put down in the shop. The other great thing about the Epiphone & Squire price points is that I can almost justify purchasing against my low point of ability. They are a good match. I am not sure my wife feels the same about the justification. It kind of allows me to buy more guitars!
I bought a squire classic vibe 60,s model thinline Tellecaster, had to have it , it was diffrent, the neck was slim and fast, the all around look of it was fantastic. Fits me perfect, everybody i showed it to says it looks great. It looks like a much more expensive guitar. Cant brag enough on the squire line. They are awesome.
I’ve bought a few of these CV squires and as much as I really want to love them I just found them lacking in so many ways. MIM seems to be the best bang for buck for fenders.
Appreciate the love you guys show to these affordable brands.. Epiphone and squier are crushing it rn...I picked up a 2020 epi es339 inspired by Gibson line and it is fantastic 😊
I have owned the CV mustang and CV thin line tele…both are great guitars. I’m 62 and my first guitar was a 1969 Fender competition mustang. The Squire CV is better than the Fender one!
Love the video. I have a 2020 Squire CV 70's in natural. Absolutely love it. The two piece poplar body is beautiful. The aged maple neck with the Indian laurel fretboard and large CBS headstock is perfect. If the MIM Strats are any better than this, I'd find that hard to believe. If one is not a gear snob and don't mind what's on the headstock, than this is the perfect Strat . I wish Gibson/Epiphone would do the same as Fender/ Squire and share the same headstock.
Five or 6 years ago, the Bullet was $99, then jumped to $129, and the Affinity was $199. Above that, they had a Vintage Mod 70's that was $299 (NOW DISCONTINUED), and then the Classic Vibe for $399. They dropped the VM70, so that they could boost the Affinity price by $100.
I have an 83 SQ series Strat that I bought in Germany while in the service in the 1980s. It plays and sounds as good as any Fender Strat I have ever played. I recently bought a Les Paul Studio just because I always wanted one but I find myself still playing the Strat.
I own the Affinity Jazzmaster. It has a strat style bride and tremolo and it’s such a good mix between the two. I call it a Jazzocaster sometimes. But man is it a fantastic guitar for the price
I have a MIJ 82 strat. I own 35 electrics of all brands and pedigrees but my 82 strat remains my go to. I set it up at purchase. It has never needed another. I stopped even looking at regular Fenders after that as I have found the Squires to be just as good or better. By the way, the Electromatics by Gretsch are a great bargain too. Save your clams for a nice Rick or a custom made Vox Phantom from Phantom Guitars in the US of A.
The Paranormal Tele RH is an amazing guitar - bought it as a mod platform and I don't want to change a thing. And neck-and-neck (so to speak) with it is the Squier Paranormal Strat-o-sonic, which is my favorite SG at an amazing price. And if you can snag a 40th Anniversary, do it - I have both the strat and the tele, and the necks alone are worth the price. I have guitars that cost four or five times the price of these Squiers, but when I have a few minutes to play, somehow it's the Squiers I keep picking up. Thanks for this and all your videos - some of the very very best here on RUclips!
I love cheap stuff that works 🥰 As a car nut, I've been recommending Toyotas to all my car-buying friends since the '70s. As a musician and a bassist, I've been recommending Squier to all my up-and-coming musician friends. I own an even dozen of 'em, a mix of 6-stringers and basses. Of late, the fit and finish is beautiful, and so is the sound quality, onstage and off. A tremendous value. I'm particularly in love with my new Rascal Paranormal bass ❤
I own and play many guitars. I have 323 high end to mid range. Our Squires get played the most. I have three classic vibe teles and they are all super, along with my strats. I also own a Tele with a tele pickup and a Jazzmaster pickup in the neck position. It was one of those odd ball guitars Fender put out some years back on a limited run. That gets played a lot because of its unusual pickup configuration it covers a lot of ground tonally.
