Losing Shaw was very sad, but there is plenty of great material that would make another series as long as Terry is in charge of it. He gets Star Trek better than anyone.

Losing Shaw and he handing over Titan to 7 and calling her 7 of 9 brought tears to my eyes - all very emotional. I think 7 will play a role in bringing down the Borg assault along with Jack in this last episode, but the Borg will remain, likely for future ST series, hopefully one revolving around 7 of 9 commanding a ship and her adventures. And/or ST Legacy.

Do you really think so? I mean, he's obviously a fan who loves the show but 'gets it better than anyone'? I have to disagree. There's a ton of surface-level fan satisfaction but the core of Trek is still missing in my opinion.

This season has truly been something special. I'm not generally a sentimental or emotional person. In fact I've often jokingly been accused of secretly being Vulcan. And yet season 3 of Picard made this 46yo man cry--more than once. Not since Babylon 5 has the combination of the writing, the performances, and the soundtrack pulled me in so deeply that even knowing this is just fiction, I was induced to care enough about the characters and what they experienced that it made me cry.
Though I think part of why it affected me as much as it did is because I lost my mother to aggressive brain cancer 5 months ago and as I watched this season, I kept thinking how much she would have enjoyed it. My love of reading, science fiction, and fantasy came from her. When TNG first aired, it was must-see TV in our house and the whole family would watch it together. This season brought me right back there. I had written off Trek after the last season and so, in conclusion, I have to thank RMB and the Popcast guys for explaining why I should give this season a chance, and Terry Matalas and his team for making it.

Floating skull said "we must have the boy" means something different, than the most people think. He is not required for the initial take over. He brings the danger to the plan, he could sabotage everything. "we must have him" to take him out of equation, but he is to valuable to lose him. Do you remember the Voyager episode with the Advanced Borg Drone 'One'? Similar story. Jack's existence wasn't planed. His uniqueness is an advantage for each side.

  • @boba6890

I love the small scenes. It's great you speak of the escape to the shuttle, Riker saying they'd be taken over, and Data responding: "Shuttles don't connect to the new system. They're autonomous". When Seven said: "The Robot is Right. It's the only way." I totally cracked up. Seven says it to Riker totally ignoring that Data's offended and Georgi's shocked. It's exactly what Seven would say, or to use an oxymoron, Seven's the master of pointedly blunt statements. Seven never met Data, including this most human version. Being ex-Borg means she views biology and technology differently.

But I'm not at all sure he's the right man to lead the next series. Trek should move forward. As Gene Roddenberry wanted to distance the new show from TOS and demanded everyone not to go back and use stuff from it (i.e. see what Okuda says this week on the ready room) We now need someone who can create the next next generation, and take Trek into a bold new unexplored future!

I think I have something figured out. It comes from Riker’s comment in episode 9 when he asks Jordie to squeeze all he can out of those “OLD” Enterprise-D shields, and also that it’s weird that Jordie just happen to have torpedoes laying around to load. (Why would a fleet museum have torpedos laying about?)
    Answer:
I bet Jordie updated the Enterprise D with the enhanced “armored” shields and left over Quantum torpedoes from Voyager, which were future tech supplied by time traveling Admiral Janeway!
This will give Picard and Enterprise D superior technology to any other ship in the fleet and even the Borg!

A magical finger snap from Q to end the problems would be a slap in the face to the Magnificent 7 and their Titan cohorts. They will do what they do best -'what people love about the show--they will science a way to reverse the transporter zombie effect. Then they will finesse and fight to implement that reversal. That is Star Trek the way it should be.

I was kind of bummed that Shaw bit the dust. I'd like to have maybe had a show with Shaw and seven working on their chemistry and their newfound respect that they started to grow for each other. I think there could have been a lot of things done between those characters. As far as seeing the enterprise d, all I could do was smile from ear to ear. Which says a lot because when I first saw the enterprise d in the beginning, I wasn't a big fan of it. But it definitely grew on me.

It was very moving to feel transported back to the time of TNG with the entire crew back on the bridge. Also a collective if you look at it that way. As for Jack, I assume the good in him will be the key to infiltrating the Borg Queen's mind and turning the tide. Shaw? Well, since Trip didn't really die on Enterprise but only switched to Section 31, which we unfortunately only read about in the books due to the lack of Season 5, maybe Mr. Matalas can figure something out. .🌻

When we saw the Borg cube behind the door, i thought, "no not again the Borg". The first 8 episodes were good, and now they fuck it all up again with the Borg. But boy, did they turn it around and gave us an amazing never from current Star Trek expected story... I now hope they don't fuck it all up in the last episode...

One rhing I need help with understanding:
Maybe I missed it somewhere between S2 ans S3 but Prof Agnes was the Borg queen there and she was applying to be part of the federation.
So what happened to Agnes and how come it's the evil borg Queen again (I actually love she's formed by the actress though,👍😀)
Thanks for helping me understand 🥰

So, we just throw First Contact and Jurati out the window? I am curious to see who the borg queen is. I'm wondering how they can finish this up in one episode, it will it be an extra long episode? Who was the ghost hand??? Why is the borg visions in red? I dont buy it's from the flowers.bit, but that might be what they decided in in production -who knows?
Great video as always, thanks guys!!!

I was upset to see Captain Shaw died. I was hoping for a spin off show, as most had whispered I. e. Worf and Raffie etc, but I was hoping for a TITAN spin off show. One where Shaw was Captain Seven was first officer Sydney Laforge etc. But Jack Crusher joins Starfleet and became an Ensign on the TITAN (what a beautiful ship) and we would see cameos from other past crew members and cast like (if they survive) Riker, Troi, Geordie, Data+, Worf, Kern, Jake Sysco, Quark, Nog, Harry Kim, Belona Tom, Chikota, Tuvok, Admiral Janeway. and current crew members, who seem unique and interesting.
    #TerryTrek (100%)

I guess this must be "Original Borg" I guess? Borg from the Delta Quadrant. Since Jack did go through a transwarp conduit to get there. Perhaps this could actually tell more stories regarding the Borg if this is the case. I really wish that we did not get the Borg storyline for a 3rd freaking time, But it is what it is. And yes, Like everyone else...I got emotional seeing Enterprise D. :)

In-universe this Bridge would half to be the original Bridge Module used in all 7 seasons of TNG, as in her last canonical appearance she was sporting additional workstations and several cosmetic alterations, which would suggest the Enterprise-D had received some upgrades and refits between "All Good Things" and Generations; meaning it was a new bridge module in that film that hopelessly got wrecked. It's not out of the realm of possibility that in years that followed Geordi tracked down the original bridge as he was working on restoring this Grand Lady.
