Its good to test an IGBT, but you cant transfer 5A or 10A! or the IGBT will burn after Overheating, specialy if you have 60V input and 12V output!!! 60-12=48V , 48V*10A= 480Watt that means you produce 480Watt Heat in a 290Watt IGBT, and the Consumer get just 12V*10A = 120Watt :D
Use a PWM circuit as a driver for IGBT, Mosfet, SCR ...
Which MOSFET is good for 12 volt 4amp regulator.
Do you know what is 50A. Your wires is thin. Your device is working but if you work it long time wires will burn.
Use a thick gauge wire if you are drawing high amps from the circuit
Obviously,thick cables are needed for high currents. .You need a large radiator with a fan .These are illustrative films. He makes good projects. I"live already made 4 of this channel and they all work. I thank him for this

why you added a diode at the output, if we don't add this, it'll still be working same then what is the reason for using a 6a diode
The circuit will work without the diode at the output but the diode reduce spikes
