Guys, guys, SAVE SAVE SAVE. Don’t blow off half your check at the mall, get a nice car, that’s what I’m struggling with right now, I worked at McDonald’s for 6 months. Made $1,500 I know that’s not anything but I walked out with nothing in the bank I regret it.
I'm 16 and I really want to get a job, but I get so nervous thinking about every little detail. What if I'm really bad at it? What if there is an interview and I have no idea what to say and make a fool out of my self? What if I'm late because my parents can't take me at every given moment, especially last minute things. Yikes it just makes me extremely nervous just to think about.
You’re 16 quit being a spoiled brat your parents don’t have to drive you everywhere I’m 13 and ever since I was 11 I’ve been riding my bike to school and oh yeah it’s mile (45 mins)

I’m scared that I’m not good at anything like if I was a waiter I would job plates if I was a barista I would mess up orders if I worked in a deli I’d be too slow
Everyone does those things to be honest. I was a dishwasher my last job and we broke a lot of shit. My coworker even broke the elevator once. After you work for a while you don't really care too much when something like that happens
Be ready to make mistakes..it is almost impossible to get a job and not make one mistake..besides mistakes are actually a good thing the more mistakes you make the more chance you have at become better at a thing. Mistakes are just a way to teach you what not to do again and how to do things better :)
When I became a waiter everyone was super sweet and the chef taught me how to hold plates properly, it’s not too hard to learn you just have to trust yourself Xx

I worked as a host at a restaurant that was all on water. It was a really nice job because of the environment but definitely not for teenagers. We were worked like dogs and we didn’t get breaks. Since we were on the water, half of the restaurant was connected to the outside with no air conditioning and that was were the host stand was. We weren’t allowed to get breaks nor where we allowed to sit and we’d basically have to fake needing to use the restroom just to relieve our feet from the pressure of standing for four to eight hours straight. The restaurant became really busy at night and weekends, there wasn’t a time that we didn’t have at least one of the three seating areas filled with people because there were three different places people where coming from. The marina, their boats and then people passing by the town/towns folks. I loved the job, don’t get me wrong but we never got breaks and I almost passed out once and my boss said that I still couldn’t leave because we were busy and it was only a couple minutes before I was scheduled to leave. They also had this ridiculous rule that we couldn’t leave unless our managers told us too, so if we were scheduled to leave at 1 PM we probably won’t leave until 8 PM. They also had key cards that were connected to our clock in tablets so we couldn’t be able to clock out without the manager being there to swipe the card and put in their password so that we could put in our password and clock out to leave
If you love it, then you can tolerate the things you had to go through. I can really only love a job if I’m self employed or just working with a small team.
recently graduated from high school, i took the physical labor view. i work in demolition and make 25/hr, target when im off and i have an apprenticeship in construction so im busy working 7 days a week and averages 56 hr/week. sounds hard but not really if you dont think of it as one, i see it as a learning experience and genuinely listen to my bosses and never question/get hostile like you treat me and i treat you kind of way. Back when I was a junior in high school the most i made was 36/hr when i was laying down concrete on the highways on graveyard hours. That was the heaviest job and ended up making me choose work over my girlfriend until she finally broke up with me. sometimes i wish i could just go back and take some hours off to spend time with her but hey, thats life and it threw a mean righthook at me and its my time to get back up.
It's a story as old as time, don't blame yourself, many woman don't understand what it takes to get them that new ring, or take them to that cool place. The my hands look like this so hers can look like this meme but unironic. That's the burden we bare as men, funny how it's never brought up when people cry about gender roles. Almost like as a man you're expecting to work until you die and like it. How'd you get your start with demolition and construction in general? I'm looking to do the same for a while to support my parents.
Same ive got a buddy in construction and logging but i need to know how to get in first because idk if there is a job like that for me to do, making 36/hr would be amazing and im pretty athletic too as in lifting and running and stuff.
Hey man , I’m 16 and if I’m honest I’m pretty stuck. I don’t know what I wanna do with my future and it’s starting to make me depressed ! Is there any way you can help me on what to choose or on how to make the decision
19 year old here. Take your time to figure it out. Don’t go to college or get in student loan dept without knowing what you want. And unless what you want to do requires college, like being a doctor, engineer, nurse, ... etc you don’t have to go to college to be successful. I graduated high school 2 months after turning 17. I panicked and didn’t know what to do. Take a year off
I’m 16, gonna be 17. I’m nervous about working. I’m spoiled and I’m terrified about the real world I feel terrible about it because I don’t wanna not have a good life in the future
I’m about to turn 16. I don’t want to be a loser, I want to be mature and provide something. But I don’t want to sit in a fast food place or as a desk guy.
Cheers for the Video clip! Forgive me for butting in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you heard about - Foonlarvis Driver Domination (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is a good exclusive guide for getting paid to drive without the headache. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my good mate called Gray finally got excellent success with it.
Can you work at McDonald's at 14? Thought it was 16 minimum age? Why not do something like a neighborhood meal business, set it up with your parents and make a whole lot more than working at McD's.
It’s sucks because I’m 17, in college (leave high school at 16 in uk) and I gotta get a part time job because I can’t borrow as much money from my mum as I used to. I’m very socially awkward so I honestly have no idea what to do, but I need the money for travel, notepads and stuff like that
I worked at a Christian summer camp over the summer and the pay wasn’t great and it was exhausting some days, but it was fun. I’m homeschooling this year and I cannot find a job to work during the day after I finish school.
after reading these comments i think we all can agree on one thing...we do not know what the future has instore for us and do not want to work those 9-5 typical jobs and as a teen thats about all you can do but whats even harder is the thought of what to get into. see ive taken a year off and ive worked 2 jobs in that time and i have to say i still dont know what to do. i turn 19 in about 2 weeks and still have not decided what to do with my self. ive thought from a welder to a coder to a accountant basically a lot of normal things but dont wanna rush into college or a degree that i payed for and just hate everything about life lol but im very thankful i even have the option to consider these things thanks to my parents. and yeah tbh it makes me sad to see my parents work and pay for everything so often time i beat my self up for it but dont know what to do. im stuck in this constant loop of "oh thats cool" then not wanting to do that one or dont know if that ones right for me. but im sure we will all find something :)
Literally the same issue with me. I tried working as a dishwasher at a restaurant I enjoyed it honestly but the job is very demanding in terms of moving fast fast and I just felt it wasn't for me. Same with being a hostess at another restaurant it was a simple job but just felt like I could get something better. And here I am on April unemployed still at 18 I turn 19 in two months. I already know what I wanna do. Study in Spain for my Sports Management degree and become a sports agent or team scout for a football(Soccer) team. Hopefully you've realized what you wanna do with your life my friend GL.