I bought a whole bunch (around 20) CV’s and Paranormals recently during the end of the year blowout sale w/ Proaudiostar. The Paranormals were head and shoulders above the Classic Vibes in terms of build quality and tone. The old CV’s which were MIC were nice instruments, but these more recent ones are lacking IMO (now made in Indonesia fwiw)…most need a lot of work out of the box. Noteworthy Paranormals (all MIC) were the Offset Teles and Cabronita Thinline Teles…REALLY nice instruments that punch well above their price point, most of them just needed action adjusted to taste and nothing else. The Cyclone is really cool too. Def. recommend anything from the Paranormal Series, big win for Squier.
I have 3 Squiers . The first one is an 84/87 E series Strat. The 2nd one is an Affinity series from '05 and a '23 Bullet string through body Telecaster . No upgrades to the Tele. an old 2 wire distortion in the bridge of the Affinity and Seymor Duncans STK's in the 84/97. The latter is almost an Identical version of my friends Early 80's American Strat.
Love your channel. I have a 40th anniversary gold Telecaster in black, and a new Starcaster CV. First time Ive bought Squier been playing for 50 years still getting used to them. Good value for the price. Purchased from a famous Chicago guitar shop love that place as well.
A Squier is also great if you are not sure if you would like a Strat or a Tele. Getting a Squier is a low cost way to get one and live with it for a while.
I recently purchased a Squire Classic Vibe FSR Custom Baritone....I love the custom color (purple sparkle) and the fact it's just over 7lbs but have discovered I prefer a satin neck which this did not have. It's not that sticky but would have preferred a satin neck.
I'm surprised nobody is talking about the tele 70s cv thinline limited edition. It's got block inlays and a bound neck. I've never seen a Fender or Squier with a bound neck. Sweetwater has channel bound fender necks for $719 which is almost twice what they cost. It's a gorgeous guitar and sounds excellent. And nobody is talking about them? Block inlays and bound neck, a massive departure from normal for Fender/Squier.
I've got a Classic Vibe PJ jag bass in all black its really sweet and you can get some really cool sounds on the stacked knobs plus it sounds awesome out of the box the only thing I would do is get rid of the gloss on the back if the neck. The frets look really cool and sounds awesome
Getting back to learning guitar now and my first was a Squier Strat Pack that was so tough to learn on that I got rid of it. I’ve avoided Squier as I’ve been doing research in hopes of getting another guitar to try to learn on. Are they better than they were say 22 years ago?
Bought from OfferUp a Squier strat Standard cherry sunburst limited edition in excellent condition 6 years ago. Thinking about trading it for a bass guitar but realized the standard model has been discontinued. Now I’m not sure if I should just keep it since it will be hard to find one used online
I have the classic vibe 50s strat....my favorite guitar! I had a MIM strat, and I don't hear or feel much of a difference between the two. I would trust and consider another classic vibe.
I bought the contemporary tele first in white. Then bought both colors in the Stratocaster special. The blue is my fav. Just gonna add the emg pick guard to the Strats. They just need a setup and fret buff. Really good guitars after
I did try a surf green paranormal tele it was so sweet when I was trying to find a tele to do country on. I ended up getting a fender mim tele in the end but it was def still a great guitar
I saw a squire jazzmaster with 2 humbuckers that looked pretty awesome 2 me . Squire was my first couple guitars and I can't remember anything bad about them. I wish they used rosewood or ebony fretboards though. At least a piece of roasted maple or something. These new woods don't look that great to me
...and they just release ANOTHER series....a 12 string electric....a Strat with Tele electronics WITH P90's...and one other interesting variant I can't recall. Saw a Brit guy on YT announce it yesterday. ...TheGuitarGeek...check it. ......a Nashville ==> STRAT!! cool...
I bet that active Starcaster is a handful on stage. I have the original one and I hate it. I cannot imagine a sealed top version with some shithot pickups in it. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I got a classic vibe 50s Strat in red, changed the guard to gold aluminum only cuz no sense changing the pick-ups the stock are killer.. my only real problem are the thin tall frets.. do all the CVs have these or do the 60 or 70 models have a med jumbo type? want a squire tele but not with those thin tall ones..

