@@vickytubbie997I use a uni signo white pen and it’s ahmazing!! White jelly roll pens are trash. Uni signo also has a gold and silver pen that’s wonderful.
~A way I avoid getting mold from the himi gouache is to never dip tap water or your paint brush inside of it!! ~Reg water holds bacteria and that’s how it gets moldy. ~ I use a painting spatula to dig out whatever paint I need and when the gouache happens to dry up from not using, ONLY use distilled water that won’t cause it to mold!!😊 I’ve had my palette for over a year now no mold! (Cause I didn’t have the time and money for that so I was trying to avoid it to the best of my abilities)
I use mist bottle with a 50/50 ratio of water and rubbing alcohol, so it prevent mold from growing in there. But maintenance can be a little annoying, since I have to reactivate the paints every week by mixing it with water :/
I’ve had such a rollercoaster with white gel pens. First I got the Sakura gelly rolls and they started off good but then they would stop working quickly. Then all the RUclipsrs said Signo white gel pens are actually better, so I got one and it was great but now the ballpoint makes a line in the middle, so I went back to my old gelly rolls and they’re better than the first time I used them!!!! What is happening 🗿🗿🗿
I'm having to use a Posco White pen, in order to at least get *something*, but even that has issues with starting and continuing. Someone just needs to invent an easy-flow white pen to rake in all of the artist Ps.
Lol. I found some Pentel Presto from my travels and that stuff... I'll need to play with more. It's very opaque, but it's chemical scented and might get clogged easily.
I’m a 47 year old illustrator, and I too HATE Poska markers. I truly do not get the love. I’m much better with a brush and acrylic paints. I’ve never been able to get quality, opaque coverage. It stays streaky. Plus, who doesn’t enjoy the meditative qualities of painting with a brush?
I was a big Copic stan for many years, but Ohuhu markers have won me over! I'm big on markers and I appreciate that Ohuhu gives you all the benefits of Copic (replaceable nibs, refillable) while also being a lot more affordable. They flow differently, Ohuhu is a little more "juicy". I also love Sakura fineliners😂, but the nibs will get a little fucky after a while especially if you're a little heavy-handed like me! I recommend the Micron PN which is the same size as the 05, but has a different nib. They last longer and don't get as messed up.
I adore microns! But I suggest you try the stiff nibbed Tombow Fudenosuke pen! They are *amazing* Also the Sakura IDenti pen! It feels really similar to a micron on the small end (0.4 mm) and gives a beautiful line :)
I have done many stippling pieces in the past with my microns and have never had that problem, so that's a moment of "huh!?" for me, because like how (I'm not defending microns either, I'm just baffled)
Ah those white gelly pens 100% deserve to burn in hell forever. I bought 3 of them and still think I lost my money 😮 don't understand the hype with them
i can still smell the buncho pastels fr i was so impressed seeing classmates blend them so well i never thought about blending back then it was like the first time i found out how coloring is supposed to look like LMAO
Somehow you remind me of Mei Hatsume from MHA...💀 But also, every white gel pen that people love, I HATE. They never deliver as promised. Honestly, WHITE-OUT is probably a better alternative than all those white gel pens with their translucent selves😭 white paint is definitely best.
I stick to very specific brands myself, I never listened to a lot of the trendy youtube\tiktok supply. I have a service where I restore art, because a lot of annoying people sell art using NON-ARCHIVAL cheap supplies and it fades on the customer within a year. So I use lightfast supplies, I typically don't care what people enjoy and like using when it's a hobby but artists that use non-archival materials selling art are scamming their customers. My supply list is: Caran D'ache Luminance colour pencils, Mijello pure pigment watercolours, Daniel Smith(for cobalt blue mijello doesn't have many good blues), Nicker Poster Colour(when I do large prints for a commission, I give the original also but I tell them it must be stored out of the light), and Holbein Gouache.
I hate the sakura micron pens for the exact same reason omg, I hate them so much 😭 I like the copic liners, even though I don't use the markers And I returned my jelly roll white pen the day after I bought it, it was so bad 🥲 I'm gonna try that pentel touch pen though! they look like fun!
ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH THE CARAN D’ACHE CRAYONS AND THE KOI WATERCOLOURS🙌🙌🙌 The koi watercolours are just so over priced and they ain’t even light fast, but the crayons are just so fun to work with! I’m creating a big ass painting with them and they are amazing!
I absolutely love crayola crayons, I honestly think they are the superior crayon. Crayola makes some pretty good products for being cheap and affordable especially crayons. Craz-art I hat craz-art crayons, they always break and are way too waxy. Crayola crayons actually don't break that easy, you were probably holding them wrong if they broke easy for you, you should hold them from the base, your hand closer to the paper, and also leaving the wrapping paper on the crayons helps keep them from breaking aswell. I've used and abused these things, and they very rearely break, and because they are so afforable I don't have to feel so anxious about wasting. Other cool things you can do with crayola crayons is you can mix them with paint, or ink to achieve different textures and values. They can be messy, but I wouldn't say they are more or less messy than
Can I ask u a quick question? Imma ask anyway, do u watch anime? If u do, which is ur fav and ur fav character in that anime? Mines demon slayer and my fav character is inosuke!

The Sakura watercolors are a guilty pleasure for me. I’ve had the small set for years and enjoy using them for touches of color in my sketch book. I can’t justify the price for them though at my local art store 🥲
I hope you get an influx of people wanting to send their most hated art supply your way (I agree with @nooders 10,000,000% Sakura Koi watercolours are grainy and lame)
The only bad experience I had are those cheap oil paints from Royal and Langnickel from my painting class' free supplies corner... They had a revolting odor that I gagged quickly and had to take a quick sniff of my other paints to get that smell out of my nose! X ▵ X It was the same corner when I found loose Conté crayons and loved that it it's still in my house ; 𓎟 ;
