With sampling, a stack of plug ins and Antares my late cat can do this. She is not a singer. This is a tribute to modern day electronics processing, sampling, and a grueling auto tune.
This was recorded in 1982 at the dawn of the digital era, that didn’t even exist. If you want to hear technical singing go and listen to a singer who can’t write their own songs and relies solely on vocal affectation. I think what you mean to say is it had a huge influence on modern day music, how can you pay tribute to something which came decades after?
@@j.c7719 well true, but the problem is that so many people won't give her music a chance when a good portion of her catalogue would've been successful if a different artist sang it because people would see the word "Yoko Ono" and write it off without actually listening because they made their minds up about her
weird, this is one of her more accessible songs to people who wouldn't go near her primal scream stuff. This is actually pretty good, especially for Yoko doing synth pop
whoah this version is stunning!
One of the bravest women I know. You go girl and don't let them tell you different!

Amazing, inspired synth pop masterpiece. Killer hook. Production is genius too.
I firmly believe if someone besides Yoko Ono had sung this, this would've been a top 40 hit
No one else could even do justice to it, her vocal is literally faultless. She didn’t just sing it either she composed, arranged and produced it.

@@nah....6151 I know, that’s true. I’ve had many heated debates with people over this. Some people just will not listen.

Who was crazy enough to give her a recording contract?!?!? Poor guy had to be deaf to begin with!