I have the same guitar, I love it! Mine has the roasted maple neck (at least stained to LOOK like roasted maple).
I had no idea Fender was doing Squier back in '82. Nice fact. Thanks!
I really like the look of the offset Telecaster.
I’ve bought a few of these CV squires and as much as I really want to love them I just found them lacking in so many ways. MIM seems to be the best bang for buck for fenders.
Yup, I fell for the hype around the CV as well. They’re good for the price but they are still cheap Asian imports.
Appreciate the love you guys show to these affordable brands.. Epiphone and squier are crushing it rn...I picked up a 2020 epi es339 inspired by Gibson line and it is fantastic 😊
Squier, Epiphone and PRS SE's are the best deals out there in guitars!
So many fun squiers in the last few years, they’re killing it
I have owned the CV mustang and CV thin line tele…both are great guitars. I’m 62 and my first guitar was a 1969 Fender competition mustang. The Squire CV is better than the Fender one!

I have the classic vibe starcaster in olympic white and man she's a thing of beauty! Very unique look and unique sound too and comfortable to play!

No mention of the Classic Vibe '60s Stratocaster. I love mine.
You're right, I missed that one! 60s with Indian laurel is great. Thanks for watching!

i have the paranormal Cyclone . love it . I had the 70s Jag but sold it but wanting to buy it again
I got a Squire Starcaster, it plays okay but the 3-way switch is screwed up the bridge doesn't come on you have to wiggle the switch back and forth
Hell if Billy gibbons can use a squier on stage, that's a pretty decent endorsement of their current quality.
I've got a Classic Vibe PJ jag bass in all black its really sweet and you can get some really cool sounds on the stacked knobs plus it sounds awesome out of the box the only thing I would do is get rid of the gloss on the back if the neck. The frets look really cool and sounds awesome
My Squier Supersonic is hands down the nicest playing and sounding guitar I’ve ever owned. Better than my vintage jaguars from the 60s to 90s
Getting back to learning guitar now and my first was a Squier Strat Pack that was so tough to learn on that I got rid of it. I’ve avoided Squier as I’ve been doing research in hopes of getting another guitar to try to learn on. Are they better than they were say 22 years ago?
Much better
I have the J5. I replaced all the hardware and honestly i will put that Telly up against any out there. It's the only one I play and still have.
Bought from OfferUp a Squier strat Standard cherry sunburst limited edition in excellent condition 6 years ago. Thinking about trading it for a bass guitar but realized the standard model has been discontinued. Now I’m not sure if I should just keep it since it will be hard to find one used online
Wjats the difference between the affinity with black Squire logo rather than the Gold Squire logo???????
I’m curious if Squier makes a left handed classic vibe mustang or not.
I love that blue Jazzmaster with the matching headstock, and rally stripe. What is it, and how do I get my hands on one?
Don’t quote me but I think they were a Japanese FSR run
I have the classic vibe 50s strat....my favorite guitar! I had a MIM strat, and I don't hear or feel much of a difference between the two. I would trust and consider another classic vibe.
Btw for the cheapest full sized guitars it's now the sonic series
I bought the contemporary tele first in white. Then bought both colors in the Stratocaster special. The blue is my fav. Just gonna add the emg pick guard to the Strats. They just need a setup and fret buff. Really good guitars after

were I in the market for an S-type gtr, I'd have a long look at the Gold model.
Interesting. However, I'm looking for an Hardtail S sereis ibby myself.
The 40th anniversary’s are very nice guitars
Squire vintage 40th anniversary edition is 👌
Sonic tele is great

What about “sonic”
Excellent review.
I just found your channel! Very cool!
Welcome, thanks for watching!
Great channel
the scariest and best squire is a modded bullet or affinity, it is the honda civic of electric guitars.
I bet that active Starcaster is a handful on stage. I have the original one and I hate it. I cannot imagine a sealed top version with some shithot pickups in it. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
It's super cool that you guys are giving away this guitar but man it's got to be one of the ugliest colors I've ever seen but kudos for
The word Jaguar isn't pronounced JAG WIRE!!!! It's JAG WAH. You must have been born in the midwusst.
It’s Jag-U-Ar.
