I moved to Finland 1.5hr from Canada and dont know the language. I really appreciate you speaking English in your videos. Subscribed. Hopefully run into you on the trails someday. Cheers.
Ok, nice to hear! I have one Canadian and one Canadian-Finnish friend :) And thank you for the feedback about my english! It is still on the so called rally-english, but I have noticed some development even by myself. Hopefully my english is somehow fluent some day... I think I am going to participate in MTB events also in the next season, let me know if you are going to some event and maybe we can meet :) By the way in this season there is one more event, where I am going to participate. It's called Halloween Hike and it will be arranged in Central Finland, Keuruu in the end of this month. Here is a link to the event (unfortunately just in Finnish): www.halloweenhike.fi/p/halloween-hike-2023-tapahtumakutsu.html and here is a link to the video I did of that event last year: ruclips.net/video/lhR_hnTRfXU/видео.html
I think this year narrow tires with high tread pattern was the way to go, having grip in the mud and not collecting the mud between the frame and wheel. It was also my first Tahko MTB or any MTB race infact, and really liked it! Weather was not too hot for sure ;). Also suffered cramps just before El Grande so had to take a short brake which helped. The salt is usually just for the mind (and you take the brake at the same time!). Thanks for the video!
Thank you! Currently I am working on my basic endurance, which seems to be my biggest problem. I have also started regular strength training. On the next season we will see, if there has been any progress. After that, I need to reconsider my focus. But before the next official season, there will be a winter race on 24.2.2024 in Ähtäri where I am going to participate. The video from the year 2023 is here: ruclips.net/video/OQj9ABvp1Xw/видео.html After all, my biggest goal is to be one of the finishers in the 60 years series in 16 years, so I have plenty of time to improve myself :D
The frame is Trek Fuel EX 9.8 and the other parts are some leftover parts. Rims are aluminum, fork is Cane Creek Helm MK2, and the shock is RockShox Deluxe. I am currently replacing this bike to more XC-type bike. My new bike is going to be Canyon Lux CF7. I'll publish a video of it when I get it and have enough time to shoot and edit it.
If you want to see full route, please check this 4,5 hours full version :) ruclips.net/video/rEMQZV3twUA/видео.html

Kiitos palautteesta! Kyllä näitä tuolla putkessa on tulossa pikkuhiljaa...

What was your time? Are you going 2024? At least I am going :)
Did the 48km in under 3:10 and was happy with the performance other than the cramps... For 2024 need to decide between 48 and 60 or maybe even 120k???
That was really good time. 2024 you should ride at least 60 km! I have also had thoughts about 120 km, but not 2024. Maybe later…
@@activelifeinfinland You did also very well in the 60! 120k requires stamina, have to do many long rides when training for it. So it takes time...
