- One of my most favourite songs. I recently found a version of this song on a Chinese forum that seems to be studio-recorded, and not some rip from a 10 year-old concert. Thought I'd spread the wealth around. :D
Tiān Lù (lit. Heavenly Road) was composed by 印青 (1954 - ), who sought to invoke imagery of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. It has fast become one of China's most popular patriotic songs. There are numerous versions, but this version is sung by the talented 阿兰·达瓦卓玛 (Ālán Dáwǎzhuómǎ), an ethnic Tibetan-Chinese artist of Japanese fame. All I have done is uploaded this standalone masterpiece onto RUclips with added graphics and HD (Edit: A minor click has also been smoothed out).
I hope this sufficiently compensates for my (yet again) nearly a year-long hiatus. If it doesn't, well that's a sad day for you; it's 4am and I've just spent 5 hours lurking through hundreds of pages of Chinese websites to find a decent version of this bloody song. Go eat a kartoffelsalat for all I care (das ist vitamin!!). Cheers, everyone! :D

When my spirit is low, I always turn on this song and I feel my spirit lifted.
Through this song, i can feel that the Chinese people have spent a lot of effort to build this railway to connect the traffic between one region and another in order to facilitate the travel of people in the Qinghai-Tibet region. I love it, love from usa🇺🇸🤝🇨🇳
I lived it China for several years and unfortunately because of family affairs, I had to return to Germany. This song is in my heart and I listen to it regularly. But my heart breaks not to be in China. The deep cultural connection is so strong. Even for me it is impossible to let go. I so very much miss China, you cannot imagine. This song is some expression about my feelings

Dalton K Living there is wonderful. People are so friendly and take you to so many places. You get invited from friends and colleagues to KTV, or dinner and it’s always fun, because everyone is very respectful to each other and we always have good time. Food, you can get whatever you want. I like Chinese food very much, but if you want to get things, which you miss from home, you can get just anything from Walmart or special foreign shops. China has become very clean, especially in the cities. People take care and everywhere are trash cans for recycling separating. You also can find restaurants from other countries, but like German or Italien restaurant, they are quite expensive. Usually I prefer little noodle kitchens, streetfood style, they make the best Chinese food and it’s really not expensive. China is wonderful. And for living, you can rent apartments, which are very luxury with integrated AC or to cheap basic. Whatever you prefer all between is possible. Depends how much you want to spend and where you live. Of course apartments in center of Shanghai or Shenzhen can be quite expensive, but in Suzhou Medical and Technology development center, very luxury apartments are not very expensive and affordable. Depends. Basic food for self cooking, like meet, fish, or vegetables is always very fresh and good quality, as most Chinese families buy daily there food for cooking.

I believe this beautiful song was composed to glorify the Qinghai Railway from China to Lhasa Tibet. Its also my wish list to get on that train.
You can totally hear the folk music style when she hits those notes, and when she does a slight break in her voice, kind of like yodelling. its so cool.

Notes:
天路 [tiān lù ] (The Road to Heaven, also translated as Heavenly Road) in the song refers to Qinghai-Tibet railway 青藏铁路 [qīng zàng tiě lù]. The length of the railway is 1,956 km. The construction of the railway was part of the China Western Development strategy, an attempt to develop the western provinces of China, which are much less developed than eastern China. The railway is considered one of the greatest feats in modern Chinese history.
The construction of the most difficult section (from Golmud to Lhasa, with elevation up to 5,072 m above sea level at the highest point, Tanggula Pass) was started in 2001, and the entire line was completed and opened to services in 2006. In 2008, it's said that the railway will further be extended with additional six lines and were expected to be in operation before 2020. Construction work of the Lhasa-Shigatse extension began in September 2010 and was opened in August 2014. There are also thorough discussions to further expand the railway to reach Nepal with completion targeted by 2020. A further possible expansion will be linking the railway to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