I worked at a sonic and it was so bad my parents forced me to quit. They worked me almost everyday almost 12 hours on some days with 30 minute breaks. working like crazy and in the busiest season for sonic
I had a classmate of mine back in highschool, she also did sonic the labor was short staffed and pay was terribly low. She put in her 2 weeks and left. I always recommend look at reviews both positive and negative. Research the company best you can before you interview.

Im thinking about working at Walgreens right across the street from where i live. The employees said that i might get $600 per month, which is good sense im gonna be moving in with my dad in about 6 to 7 months. And besides, the employees said that the manager is one of the nicest people to work with.
I’m 16 at my I work at a factory. It’s basically 8 hours standing doing the same thing, it’s just plain torture and I really regret getting a job at a factory...
In Texas, it’s legal to get a job at 14 and I really want to. Problem is, I don’t know what kind of job to get. And I don’t know which ones will hire a freshman in high school :/
You're right, generally going to be tough getting a decent job at 14 (other than washing dishes). Great opportunity though to start on some of the longer-term online assets like here ruclips.net/video/dJl_yuRmM0s/видео.html
I'm going to turn 16 in july and my dad said he's gonna apply me in commissary and I'll work as a bagger but, I'm shy and I get a little scared specially I'm a antisocial guy and Idk if I'm gonna do fine or messed up the customer will yell at me 🙁 I wish there's a job where I don't do a lot of communications *sigh*
I would do the first one but both sites you mentioned require you to be a minimum age of 18 years to create an account and I feel that lying might be a bad idea when it comes to a site that deals with money but on the other hand the restriction likely only exists for legal reasons and they may not make any legitimate effort to enforce this rule beyond the user stating that they are of age
I grew up in southern OH, Meigs Co. I was working when I was 10-11 years old weeding flower beds while my grandfather was mowing lawns. Later when I was 15 years old I was working for the Son of that same woman he had a tomato farm (when tomatoes actually tasted good before the hybrids which are pretty to look at but are sorta tasteless) near my house. Because all the other workers at that farm got fired I became the farm foreman and when packing season came my mother worked for me. It was sorta strange to be mom’s boss.
What I’m doing and what my dad and brothers used to do is mow yards and wash cars all day. Back in the 80s and 70s he got 100 bucks a day. Now I can get like $150 A DAY
Those "friends" you have won’t be there when you’re 16-17 trust me bro. Don’t waste your time on them. Let them get a job and pay shit for themselves. Remember you are your own man.
I'm 17 I've been working at McDonald's for almost 6 months now I've mainly been just cleaning the lobby up (bc of covid) and that's fine with me but I HATE it when they ask me to do front counter bc they never showed me how to do everything but get mad at me for messing up I just set up direct deposit so I'll make some of my money back from other stuff before I finally let go but I want something that pays good and is fun to do at the same time when balanced right
there are a lot of negative people in these comments attacking people that have genuine questions. if you're one of those people with a question, know that your questions are valid and it's okay to ask them. if you're one of the people being rude and negative to those asking questions, please remember that you dont know everyones situation and not everyone has a life like yours. everyone is different and theres no need to be rude to sometimes trying to take their first step.
I’m 16 and I’ve had a job for 9 months, but our management has become poor and our new employees are not being trained. It’s really hard to manage school and work, so I’m trying to find a relaxed job ://
I’m currently working my first job at a pizza place and I hate it lol. The management sucks, I barely have time to eat during my lunch break, and all of the other coworkers take long breaks while I get 0 breaks. Not only that but the manager expects me to know literally everything even though I’ve only been there like 4 days and she’s been there for years. Hoping for better work lol.
That’s exactly how I was treated when I worked at a pizza place as my 2nd ever job. I quit a few months ago and I’m just over the 9-5 idea, looking into doing my passion, and doing a freelance photography and videography gig.
In 15 and started to work as a waiter on week ends since I've only worked 2 weeks or 4 days but i despise my job it sucks I'm wearing a ankle brace my mom had becuase my left ankle is screwed from just working 4 days with a week apart

