Nopes cinematography was so fucking good, the first time I watched it in imax I was legit leaning out of my seat to get a better look at Jean Jacket😂
I also think it had the best scare of the year, but for me it’s the barn fakeout scare that scene had the hairs on the back of my head raised. When Jordan Peele wants to go full blown horror he never fails to scare the living shit out of me, he really is a genius behind that camera.
That scene was funny and scary, great balance

Pearl was so slow we bailed. 20 min after scarecrow. Well try again later. Smile was ok, disturbing, but not memorable except for the shocking opening. Will rewatch later. Bones & all. Is on watch list. Thanks 4 this great content. Happy we found this podcast. Movies r the best.

You know.. I respect anyone's opinions on what they like or didn't like.
But I *wish* I got more out of "Nope".
I saw it in Imax, I was super hyped to see it, loved Peele's previous films, and I left the theater wondering what I'd just watched.
And not in a good, like, psychologically mind-blowing "Wow! What was that?!" Kind of way. . but in a much more grounded, "Why does this movie exist?" kind of way. Towards the end, I was fighting to keep my eyes open, and unfortunately, I just got absolutely nothing out of this movie. It blows me away how much great feedback it got, because I'm not usually totally in the minority when it comes to movie opinions, but.. I just didn't get this one.
I'm trying to convince myself to watch it again, knowing what to expect, having done all the research into what went into it, and all that good stuff. but, I'm struggling to feel the want to watch it again.
Anyways, great episode, love horror movies, I think this was a pretty solid year for it, and the horizon of horror looks pretty good for 2023 as well.
Totally get where you’re coming from, no worries if you weren’t a fan of it!
Appreciated, I'll probably watch it again at some point, it drives me crazy that I'm not grasping at least what other people are seeing >_

And one brutally honest opinion about the movie men. I didn't have a issue with it not trying to be a simp here . But honestly I can only speak for my self as a black man the older I got the more shitter I realize alot of guys are .. like once you get to truly know alot of guys they are horrible. These manosphere podcast like Kevin samuels and Andrew Tate have ruined alot of my male friends and family. Like I can only count on one hand the guys I trust . The ones I truly know it's alarming . I can't speak for other men tho and they experiences just mine. like it's down really vile ass dudes out here once you get to really know them and they beliefs .

The entire Scream franchise is hot garbage. Ghost mask & outfit is so stupid. Scary movie is way better.
Terrifier & Terrifier 2 are garbage. The fx are terrible , it's dumb , not scary at all. Movies like TCM. , High tension, Hereditary, Hellraiser, Evil dead, Martyrs(original), barbarian, slither, Pet semitary, the dark half, the thing, misery, Hannibal, are far superior to Terrifier & Terrifier 2.
