I watched the documentary on how GGG started and their journey so far last night and I can't say how pleased I am to see the hype for POE 2 this must be so huge for Mark, Chris and Jonathon especially after starting this project as school leavers all those years ago, the passion from them in every video as well is infectious, they deserve all the success coming to them with POE 2.

If they could ever learn anything I’m sure that would be very useful for them.
The point when they were talking about difficulty I think they did a great job making changes that help you get to the level to beat what you are stuck on instead of just making shit easier. There will always be people that are just awful and ask for them to make the game super easy because they are simply bad. I personally would rather the game be pretty difficult and attention absorbant than bullshit easy. And I'm happy to hear that poe2 will be easier to comprehend as well I only play games blind and try not to ruin my fun by watching others play and poe1 wasn't something I could get that far into without thinking that I'll never completely understand what I'm doing.

I think one of the biggest things in PoE2 that will feel like a massive evolution for the genre is going to be moving while attacking. PoE, D4, and LE I feel like will feel horrible after playing PoE2 simply due to that feature alone.
Yeah I hope every ARPG after PoE2 will have moving while attacking. I can't wait to use WASD movement. It's my biggest gripe with every single ARPG I play.
@TheAwkwardGuy WASD is one thing D4 has over other ARPGs. I swapped to it a few months ago and it's so useful.

i actually expect the vast majority of people on day 1 will be fully gaming within 3 or 4 hours at most. outside of weird driver/softwar/hardware type issues thatll take more specific fixes. GGG is kinda unique in that they have had more experience with "launch day" over inflated player numbers, than basically any other company. theyve done it every 3 or 4 months for years. there have been issues in the past, some worse than others. but they have a lot of experience with this. not only that, they also have a very good idea just how many people are going to be showing up since its a buy in.
Maybe. They do have experience but they have not been able to stresstest poe 2 in real conditions yet. If they did some important changes in the networking or databases systems it could have unforeseen consequences. Plus they are going to get A LOT of players and they are only getting a clear idea how on many about 2 weeks in advance, it's not much if you need to optimize some code or improve your architecture. Hoping you are right though
Another thing is also the recommended specs, 16g RAM, RTX 2060 or equivalent, an i5 10 series or equivalent.
For the graphic fidelity, those are fairly low specs for a modern game. It probably has to do with how the fixed isometric view allows for very selective rendering, since you pretty much only have to render what's on screen at any given time, which is a very small portion of the whole map.

archnemesis league was one of the best leagues we've had imo. (the fallout of changing all rares to be archnemesis in the subsequent leagues wasn't great, but the league itself, was fantastic)

I want to guess, since Jonathan said presales blew past sales expectations, I want to say 250k people log in/fight the servers to get in, on launch day
I take your number and then I double it! Well maybe not for the 6th but I could see poe reaching 500k between now and the actual release version of poe 2 next year.
250k was just for last league launch but I think a lot more players would return for poe 2 and some diablo players will come too.
Hopefully not next week cause i don't want the servers to explode lol

6:00 Last Epoch having dupes every season was enough to make me stop playing it. D4 as well, but to a lesser extent (I have issues with A LOT more than just that).

sorry poe boys but saying that forcing everyone to redo campagin for every league is "fair" to new players is pretty delusional. I played since betrayal league but not too much just like 20-100hs a league but some leagues I legit quit before I finished A2 even though I missed mapping and endgame. Campaign is huge time sink and time waste and its 100% identical every league since even though there is "league mechanic" available it usually a) kills you b) is time inefficient and just makes fomo seeing how speedrunners finish campain in 2.5h and im still in A1.

It's bizarre to me that a game focused around random item drops also features regular resets to make even a 1 in a billion item drop seem meaningless, how can anyone get excited about it
Melania is difficult, depending on your build. I beat her quick as she was weak sauce to my build. But the final boss in the game who is considered easy. Is the literal kryptonite to my build. Rock, paper, scissors in Elden Ring. But unlike Elden Ring an ARPG offers you always a way to win. You can't always win in Elden ring unless you literally reclass/change your build entirely.

regarding skipping campaigns: if i have to play the campaign each time the economy resets / a new league comes out i would be fine with it but if this game gets 6 acts and it takes ~40h to complete i sure as hell will never level another character in the same league....
why not put adventurer mode in after you completed the campaign for other characters, where all maps of the act are open but have a specific level and you must kill the last boss of the act to reach the next act? would make it so you can powerlevel through but not be immediately in endgame
They said PoE 1 takes 30 hours to beat at one point too, and streamers do it in 4. It wont be an issue.
@urghablurgha8531 a LOT of otherwise racing streamers have said that you cant rush through areas anymore but have to see to your build and get the passive items from all bosses etc.
I think it will be a bigger problem than in poe1 and people are asking for skips in that for a loooong time
After you play a bit with one character you will have some leveling items, and then campaign will most likely be a 5-10h. But sure, at this point refusing campaign skip is just principle, as he mentioned with double xp weekends, most likely. Once they do it once, players will say: you did it once, why not second, why not third, why even have campaign... We players often behave like children without impulse control, so firm "no means no" can save them a lot of time dealing with us, manchildren that we are. I do think doing campaign multiple time during one league is a chore, but I kinda understand why GGG refuses to let us skip it

when you repeat it a second time it start to get boring.
and the third? like the settlement league. i play the shit out of my first and second character because i like the league.
but when i get bored and want/need to build another build i just quit the game instead.
because i don't want to spend another 6-8 hour replay the campaign again for the third time this league
you see my point? by the time you make second or third character new player either quit or already know what they are doing by then.
why not give player a choice to skip or just have shortcut to speedup the process?

Repeating same 6-10 Acts over and over again for each new character in the same season and for each new season for years to come is beyond ridiculous!!

campain skip will never harm the game, it will only harm the game if you do that on launch on a new clean lvl 1 server where every body start frash, but on standard a campain skip is clearly reasonble, it will noway harm the game. lol the do 20 others things that harm the game like taking power away bricking builds that is way more harm then the tink

Skipping makes no sense. It's part of the progression skill and gear wise. There is no open world. You want to jump into maps or whatever they are called in poe 2 at level 1?
@@QUANTPAPA Why would you want to skip the campaign, it's part of progression and gearing up always has been always will be, they have spent a shit load of time on this game especially campaign and the monster rework and bosses etc and people want to start maps at level 1 with no gear, instant gratification society at it's finest.

Have you tried the game? I played the game at gamescom - it doesn't even feel close to being the same game. Take away the gameplay aspect, look at the endgame systems for example, it's anything but simplified
