What's up creatives! Posted a photo earlier in the week teasing this levitation photography effect - so here's the tutorial breakdown! Gotta try at speeding these tutorial-style videos up, but hopefully it does a good job at breaking down the process so you guys can attempt it yourselves. Sorry that the sound goes a tad shonky around the 6 minute mark (only for about 15 seconds or so) I actually edited a lot of this video on a flight, as I'm in LA for work for a week now. I didn't want to delay this going live so hopefully it's not too bad! Enjoy dudes 📸
This isn't how he does his shots though. What I believe he's doing is placing the letters on a rack(like the ones you get with scrabble) and getting someone out of camera bottom to throw them up as he shoots the shot. If you use this method you'll see that the letters stay together in the air long enough for the effect to work. Give it a try.
Thanks man, hopefully you enjoyed! Totally get that this isn't how David does it, I'm inclined to believe his #NoPhotoshop thing haha. I actually think it's something to do with printing, I read a comment on his posts about how he does it. I just think the route you describe wouldn't get consistent results?
The results are surprisingly consistent. It might take 5/6 tries and you have your shot, you might even get it first go with practice. I've seen people construct small wooden racks to hold them on. My best/worst way to describe this would be, if you've ever seen someone jump on a trampoline covered in leaves, you see the trampoline drop away but the leaves stay in the same place for a certain amount of time, it's basically the opposite of that.
@@TomRichOld Thanks bro, my IG is constantly evolving and progressing! So keep your eyes peeled on whats next. Its absolutely true otherwise i would not use the #NoPhotoshop
4:40 what i usually do is select the subject (The tiles) select inverse, and the brush will only affect the selected portion (everything except the tiles) just a suggestion :)
The no photoshop way involves getting all the letters lined up using a block (the tile racks you get in the scrabble game itself would probably work, though if you make one in a u-shape with the tiles in the middle it would be better) and having someone throw them up. The letters stay somewhat uniform when going up but split apart quite fast as they slow and start to fall.
Hey! Thanks for watching I hope you enjoyed 🤙🏻 I know, I mentioned it in the pinned comment, I didn't spot it because I was editing on a plane (facepalm) but I decided to post anyway because I won't be able to fix it and re-upload now for a few days!
It works really well, I only have 2 questions, is the sharpness in the first photo set manually? And you took pictures with the timer? Or do you need someone else? Thanks for answer... and sorry for english grammer:))
Totally! Don't understand how some people can claim this type of thing isn't photoshopped. It's either PS or there's some kind of trick. Otherwise it's 1/1,000,000. Thanks for watching!

Hahahaha that's a good description! Thanks for breaking it down, I'll give it a try and maybe make a follow up video 😁
#NoPhotoshop is used to create images like this! Keep up the good work G
Thanks for stopping by bruh! Love the IG feed✌🏻 Blows my mind how you can do this without Photoshop, if that's true that is haha!

Good Video!! There is an easier way, just use the Selection Brush tool and select the tiles with the tool , I'll make a video about it :)
Yep, though often find the selection tool can give unrealistic results and doesn't always work!
Love this tutorial
Peter Albanese Thank you Peter! Really glad you enjoyed it 🤙🏻
How can you get that blurry atmospheric background with a camera that only goes down to 4.5?
Great video!! Theres a problem with the audio around 6:00

Hi sorry! Yes manual focus and used the camera timer :)
@@TomRichOld I think the most important factor is to adjust the angle in the first photo, thanks for answer...
özgür akşakar no problem I'm glad it helped! Lots more vids like this planned this year!
Simply superbbbb, hay tom this cmnt is from pakistan❤.
Just what I've been looking for..Fantastic video
Thanks Daniel, really glad it helped!
Thank you!
Reckon you could do this with transparent wire? Like fishing line or something? Don’t have photoshop 😑
gracias
what settings did you use?
What camera settings? Low F/stop is really the only requirement! Other than that just correctly expose (lighten) your image :)
At least you admit it’s photoshopped and explain it. Good job.