Tough job. Hope you got paid well.
Let's Talk Money! with Joseph Hogue, CFA It didn’t (it payed $2.50 an hour but tip share was added in) but I loved the job and it was my first
If you love it, then you can tolerate the things you had to go through.
36/hr is incredible
Hey man , I’m 16 and if I’m honest I’m pretty stuck. I don’t know what I wanna do with my future and it’s starting to make me depressed ! Is there any way you can help me on what to choose or on how to make the decision

19 year old here. Take your time to figure it out. Don’t go to college or get in student loan dept without knowing what you want. And unless what you want to do requires college, like being a doctor, engineer, nurse, ... etc you don’t have to go to college to be successful. I graduated high school 2 months after turning 17.

I’m very socially awkward so I honestly have no idea what to do, but I need the money for travel, notepads and stuff like that
2 years later.... are you still in college?

I worked at a Christian summer camp over the summer and the pay wasn’t great and it was exhausting some days, but it was fun. I’m homeschooling this year and I cannot find a job to work during the day after I finish school.
I’m in the same boat, homeschooled, but I have no idea how I’m going to manage time for anything.
14 and am looking at jobs so I can be prepared
after reading these comments i think we all can agree on one thing...we do not know what the future has instore for us and do not want to work those 9-5 typical jobs and as a teen thats about all you can do but whats even harder is the thought of what to get into. see ive taken a year off and ive worked 2 jobs in that time and i have to say i still dont know what to do. i turn 19 in about 2 weeks and still have not decided what to do with my self. ive thought from a welder to a coder to a accountant basically a lot of normal things but dont wanna rush into college or a degree that i payed for and just hate everything about life lol but im very thankful i even have the option to consider these things thanks to my parents. and yeah tbh it makes me sad to see my parents work and pay for everything so often time i beat my self up for it but dont know what to do. im stuck in this constant loop of "oh thats cool" then not wanting to do that one or dont know if that ones right for me. but im sure we will all find something :)

Yeah, hated my jobs in fast food and restaurants weren't much better.
I had a classmate of mine back in highschool, she also did sonic the labor was short staffed and pay was terribly low. She put in her 2 weeks and left. I always recommend look at reviews both positive and negative. Research the company best you can before you interview.

Focus when you have to put your costumers things away
Be quick but smooth with it
I would do the first one but both sites you mentioned require you to be a minimum age of 18 years to create an account and I feel that lying might be a bad idea when it comes to a site that deals with money but on the other hand the restriction likely only exists for legal reasons and they may not make any legitimate effort to enforce this rule beyond the user stating that they are of age
Great video, but I have one major criticism. The chance of success for a lot of these are very low. Also, many of these jobs are very skill based
What I’m doing and what my dad and brothers used to do is mow yards and wash cars all day. Back in the 80s and 70s he got 100 bucks a day. Now I can get like $150 A DAY

there are a lot of negative people in these comments attacking people that have genuine questions. if you're one of those people with a question, know that your questions are valid and it's okay to ask them. if you're one of the people being rude and negative to those asking questions, please remember that you dont know everyones situation and not everyone has a life like yours. everyone is different and theres no need to be rude to sometimes trying to take their first step.
