When your husband said “let’s just give her a second” I cried! Coz he knew his baby needed to breathe and everyone was just pressing down on u! That was so sweet
They should not have had you pushing “to bring baby down” way to go hubby for telling her to give you a second.

Congrats Sanny!!! You did amazing listening to your body and honestly S/O to Kurtis as well I started to tear up when he started to advocate for you. “Just give her a minute please” that support is so so necessary as the nurses can sometimes be on auto pilot mode.

The issue is a lot of nurses and doctors believe POC women feel no pain. Which is why it’s important to have someone speak up for you! 💙
I love how your husband being your advocate! This is what I want during my delivery but my kids dad always sleep the entire time 😩
😢 I feel the same they just don’t know how much it’s needed to feel supported in those moments I get very bad postpartum depression every time

Yeah, about that: 9.5!? First of all that’s amazing, but I didn’t think they’d give you an epidural pass 6-7cm?! 😮 I’ve seen numerous blogs where they said it was too late. I know every situation is unique, but please weigh in if you’ll please.

I did a birthing class to prepare so although I was in labor for approximately 36 hrs due to having irregular contractions and slow dilation I was able to manage it pretty ok with the resources I had. I used my birthing ball and all the techniques I was taught, no pain meds were available to me at the time
I played my labor and delivery playlist when I was moved to the labor and delivery ward after dilating to 8cm....I live in Barbados btw

I just came from a vlog where a lady was screaming bloody murder and it absolutely terrified me. So, this was a little more comforting to see. Props to her and props to you but I really needed to see someone not screaming. Congratulations on your baby!

I’m surprised they gave the epidural at 9.5 cm dilated. Both of my pregnancies were induced and expecting third one. This pitocin is no joke. I called my anesthesiologist in for another shot of epidural because I was feeling the pain getting stronger but later to find out baby was already coming. Congratulations on your bundle of joy. 🎉

I got induced with my son no epidural it was really painful tbh ..... I mean no brakes in-between contractions... I couldn't even lift my legs in the push position when it was time... But I managed and I gave birth to a baby weighing 4.30kg that's almost 10 lbs ....

Congrats hun!!!! The things we go through as women…This remind me of my labour only difference I got to the hospital 2am and had him by 4am…but when they checked me I was 9.5cm and I couldn’t get the epidural 🤦🏽♀️

When I got induced, my labor was a minute and 50 seconds long and two minutes apart so I had 10 seconds to take a break and it came on fast and hard so needless to say I got an epidural and it saved me made the rest of the pregnancy delivery birth, so much more manageable. Congratulations you did a great job.
My c-section is scheduled for October 18th 2022

I actually was induced and my experience was way different my pain level was like a 2 the whole time I got an epidural because I didn't want to miss out but I waited a long time before I even asked for one. My delivery was great.

I’ve had two spontaneous labours and I’ve been induced once. I will tell you based on my experience spontaneous labours we’re ten times more painful. Listen especially with my second born I thought I was going to die the pain was so intense. With the induction I was so relaxed, the pain was intense but I was coping so well. Them spontaneous contractions took me outttt. You are extremely strong for making it to 9.5 without anything, I wish Canada and the USA would give women gas and air I think you would have been able to go without epidural if you had the gas and air taking that edge off. In the U.K. they won’t give you an epidural when you’ve passed a certain level dilated.
