    Great video, you get the bike that the designer wanted before the Eurocrats stepped in.

    I agree this bike isn’t perfect but it’s a great one out of the box. I can hear the excitement in your voice after this tune which is awesome! Congrats, you get to fall in love with it all over again.

      It is a big difference, just remember to remove the foam from the snorkel when re-installing the ECU (y)

      Hi how was your bike after the ecu flash ? How much did it cost please? Many thanks

    • @SPRIDER
      @SPRIDER 3 года назад

      @@scuddy100HYA i paid around £450 I can feel the bike responds very well in low rpm but bellow 3000rpm rpm it's still snatching after 6000 rpm it's the same as before then I put the orignal exhaust back on. now was way smoother

    Great video man.
    I love the S1000R by the way, bloody savage bike!
    You're after tempting me now to Give Gary a shout... he'd probably do miracles with the MT!
    I might drop him an email, obviously once the restrictions are lifted I might call up!
    I've got a full akra system, no cat in the pipe and I've thrown a DNA air filter in there too. I flashed it myself with a Flashtune ecu kit but I reckon Gary's the man to actually make real changes.
    You can hear the delight in your voice after the re-tune it's easy to tell you're not bullshitting!

      You're welcome to a shot of it should we ever cross paths 👍
      Highly recommend dropping Gary an email to find out what he can do to the MT, IIRC he's had a 7 on the dyno already

    I had my ecu sent to Gary earlier this year for s1000r 2016 but as yet haven't been out due to virus so watching your vid is making me want to get out on it, I know yours is later bike but Gary sent me a graph and was showing 172bhp so I'm not sure how yours is just 162bhp anyway great vid thanks.

      Thanks Steven, as for the power I'd hazard a guess it's due to your bike being Euro 3 and not as restricted as mine? Gary did mention we'd see bigger numbers with a full system & more free flowing air filter (and I may still go that route) but we thought it best to base the tune on a stock bike so the resulting map would suit other people's S1000R's

    How would this affect your insurance or not?

    • @TrooperTed
      @TrooperTed  3 года назад +1

      Depends completely on how your insurance company view it. Some may charge extra as they'll see it as a performance mod, others may not as the overall power gains are not drastic, but it's up to you to disclose it as you cannot tell the map has been altered from simply connecting the ECU to diagnostic equipment. Hope that helps 👍

    How many hp after flash?

    • @TrooperTed
      @TrooperTed  4 года назад +1

      From 159 (at the wheel) to 162. As discussed in the video, no big gains up top, but for example at 40% throttle, power delivery has gone from 40bhp to almost 60bhp, which is massive and if we're all honest with ourselves, mid range is where we spend most of our time, on the road anyway
