Have been putting off going to CPAP for 20+ years. Just got my first one last week, a ResMed 11 and am pleasantly surprised. Although I am still learning and ramping up, I am amazed how easy it is to live with and certainly hoping it will alleviated my sleep apnea problems.
I just got this and I've never been on a CPAP before the auto settings are very comfortable besides it being shoved up my nose I'm very comfortable with how it all works I heard the old ones took a lot of time to get used to and was scared that it would do the same for this but I love it
This says to replace filter every six months. When I got mine yesterday they told me every two weeks. They even gave me 6 filters for the next 3 months.
You can't replace the filter too often - and if the filters are free, why not. However, you really only need to replace the filter about every 3 months or when the filter becomes discolored. If you are in a dusty home or have pets, you'll need to replace the filter more often. Resmed officially states the filter should be replaced monthly. Resmed also states that Mask cushions should be replaced every month too - which is ridiculous (most cushions last 2 to 3 months). They tend to be conservative for liability reasons. If your insurance company is providing these replacements, by all means - use them. But many people go out of pocket and simply don't need to replace quite as often.
When is the best time put water in your humidifier chamber? Just before bed or after you rinse out air dry and put the D water? I don't like leaving that part open without the water humidifier chamber put back in.
My water chamber is dry each morning leaving me with a severe headache and my mouth glued to my palate. Tube temp is off and the humidity is at the lowest setting. The humidity in southern Arizona is often less than 6%. Any suggestions?
I just filled up to the max line maybe be a little bit below and let it do Auto humidification and never have an issue with it draining out before I wake up
I am in Mesa so understand. I have my tube temp at 4 to avoid rainout and hose temp is 76. I am a mouth breather so dry out easy but this seems to help quite a bit. Fill your tank to the max line. Maybe just give those settings a try. Good luck
I spent some time in New Mexico and had a similar issue. You may want to add a humidifier in your bedroom to increase the ambient room humidity a bit. Remember to keep the doors closed otherwise even a room humidifier may not help much.
@@martinschamberger846 That’s the very best solution. Maximize room humidity so the CPAP doesn’t struggle to do it for you. This issue is a good indicator of just how dry the Southwest really is.

I used to do a bit of camping before my need for cpap. Is there a way to operate my cpap while camping without an electric outlet? What is the dc voltage of the airsence 11?
I have a question!!questions!!! My father is using this machine but at the medium the night he need to refill the tank. I can not understand why the machine spend the hall tank in few hours.. please can you help me, maybe he need to fix something in the configuration.
If he lives somewhere dry or very dry, he may need a humidifier for the room, so the CPAP machine doesn’t need to compensate so much. Depending on his room size, and doors and windows open (in this case, probably best to not have them open when trying to improve room humidity). If he’s living in a humid climate, then there’s some other issue going on with the unit. The humidity level setting can be adjusted, but as they said here, if it’s set too high in relation to the climate of the user, that is, if the relative humidity it needs to put out is overall high, then the hose will bead up inside with water. That would be his first clue that it’s set higher than it needs to be.
Is there a way to change how much air is being pumped through? I've had it for two nights now and when the air is in full effect I'll wake up and start involuntarily exhaling through my mouth because of how strongly it's pushing air down my nose.
I had the same issue....you should lower your range. I dropped mine to 4 - 9...The idea is to have low ahi. If you are achieving that with a low range then you are set. I was at auto from 4 to 20. Way to strong.
Press both square icons on the front panel of the machine at the same time. You will enter Clinical Mode. Then you can adjust the min/max pressure range.
Dry nose and mouth may not indicate the need for a CPAP. Have a sleep study done first. If it's not sleep apnea, all you may need is a room humidifier.
The Airsense 11 is not available to retail consumers yet. All the stock is going to DME (equipment ordered by a health care providers through insurance). Even those are back-ordered. Who knows when it will be available at retail. Probably not for many months with the shortages.
