That is how it did mine with piece of scrap. Tack, and cool, tack and cool. Harbor Freight sell this air belt sander and I just got the 1/2” X 18” for $98. I did but a few different belts in 3M Cubitron-2. They last a long time & shocked how quick the were copied! You got one more thing to check off your list! DK, Omaha.
I am doing this as to keep the heat down in the Metal. If you let the metal get to hot then you will have warping and other issues so I always take in nice and slow so it will stay perfect.
I have to do this job so my wife doesnt fill the cab with gas......Nicely done sir.
