This is the most magnificent tourist site in all of muslim Turkey. It was built by Orthodox Christians between 532 and 537 AD. Its designers were Anthemos and Isidoris, two Greek mathematicians/geometers.

@@Calisthee The pictures of Jesus in the mosque, in all their glory, show the respect that Turks have for other faiths. Those pictures respond to the slanders thrown at the Turks. do you know?. Sultan Suleiman built the walls around Jerusalem. He had it written on every door: "There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the messenger of Allah". But on the door through which the Jews passed, he had it written: "There is no god but Allah, Abraham is the messenger of Allah". Why do you think he did this?.. Muslims respect human beings. No matter what religion they are, human beings are valuable because we Muslims believe that God, who cannot fit anywhere, can fit into the human heart, therefore it is a great sin to hurt the human heart.

Simply beautiful. Regardless of the fact that this was a Cathedral in the Roman Empire under emperor Justinian's rule, when Istanbul was called Constantinople and the Hagia Sophia was built as a Cathedral for the Eastern Orthodox Christians. The builders were Anthimius and Isidore. Many years later, the Ottomans stripped down many artworks of this Cathedral to cater to the Muslims. Anyways, point being lets look at it as a beautiful structure from ancient times that brings people together vs finding differences between religions. Amen and Peace ✌

@@Clenik00007 thank you for your reply. Yes, we Muslims wholeheartedly respect the Prophet Jesus, the pure Virgin Mary and the apostles. But we accept that Jesus Christ is a prophet. Could God be born from a human? Jesus is the son of Mary. God always helps us. If Jesus were God, what does it mean that he would come soon? Christians say that Jesus was a sacrifice for our sins. So why is there so much sin in the world? We Muslims believe that people are born without sin. What sin could I have committed when I wasn't born yet? And if Jesus is God, to whom was he sacrificed? By itself?
